+1. This is why Obama is the new president. If you think otherwise, you're in denial.

What do you guys do for winter? If you had a "Virtual Golf Simulator" located in your area(like the sims at golf galaxy), would you go? Let's say it cost ... $8 per half hour or so .. We don't have anything like this in our area and i'm considering opening up shop. Your opinions MUCH appreciated.

+1 for Jonathon Kellerman. I wasn't a reader until I started reading his books.

Hey guys ... i'm wondering if anyone knows what kind of technology/hardware is needed to build one of those fancy in-home golf simulators like you see at golf galaxy. I'm a computer tech. by day ... so i'm assuming i could put together the computer and hardware fairly easy..i'd like to have something like this for the winter. Does anyone know any places online where they would sell the sensors, packages, etc.? Thanks,

i was hoping for a few more replies ... ohwell. i took your advice shindig and bought a set of 3-pw mp-57 r300's ... i also bought a set of 3-pw mx-950 r300's. after hitting both sets today at GG, i have decided that swithing to the 57's without any kind of transition would put me in trouble. i will start with the 3-9 of the 950's in my bag and the pw of the 57's .... slowly adding more 57's as i get more comfortable. thanks for the advice shindig. i'll keep you guys updated on my progress...clubs should arrive by the end of the week ... as the season winds down, i'll focus on a goal of transitioning between the two sets next year(the 57's wont get any play this year). now it's time for some wedges and a new putter.

if you could only carry two wedges(not including your PW), what would it be(52,54,56,58,60)?

MaxFli Powermax Driver - would you recommend?
Jon K replied to Island Par's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
i had this driver as well ... bought it when i bought the maxfli set ... my driver cracked as well after only 2 rounds..SA replaced it. i didnt get the correct flex ... i couldnt hit the thing to save my life. i would spend another 50 and get a better quality driver. -
i shoot anywhere between 90-100 regularly. i'm using super game improvement irons right now(maxfli powermax). i'd like to step up to something with alittle more control ... something that will help my game improve a bit more ... something that will be good for me for the next couple of years. i hit the ball great.... mis hit maybe 1 out of 30 strokes or so..i can always get the ball in the air(thanks to my SGI irons). I rarely divot ... swing quick(fitting says stiff shafts). What are your thoughts on the following iron choices for my play type: Mizuno MX 950 (are these a game improvement iron like my current set? no sense in dropping one game improvement iron for another) Mizuno MX 25 Taylor Made R7

thanks for the advice ... i'll keep everyone here updated on my condition as i continue to play golf.

i have a 5 month old and just started playing again this season because of him. i dont get to do the things i could before he came along ... the wifey doesnt complain much when i golf ... so it's my new sport(i used to golf years ago). i'm really getting into it again and am getting fairly decent(i never was very good)...however i'm still a newbie.

i went and hit the r7 non-draws today. hit them great and will be picking up a set this week.
-
I can get the ball in the air and in the general area i'm shooting everytime i swing ... the problem i have is accuracy... it's all over the place. i liked the price of $300 for the r7 draws ... what TM iron would you suggest for someone with my style. i'm definately a bogey shooter that needs more accuracy with his iron .. however i'm not good enough to use a full players iron yet.
-
does anyone know if these are game improvement irons? my iron game is slowing me down quite a bit out there and have been doing some research on different irons. i'm considering going to a improvement iron like the TM r7 draw's ... can anyone tell me if this will be an easier iron to hit?

I just started playing again this year. I went out and bought the complete set of powermax for a pretty good deal at SA. I immediately got rid of the driver ... wasnt right for me. i'm now looking to replace the irons/woods/hybrid with taylormade r7's.. i must say, they play fairly well ... and for just getting back into it .. i thought the set was suited very well for it. ... i'm just getting a bit more serious and want something to match. to anyone else looking for a great starter set ... Maxfli Powermax definitely fits the bill...if not more.

what do you guys use to keep tabs on your strokes/games during the season? i'd like something that i can print off and use ... regardless of what course i'm at. any online websites or downloads you can suggest? thanks

Do any of you guys experience golfers/tennis elbow? Do you use a brace? What stretches/exercises/warm-ups do you do to help this? I'm experiencing this for the first time and although the pain is bearable, it's there.

Greetings, Just started playing again this year...played years back for a few years. Beginning of this season i purchased a new set of clubs listed in my sig minus the driver. i had a maxfli 9.5 regular stiffness driver at the time. i couldn't hit the driver straight to save my life....maybe 1 out of 10 times the ball would go straight.. after talking with a sales rep at the local sports store, he took a look at my swing and suggested a stiff 10.5 club. i purchased the taylor made and i hit the thing dead straight 8 out of 10 times. this got me thinking ... maybe i bought the clubs i have now a bit too soon. i was reading a post about a guy putting together his own clubs piece by piece from golfsmith.com and was very happy with the results. i plan on playing golf for a very long time(now that i have a baby boy and my nightlife sports are no longer an option...golf is my only "get out of the house" activity). question i have for you guys ... should i put together my own set? it seems like it would be a fun adventure...and after seeing the difference a proper club can do to my game ... i'm all for it. if it's a wise choice ... how do i go about finding the correct information for the clubs i need? example ... regular or stiff shafts for hybrids, irons, woods, etc. ... proper club face type, grip type, etc. thanks for reading this mess of a post
