  1. INterlacing for all shots... didnt even know there was another way to do it for the first 15 years I played.
  2. Ones I use all the time (Thanks, Happy Gilmore!) Just give it a little tappy Why wont you go to your home! Non-Happy favorite... on a shorted putt: Nice shot... next time, though, try using your putter instead of your purse.
  3. 1 stroke penalty for not chasing her down and stealing her ugle ace visor and using that as ranson for your ball.
  4. 95 at the home course yesterday... could have been better. Actually 4-freakin-putted a par 3 for a 5. Lately my game has been like this: quad, triple, birdie, par, par, par, bogie, double, par, par, wash, rinse, repeat. I am the king of inconsistency.
  5. This may not be the right way to do it, but I always close down the face of my wedge and hit down hard. I dont want the bounce to come in and skim just under the sand I want it to dig under the ball. Make sure you follow through... if you dont concentrate on that part you'll (or at least I) have a tendency to decelerate through the sand and that ball is going nowhere if you do that. Like I say, thats not so much advice as just relating what works for me... Im really not good enough to be giving advice to anyone :)
  6. HiBore: 100 Irons: 300 588: 30 Vokey: 120 Bag: 50 3 Wood: free (Christmas) Putter: 50 six fiddy spread out over a couple years of tax refunds... not too bad.
  7. When you are at a driving range remember that the balls at some ranges are going to go shorter than a regular golf ball. My range quoted me about %85. Ask at the desk to see if they use reduced flight balls. What I did when I got my new irons was go to my course at a real slow time and camp on the 150 spot for a few minutes on a flat hole. Once I found the club that hit the center of the green on a good shot I knew my 150 club at went up or down from there on 10 yard intervals.
  8. Maybe the launch monitor was reading kilometers per hour and not mph like in the op... 145 kph = ~90 mph... Does the UK use metric?
  9. Titleist 6008 SM wedge and a Kentucky Titleist ball cap w/ ball marker
  10. I have the PCI Hybrid (blue) on my driver and sand wedge and love them. They are still soft but it feels like they just lock into my hand when I grip the club. I can use minimal grip pressure and the club is still going no where.
  11. Adidas Tour Traxion. These things are more comfortable than my everyday New Balance sneaks. They look good as well. I walked 36 this past saturday and my feet felt great afterwards.
  12. In Kentucky the best courses are probably Valhalla (obviously) and Olde Stone outside of Bowling Green. Here in Lexington, we have a great muni designed by Pete and PB Dye in Kearny Hill. I dont know about any of the private courses, but Big Blue at The University Club is supposed to be very good. In the surrounding areas, Old Silo and the Bull at Boone's trace are great courses. One of my favorites that may not be one of the best is Gibson Bay in Richmond, KY... 8 bucks to walk after 2 on a gorgeously maintained course. See Golf KY Links for info on these courses
  13. I do IT support in a dept at the University of Kentucky.
  14. I generally clean mine after every round. An old toothbrush and some dish soap in the tub works wonders.
  15. Last hole, last HS tournament, senior year. I holed out with a PW from 120 for my first eagle.

    I Believe...

I believe... That a redneck in a sleeveless t-shirt golfing at the city park yelling "Get-er done" after hitting a drive only to watch it sail slicing into the deep dark woods is one of the funniest things ever. I believe... A hybrid 3 iron would help my ball striking but kill my ego. I believe... 3 irons were sent by the devil to induce swearing, club throwing, and many other unwholesome golf course behaviors. I believe... Telling your father to "Hit the ball, Sarah" after he shorts a putt may mean you get to beg to get back in the truck after the round. I believe... no matter how many times you tell yourself to turn over your hands to square the clubface at impact that sucker is still going right unless you actually do it. I believe... in never having your signifigant other keep your score card. There are only so many times you can hear "Im tired of writing 5... get some 4's" before wanting to drive the cart right off that cliff over there.
  17. Thats what I carry and it works just fine for me. 230 down the middle just about every time. I can even work it a little r-l and l-r when needed. Picked mine up at walmart on the cheap. That and a Synchron II are the only three metals ive ever played, though, so I cant really compare it to anything else.
  18. My bag has 14 slots and each club has a permanent home in a slot. When looking at the bag in stand mode... Driver 3w, 4i, 5i, 6i 7i, 8i, 9i, PW GW, , 56*, 60* Putter
  19. Saw something similar happen to a tour pro earlier this year... since it was a lateral hazard and the ball last crossed the margin of the hazard on the green side he was allowed to drop on that side. It wasnt on the green, but it did hit the other side above the red line marking the hazard.
