  1. shot a really sloppy 93. I am going through some major swing/grip changes right now which will help me in the long run but thats no excuse for my poor play. I hate when I shoot in the 90's because I know I am capable of shooting in the low 80's but I guess everybodies entitled to a bad day. I had 4 lipouts (yep, 4) and I could not hit a GIR. Oh well, hopefully I will do better next time.
  2. the new pro c is amazing. got a free demo 7 iron and wish I had the cash for a whole set. great feel. I also use a macgregor fat lady swings putter by bobby grace, which is great. I have also used their v-foil driver in the past, and their mactec driver is nice too.
  3. I have had a club slip out of my hands twice. I was swinging a driver in the front yard and I threw it on the roof of my house, and on the course my gap wedge flew out of my hands and got stuck in a tree. I have really sweaty hands :(
  4. Not around here, Its equal as far as slang usage between young adults and older adults. Its pretty sad that the 40 and 50 somethings around these parts still dont speak proper english.
  5. I absolutely hate when people call me bro or dude or homey (or even worse homez). My names mike, call me by it.
  6. Im going to virginia beach to visit family and we will probably have a big cook-out on the 4th. its going to be tons of fun.
  7. my dad golfed frequently before he had us kids and says his best round ever was an 88. he said it got to expensive to support 4 kids and golf so he gave it up until I picked it up 4 years ago. he now shoots in the 100's because he only plays once a year.
  8. this is pretty funny. I love the part where he describes how he used a disgarded beer cup to preserve the dna. priceless.
  9. shot an 82 (+10) with only 33 putts. (I always shoot for 30 putts a round and am getting closer to getting my putts to this number) I went 42-40 .
  10. I rock a 10.5* driver, a 13* strong 3 wood and an 18* 2 hybrid.
  11. I would say go for it as long as: A) it is cheap B)you understand that it probably wont have much practical use.(unless you need to hit flop shots that go 80 feet in the air but only 15 feet in distance) It can be a lot of fun to experiment with unique or older golf equipment. heck I own a persimmon driver and a set of 30 year old blades for this exact purpose.
  12. ha ha, i understand completely. golf is tons of fun, but there is nothing like seeing somebody get the crap knocked out of them, or better yet being the one to knock somebody on their butt.
  13. he played in europe this week and missed the cut by one stroke.
  14. 1. I think his meniscus was torn. I have torn mine (as well as my acl) in my left knee and it does cause a lot of pain when swinging a golf club. I know that for a torn meniscus doctors can tell you to expect to be out of physical activity for 3 to 6 monthes or even longer (everybody heals differently. I know after my acl/ meniscus surgery i was playing golf within 3 monthes, but again mine was more serious and I got really lucky and healed really fast compared to other people 2. Its hard to say, but I would guess he wont play again until the open championship. 3. Tiger dosent like to show weakness. Its a characteristic common to men, no matter how silly it seems sometimes.
  15. Ive never made an eagle either (but Im not nearly as good as you) and am desperately trying to get one before the end of the summer. I had a 50 or so foot putt for one but 3 jacked it for par. Congrats and I hope to join you in the "eagle club" soon.
  16. Yeah, I understand, I live in SC and used to live in florida, I understand the heat and humidity. I walked 18 in 103 last week and almost died, I drank 6 water bottles good luck finding shoes.
  17. I got cheap shoes by checking the local shops for their "clearance" section. they typically try to unload there older merchandise for cheap. For walking I enjoy the golf shoes that actually look like running shoes with cleats on the bottom. If you decide to get leather shoes make sure you get the right size and try to break them in a little before walking 18 in them. You can get the biggest blisters of your life from stiff golf shoes.
  18. when I shoot in the mid to high 80's like I know I am capable of. I hate shooting in the 90's. I also enjoy rounds where I putt well, too many 3 putts and I tend to look back on the round and get upset.
  19. I already do more than golf. I would probably just dvote more time to playing lacrosse, playing basketball and reading.
  20. nice to here your doing good. I feel your pain, I tore my acl and was out for 6 months with no activity(what was supposed to be no activity) and Im finally getting back into it. Hows physical therapy? Im still going twice a week and hate it immensely.
  21. this is probably the easiest and most appropriate thing to do. He probably didnt realize that you were upset. You could have just said, "excuse me sir, could you please go somewhere else to talk on the phone?"
  22. you hit a flop shot from the green which is legal and probably the right play, but the ranger was probably just concerned about you tearing up the greens. Most of the rangers I encounter take their jobs way to seriously and make threats that they dont have the authority to see through.
  23. I live in the upstate of SC where there are tons of courses that have scheap prices. the otherday I payed $19 to walk 18. 2 weeks ago I payed 33 to ride 18 on a weekend. around here there are plenty of cheap courses that are in nice condition. I cant complain.
  24. 11. other I use a texan classic hybrid. you can buy them for about $15 on ebay. It sounds like a hunk of crap but it is probably the straightest and most consistant club in my bag.
  25. $8- 62 balls $10- 104 balls I always get $10 worth of balls.
