  1. I have a Del Mar that I use from time to time. Great putter, great feel and looks great. I will say though the honey glaze finish or whatever it's called gets worn off really easily. I used this putter for about 2 months this summer and honey coloring is almost completely off the bottom of the putter. Good putter though. I can't compare it to any of the Odyssey putters, I haven't with one of those in years. I normally don't like their inserts but I know they've done a lot to improve them since my old two ball came out. I think you'll be fine with either.
  2. I've got one on the way, I'll report back how it goes. Hopefully should be here next week.
  3. I play 48/52/56/60 in my bag and love it. Last year I had a 48/54/60 set up and I had nothing that went 110-115 yards. I don't use the gap wedge a lot around the greens but I do use it quite a bit on full shots or even shorter shots just to hit it lower with less spin. I use my 60 a ton around the greens, I'd say I'm 50/50 around the greens using my 56 & 60. But I have suffered a little bit on some longer courses where par 3's fall in between my 4 iron and hybrid, but I'd much rather have more options on shorter shots.
  4. Any reason to change from your supertri?
  5. I love the button back and the insert as well but they did too much with all the colors. Just too busy for my liking, I'll stick to my original button back newport which looks way better imo.
  6. Something seems way off there, there's no way a club is going to change you SS 10+ MPH. The 9064 is a Speedline head but it's not going to give you 10MPH, maybe 1 or 2 MPH. I've heard the ball speed is a bit faster off the face but again nothing close to the gains you're seeing. It's possible that you could see significant distance gains by just properly being fit but it really shouldn't change your swing speed. I think you may be a victim of someone playing with the launch monitor or you were really tight on the first few swings with the other drivers and got nice and warmed up by the time you hit the Adams. All that being said, the Adams 9064 is a good looking club. I had one and sold it after a few days but I seem to be about the only person that doesn't like it. As the RIP shaft, there are two versions: the alpha (red eyes) and the gamme (yellow eyes). The alpha is a lower lauching lower spinning shaft and the gamma is a bit of a higher launching but still pretty low spin. The RIP shafts are getting used all over tour and getting really great reviews. I actually think they are pretty awesome looking but too each his own.
  7. I really liked the idea of a jumbo putter grip but when I installed one on my scotty cameron it completely dampened the fell of the putter head. I ripped it off after a few short days.
  8. I've got a couple 1018 wedges and won't ever play anything else. The feel is unmatched, you'll love yours.
  9. Great when new but I thought they wore out very quickly. Much quicker than other grips I've tried.
  10. I had a SFTP with the RIP 70-X shaft. It was the stock 46" and it was way too long. I hit bombs with it but they were never straight, I sold it before I cut it down because I also think the Superfast was too light for my liking as well. Kinda wish I had gotten it cut down and added some weight but it's too late now.
  11. Def a fake, ouch.
  12. I've had 2 scratch 1018 wedges since March and I'm sold. They are the best feeling wedges I've ever played and well worth the extra cash vs. what you'd pay for a Vokey. I made the stupid mistake of buying a Vokey 60 degree because I didn't want to spend the extra $40 to get a Scratch and now I look for any excuse to hit the scratch 56 or 52 vs. the Vokey. Great clubs, so great I think I'm gonna buy another set of wedges just for spares pretty soon.
  13. I've had a Big Moss green for about 2 years. It's nothing special but I still use it just about every day. It's held up pretty well but it's pretty much just putting on carpet that rolls pretty well. I mainly use it to practice 5 foot and shorter putts and it's definitely helped my short putting.
  14. I've got one on the way, I'll let you know once it arrives. It's supposed to be a low spin head, I checked it out in my local Golf Galaxy briefly and it set up and looked great. My Callaway head cracked and the guy that built my driver wouldn't replace it with another Callaway because he thought the FT Tours have a design flaw so he's replacing it with the 9064. I think it will probably be here either today or Monday so I hope to get it out on the range and compare. The stock shaft is awesome, the Aldila RIP. The Alpha (red eyes) is the low launch, low spin option and the Gamma (yellow eyes) is the higher launch, softer option. From everything I've read it's the real deal RIP too, not a watered down "made for" shaft.
  15. I have like 6 putters and just mess with them all the time trying to find whichever is "hot" at any given time. Changing putters is a mental thing anyway, I just like to change the look up every once in awhile because I think it just helps my confidence a little.
  16. I've got the 2.0 but I agree with vmsea about the "net", it's super useful. Especially playing in the winter, Fall or Spring where you might start your round with a pull over on and yu can just throw it in that net rather than stuff everything your golf bag. I wish they would just offer the net as an add on so us bums still with the 2.0 can have it.
  17. Yeah it's the "new" red board. Mid/High launch with low spin. I've never hit one since it's the opposite end of the spectrum from what I need but I've heard that from the butt to about 6" from the tip is very very stable but the tip kicks very hard.
  18. I've had project x shafts in my wedges before and liked them. I went with KBS wedge shafts in my newer wedges which I like as well. The project X are a little tighter and stiffer and the KBS are a little softer with a little more boring trajectory. Either way anything is better than that crap dynamic gold wedge flex that comes in most wedges.
  19. I picked up an R9 3 wood last year and haven't looked back. It's the best 3W i've ever had. I tried 4 different models last year and it wasn't even close for me. I've never been so confident both off the tee and off the deck.
  20. I've got the Fubuki Alpha in my FT Tour and it's a beast. I gained about 20 yards of distance but I have lost some control. I'm not sure if it's me or the driver yet but I'm a little less accurate than I was with my old setup (909D3 w/Oban Devotion). I don't really think the Voodoo is a downgrade either but that shaft just isn't for me. I tried it on multiple occasions and it was always just sort of "OK." I'd give the Kai'li a try for sure, it is pretty much the "New & Improved" Blueboard. I was torn between the two and ended on the Alpha just since I liked the ball flight a little bit better (a little flatter). If you hit the FT Tour a lot lower than your old set up, you may want to check out something higher launching. I went up a degree of loft when I went from my Titleist to the FT Tour so you always have that option too if you'd like to keep the shaft shaft bend profile as before. Hope this helps.
  21. Yeah, Titleist did a limited release of replica wedges for their tour players a 10-15 years ago. My uncle has a few of them (Elk, DLIII and Curtis Strange I believe), I think they are pretty collectable. Not sure how collectable they are used though.
  22. Any word on what the stock shafts will be? One of those clubs looks to have the R.I.P. which would be sweet. Very interesting about the adjustability, I guess thats just where the market is going. I actually did mess with my R9 3 wood when i first got it a little bit, but it's been over a year and I haven't touched it since I found the right setting. Another thing I wonder is if they'll do uniform shaft graphics like TM, Titleist has always put the shaft logos down and if you're spinning the shaft around to find the right setting the shaft logo won't be facing down...........not that it matters. I was just curious.
  23. No, he's got the KBS steel black nickel shafts. They are steel shafts with a brushed black nickel finish. I have one in my wedge, they are pretty cool. And DJ has Iomics on there, not sure about Serg or NG.
  24. I think they look great, too bad I just dropped a ton of money on my FT Tour. I'm not too crazy about the all black face on the fairways and hybrids because one range session on a sandy range and they'll look like crap. But thats the fad right now and I guess they're just playing to the market. But looks wise I think they did a good job.
  25. I'd definitely hit the stock setup before you change anything but based on that list I would say the Motore or the Xcon. Both a a little higher launching but still very low spin shafts. I would say the Fubuki Tour would be better than the Fubuki Alpha since the Alpha launch is closer to a WB. And if you liked your V2 in your old set up you ought to look at putting that in the 909D3, it's by far the most price effective solution. You don't want to put a $400 shaft in a head only for it to launch to low. Another cheap solution would be a ProLaunch Red, it launches similar to a WB and costs a fraction of one. Good Luck.
