On the topic of Israel though, I think it deserves a bit of a special exception. The way the country was created and then partitioned wasn't exactly the smartest move ever. It is not suprising the tension it has created in the Arab world. Disclaimer - Not that I have a better solution for how things could have been done.

Which one of those quotes says Iran won't hesitate to use nuclear missiles? They are all very ambiguous quotes, open to many interpretations (depending on viewpoint and opinion). I guess that is the point of them, to be veiled threats but no direct mention or intent of actually using nuclear weapons.
-
Surely it would depend on the course, and could be calculated by the SSI or Rating?

You've completely missed my point. I said that both sides believe they are right. I have not taken one side or the other. Instead of seeing this, you are still trying to justify why your side is right, proving my point even further. I know people who have been in both Iraq and Afghanistan, and heard what goes on. Hiroshima and Ngasaki are exceptions. Back then noone else had the technology to retaliate. The situation is very different now. On the topic of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, someone said Muslims only target civs. How many innocent civilians were killed here?

If this was facebook, I'd have clicked 'I like'

Again this is just your biased viewpoint, because of the media presented to you. Look up what US soldiers have done to civilians in Iraq. Where is the evidence to back this up? Again just an opinion based on one viewpoint. If the US is the only country in the world that can safely have and use nuclear weapons, how have we survived for the last 60 odd years? Plenty of countries have nuclear capabilities, I'm sure 20 years ago this argument would have Russia in place of North Korea\Iran, yet we are still here. Added to the fact nuclear weapons are really for show of might rather than use. Once someone fires them at someone else, an ally will fire back, and then an ally of the starter will etc, and we'll all die.

Why? Ignoring N. Korea for a minute, it seems everyone here so far has a problem with Iraqi, or Iranian suicide bombers. These suicide bombers and associated radicals are trying to protect their own interests and promote muslim and sharia ideology in other countries. Anyone thinking the US should should police is effectively doing the same thing. You might think its different because you believe you are right, or God is with you, but these people believe they are right and that Allah is with them. In both cases the respective countries media back this up with stories that suit the appropriate viewpoint. Why is it wrong for these nations to do it, but right for the US? Why is it wrong for these nations to have nuclear technology but not the US?

I don't see anything posted. You might need to try again!

If anything needs to be done, the proper solution would be to use military support, not to arm individuals. You guys know that you can already get an escort anyway? A few of other nations have been cashing in: Source

You guys should have seen the China open on Thursday. 18th Green, the group with Brier, Jaidee and Kim (not Anthony) 3, 4 and 5 putted respectively!

Being in the US I can see why you might think LeBron, but he is not even close! And it goes on...

Masters Finalists - A Setback for Golf Fitness!
Surefire replied to pittpanther's topic in Tour Talk
Remember fitness doesn't mean being thin or muscled. Although the finalists ddn't look 'traditionally fit', they probably were 'golf fit'. Outside appeareances don't show their flexibility levels or strength levels. All 3 could have amazing range of motion, and strong cores and forearms etc. attributes that are more useful to golf than aerobic capacity. As mentioned before, hammer throwers and marathon runners rarely look the same, but they are both fit for their own particular sports. -
I'm on Fourputts side. I agree with what he said, plus how do you think people from the bunched countries feel about it? If I did a poll and just lumped USA, Canada and Mexico together because there aren't a whole lot of Mexican players, I bet there would be a lot of patriotic Americans who wouldn't like this. You could at least give the country of the last major winner some recognition!

Maybe he makes loads of money where he plays anyway!
-
I have to say I completely disagree with this statement. If you look at it the other way, maybe the fact being strong and flexible from the gym hasn't helped you play golf, is because you are doing the wrong thing in the gym. Had you chosen a personal trainer maybe it would help. Plus you still need the correct technique. Being strong and flexible means it is possible for you to perform the correct technique if you learn it. Being weak and not flexible means you won't be able to even get in the correct position. Also eat less and do exercise is way to oversimplified. You have to eat RIGHT and do the RIGHT exercise. Eating 2000 calories a day of McDonalds and eating the same in a balanced diet would not have the same effect on you.

Eyeglass wearers....do you wear 'em while golfing?
Surefire replied to Dub's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
Why would you do this? They are not designed to be stored and reused, and its not like they are expensive - I pay less than £1 a day. In my opinion, it is not worth risking your eyes and sight to save a small amount of money. -
Fittings usually are brand specific. Mizuno clubheads standard lie angle is not the same as Callaways, so a 1* upright Callaway won't be the same as a 1* upright Mizuno. Also a shaft that works for you with 1 clubhead may not work with another.
-
True. Over here you usually only hand in competition cards for handicap, so this kind of handicap would be pretty much impossible.
-
I don't get how you can have a handicap based on rounds where you take gimmes and don't play by the rules.

Lifting back heel of left foot. (right handed)
Surefire replied to Ian's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
Lifting the elft heel can actually be caused by tight calf muscles. If this is the case, it could also cause problems maintaining spine angle as the tightness would pull your spine more upright as it increases. If this is a problem you have it might be worth reducing this muscle tightness. -
No offence taken, and I can see your point, although the second part of your sentence that i quoted was pretty vague. What got me was you then went on to agree with the guy after even though he made pretty much the same point about wear and tear that I did, just in different words. Anyway like I said no offence taken, so hopefully you're cool with it too. Topics like this tend to get a rise from me. A similar one I have with friends is if you wouldn't steal a CD from a store, why is it ok to download the music for free? Anyway lets get back on topic...
-
I hate to be a jerk, but make your mind up. First you slate me for mentioning damage caused to the course, and then you give credit to someone else saying the same thing in different words. As to the movie theatre example I wasn't talking about the movie theatre being closed, but playing movies. I was comparing the fact of taking something thats not a physcial item. If it was a case of not seeing the movie or sneaking in, either way the owner of the theatre is not losing out on money, but that doesn't make sneaking in ok.
-
How about the extra wear and tear you cause? You'll still take divots, make footprints, pitchmarks, spike marks etc... Just because a game of golf is not as tangible as a physical item in a shop, doesn't mean it cannot be stolen. How about sneaking into a movie theatre? Is that ok?

If you want a website, try golfshake. Not really used it so can't say how good it is, but it is for this purpose.

I would be interested to see this too. I believe genetics can dictate potential because if your range of motion, or strength, or thought power is limited there is only so far you can go. However you have to train to reach this potential. In my mind it is like a race car and a driver. Genetics is the car. Training and outside factors are the driver. The car needs to be reasonably good to be able to compete, however if you put any old person in the car they may not get the best out of it or crash it. On the other hand put a world class driver in an average car and they will astound you with what they can get out of it. Finally put a superstar driver in a supercar and they will be unbeatable.
