  1. Titleist does not sell directly to individuals, you would have to go to an authorized dealer to have them order the product from Titleist. That dealer should then be able to make the loft and lie adjustments as said above. I am not sure if you could order a Cameron Select with a light weight, but I did read that they are offering a Select H on 34' and 35' putters which is 10g heavier.
  2. I thought that it was the other way around. If a shaft is to whippy, it will cause a hook and to stiff will make you leave it out to the right. I am curious which way it goes as that may answer some of my questions about my swing.
  3. I am in Sales (food service) which is great for golf when sales are good.
  4. You can go to your local club fitter and they can check for you and make the adjustments needed, if needed. Or, you could buy the tape and board to see where your club bottoms out but then you would just have to take them somewhere to get fit. They should not charge you much to make the adjustments.
  5. Just wanted to say hello and I am very much enjoying this site. This is a great place to talk golf and some pretty darn good reviews. Thanks! Geaux Tigers!!!
  6. I strongly agree with Rafcin!!!!!
  7. Driver - 250 3 Wood - 160 Hybrids - 130 ea Irons - 280 Wedges - 100 ea Putter - 210 Balls - 50 Glove - 12 Bag - 150 Shoes - 100 Total = +/- 1772
  8. My goals for 2008 are simple: 1. Reduce/Eliminate 3 putts. I have decided to reward myself for every round without a 3 putt with a nice Crown Royal on the rocks. When I make it to 5 rounds in a row without a 3 putt, I will reward myself with a new Cameron Select Mid Slant. 2. Improve ball striking. Mainly working the ball both ways for better angle into the greens and getting at tucked pins. 3. Start to teach my son the basics of the golf swing.
  9. I play my driver @ 44". I started this for a little added accuracy and have been doing it long enough that my last 2 drivers were cut down an inch when I first bought them. It does stiffen it up a little but not enough make it feel to stiff. I can still put it out there with most even with an inch off. I would first choke down, if you like it, then cut an inch off, and if for some reason you cut it to short then reshaft it (as a last resort or if you just want to upgrade the shaft).
  10. Has anyone every attempted to grind there own wedges and if so, could you offer any tips. I purchased new wedges with more bounce (for my deep angle of attack on full swings) and would like to grind the heel a bit to offer more options around the greens on tight lies. I am still unsure about doing it myself, but if someone has some tips, it may help me to make a decision. Thanks!
  11. 48*= 125-110 54*= 110-90 60*= 90 and in My 60* is my favorite club in my bag and use it 80% of the time around the greens and in bunkers and my 48* for bump and run with a lot of green to work with. I chose to go with 6* between my wedges since I can knock down a wedge better than a long iron. Also, I spend half my range time working on hitting my wedges different distances. I recently got some new spin milled wedges so I'm in the process of learning the new spin as apposed to my old worn down CG10's. So far I have only backed two off of the green.
  12. I am very partial to Titleist. I still love demo days to hit all the other lines but if Titleist is on my short list (which it usually is), then I will go with it. Taylor Made makes a good driver, and I love my R7 425, but if Titleist comes out with a 425cc that I hit well, it will soon after be in my bag. I like most about Titleist the classic look to most of the clubs. Other lines are to busy with the graphics and design.
  13. I am spoiled on the Pro V1X!! If money is tight or my swing is all messed up, I will sometimes use the NXT Tour.
  14. The AP2's are sweet! I have not tried the 755's, but I was in the same boat with the cost of the AP2's and ended up getting the 735.CM. They are very nice clubs!!! I thought that my mishits would be dramatic differences since they are progressive blades, but it has really not been as bad as I thought. I was previously playing the 690.CB and do not find much of a difference on the mishits. I hate to throw another club into an already difficult decision, but they are definitely worth hitting. Good Luck!
  15. I agree with jhauser77. I have the Studio Stainless (never did care for the Studio Style) and could not tell the difference when hitting the Select. Both are 35' 330g and they felt the same. I believe I will also wait to catch one for cheap. I picked up my Stainless on ebay 4 years ago for $150. I do like the look of the mid-slant Select so I think that will be my option when I do find one.
  16. I am also interested!!! I would like to get on a launch monitor and make slight adjustments if needed to get the absolute most out of my driver and I do not want switch drivers. Anyones help would be great. Thanks!
  17. My dad recently bought a house in Destin Florida and I plan to go there in July. His house is on Regatta Bay so we will definitely play there, was just curious of other nice courses in the area. Thanks!
  18. In my opinion, if you put a 425 head and a 460 side by side, you can not tell much difference. I find that the feel of the club during the swing is uncomfortable and I can't really tell where face is throughout the swing. Maybe I am just so used to my own driver that others feel different. I also cut 1" off my driver at purchase, so hitting a 45" driver is weird too.
  19. Odyssey putters are great if you are like me and like to try a new putter every year, but the Cameron is what I keep going back to. I usually buy a new putter every year and rotate in and out with my Newport, but by the beginning of the next year, the new putter is sold. The Newport is pushing four years.
  20. It will be very hard for me to put down my R7 425, but I always like to try new Titleist drivers. The 975 was great, but I have not found one that I really liked since. I do not like the 460 head and was very excited when the prototype D4 was rumored to go retail, so I will keep my fingers crossed in hopes that the new Titleist line will come with a 425 head option, but either way I will hit it just for the sake of trying it.
  21. I think Camerons are the real deal! I picked up the old Studio Stainless with out the insert off of ebay a few years back for $150. I have not been able to keep it out of my bag for more than 2 weeks since I bought it. If my stroke is not up to par, I will switch for a week to a more forgiving putter with alignment aids (mallet style), then when my confidence is back up and are rolling it good again, I switch back.
  22. Even though I think of myself as a Titleist man, the Taylormade R7 425 is the best driver I have ever owned. I bought a few extra weights to tweek it exactly like I like it and it has been money ever since. I do not plan on buying another driver anytime soon!
  23. I think that the Golf Pride MultiCompound grips are the best grips ever made!!!
  24. I have been using the old Taylormade Rescue Mid with ProLaunch HY shafts and absolutely love them.
  25. Just got in today a set of Titleist 735.CM and they are great. I also just got new wedges so I think (hope) my additions for the year are complete. Driver - Taylor Made R7 425 3 Wood - Titleist 980 15* Hybrid - Taylor Made Rescue 19* & 16* Irons - Titleist 735.CM 4-9 (in today) 690.CB 4-9 (previously) Wedges - Titleist 248.06, SM54.14, & SM60.08 Putter - Scotty Cameron Studio Stainless Newport Ball - Titleist ProV1 X
