  1. I just moved to west hollywood, anyone recommend courses in the area? Thanks!
  2. All "tour" model irons usually have less offset than their "novice" counter part. This is the case for Titleist Ap1 vs Ap2, Callaway x vs. x-tour, Taylor Made Burner XD vs. TP irons.
  3. The tp version of the Burner is OPEN 2*.
  4. I played some IX tours the other day, my impressions were that it's great of the tee, maybe 10-15 yards longer at least than the prov's that I usually play. They track a great line when putting, but don't hold as much spin as the prov's. Also, it's been a while since i played them but I seem to remember the HX tours rolling a little better on the greens. Any opinions?
  5. So I'm wondering what people would recommend for courses in the Nor-Cal / San Francisco Bay Area. I life in SFC. I personally play Monarch Bay San Leandro and The Met in Oakland. I like longer courses (7000+ from the blacks or tips) and fast greens. Any other recommendations?
  6. The 775's - way too much offset for my liking, the NS steel shafts even in stiff are too soft. Plus something that bugs me - there's a thick red line across the back of the 3-4-5 irons, and it's scratching off after about a month of use. I saw a bunch of returned ones at the Golf Mart by house and they all had the something or worse. Don't want mine looking like that after a few more months.
  7. Any golfers here from the SF bay area?
  8. hmm.. I took a look at them today, offset doesn't seem too bad.
  9. Ahh man I hate aeration. I think it really screws with the line and in the end is a waste of greens fee. Can't stand it.
  10. I think Fuzzy Zoeller is a punk.
  11. Need some new irons that are forgiving, but I hate excessive offset.
  12. Which sf bay area do you play?
  13. As long as it doesn't disrupt. I'll probably be talking crap though hahaha
  14. Lakers in 6 over Celtics.
  15. Nightclub Owner
  16. I'm not a big fan of Crystal Springs, to be honest.
  17. Thanks for all the input. I'm going on the trip in November, Torrey should re-open by then yes?
  18. The best values in the bay area are Monarch Bay San leandro and The Met in Oakland. I play them at least once a week. Monarch is 7300+ yards from the tips, it'll really challenge you. The Met is awesome too, great greens and a really great layout, no two holes look the same, and most holes can be played several ways (lay up or go for it, cut the corner with a draw or hang back, etc...) Course knowledge goes a long way here, that's why me and my buddies can play it over and over and not get tired of it. Sign of a good course I guess. Both courses are around $35-45 green fees. Yeah Lincoln is a total dump, don't go near it. Harding is ok, but honestly not worth the $130 you'll pay as non resident. The Reserve at Callipe is also a good choice, it's like two years new, located in Walnut Creek. Also the Wente Course in Livermore is awesome, it hosts some Nationwide events. You're gonna need to book tee times well in advance. Yeah in the bay area the best choices are actually in the east bay, the SF courses are really not up to par. What other ones are you considering?
  19. Yeah I know know there's a lot more than torrey. How about Carlsbad? Is it far from SD?
  20. 32", and I'm 5' 8"
  21. Really.... actually sounds like fun, but probably not for this trip. What's up with the brokers? Had any experience with em?
  22. Any tips for snagging a tee time at Torrey?
  23. Heck no! I have 5-3 odds that he wins 3 majors this year so he better get up on it! hahaha
  24. Is anyone in swapping or buying some prov'1s? I happen to have around 6 boxes of 'em, brand new - never been played, but I really like the Callaway HX and IX tours better. I'd be willing to swap straight up or sell 'em to ya, give me a price!
  25. I'm putting together a golf roadtrip through San Diego with a couple of my friends in November. 4 days, probably 6-7 rounds. We definately want to play Torrey Pines, Barona Creek, maybe Aviara. Any insight?
