  1. Mikko Ilonen my countryman! I would rather have seen video footage of Ilonen's golf shots instead of Rickie Fowler's caddie's ASS being filmed by the camera crews...
  2. Tom Watson would be foolish to leave Rickie Fowler out of team USA... He's on a hot golfing streak at the moment, doing well since having received instruction from Butch Harmon.
  3. I agree... DITCH THE SCRUBS who are always +6 or more etc... SHOW LEADERBOARD in TV coverage... This should be a rule... The better you play, the more TV coverage you get... The worse you play, you don't get any TV coverage, fair enough?
  4. Working on out-to-in path, for sure. Trying to get that sweet draw shot.
  5. I'm just luvin how everybody keeps yammering and blabbering about Bubba and Rory... Yet, curiously enough, the actual leaders of the tournament have been conveniently ignored. Tied for the actual lead of the tournament are: Ryan Palmer, Lee Westwood, Kevin Chappel. Not saying that Rory is a bad player or anything, but he's gotta keep his ball in the play, instead of racking up the penalty strokes. Makes it that much more pressure to keep making birdie and eagles with those double bogeys and bogeys.
  6. If j.b. holmes or some other less known american is on a hot golfing streak, maybe that can influence captain's pick. Ryan palmer and j.b holmes are both doing pretty well at the moment in valhallagolf course
  7. I'm rooting for Ryan Palmer. He's got a nice swing.
  8. Bubba is an arrogant prick mostly, but he's got some golf game for sure. Twice the masters champ ain't no slouch in my opinion.
  9. I like Bubba because he plays golf in his own way. He's an interesting golfer unlike many others. It's just so funny when you think that Bubba just practiced golf in the backyard and allegedly never even had any paid golf lessons in his life. The guy obviously ended up well enough in the end, twice the masters champion. I also like JB Holmes for the same reason, homegrown swing. Probably a mix of American and European golfers that are my favorite.
  10. J.B did undergo some surgeries as of late I think Arm surgery and ankle injury. The latter kept him out of 2013 for good part. It was a broken ankle from rollerblading accident. 2014 was his first proper season after having recuperated from his injuries.
  11. How about a long-bomber from Kentucky... John Bradley Holmes. I would like to see him, rather than Duff-daddy...
  12. I was practising clubhead path change, into more of an in-to-out clubpath. This was something that my instructor told I should try to fix. Originally, when I started golf I had an in-to-out path, I think. But I must have adjusted it in order to avoid massive hooks. I'll be playing on my membership course with my dad on saturday so hopefully I can replicate this draw-biased swing at the course somehow. Mostly I was getting today... -straight-hooks, ( not duck hooks, but high, straight, hooks ) -straight-draws, - mild push draws -maybe one straight-fade -occasional shank it was sort of difficult to judge the spin, really. Reason being, that there was quite rippling sidewind, as I was able to observe with the range flags. Wind was going from right to left. (wind was pushing the balls even more left than normal) I was hitting off a range mat, with mostly and 8-iron, and I simply put a range bucket to the right of the ball, and slightly more towards my body. The idea being, that I would try to take the club to the inside, at the takeaway, and also the same at the downswing. Idea being, to avoid hitting the bucket of course! It was mildly positive feeling to have some control over the ball.
  13. I would definitely shoot in the 80s with Bubba pounding teeshots for me... And yes - My local course is only 6000 yards from the tips. It's a public course only 9 holes, so they had to use all the land available. rating / slope = 68.3 / 117 @ 6000 yards Bubba's teeshots from the middle tees would just obliterate that course hehe... middle tees would be only 5000 yards or so. Even at the longest hole 521 yard par5, Let's say bubba pounds 320 yard drive... Now your second shot is only 200 yards to the pin. Go for eagle or birdie with a comfortable layup shot.
  14. Check out Ryan Palmer's golf swing. Now that's a smooth and effective golf swing I would say! Best looking golf swing on pga tour. (not counting Fred Couples here) He even has a good stat in the GIR percentage from 175-200 yards, top 2 in that stat. I guess his mid-irons and short irons suck though... He should get the backspin into control on his driver though. I think he could get more distance that way, according to PGA stats. He probably should change his driver
  15. Most importantly, who exactly won the whole thing? The longest drive of the day belonged, to whom?
  16. Well yea, The subtle nuance in this case is that it's a point in the spine, which is the center of the swing circle. So, technically speaking, I suppose the "center of swing circle" should be about in the middle portion of your shoulder line (7th cervical vertebra?) Incidentally this is pretty much what iacas is also denoting in that still picture of the swing video, In iacas's drawing of the swing circle, this seems to be corroborated. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is essentially what the geometrical drawing indicates to an observer, in iacas's swing video. The line drawing starts from the vertebra and ends up at the edge of the circle. (outer edge being denoted by the clubhead itself)
  17. I think I would shoot between high 80s and low 90s Currently in the low 100s, so not exactly great.
  18. Gary Woodland yes or no? At least he bombs it long.
  19. what if I make a putt, and the ball stops near the lip of the hole. I'm walking towards the ball to count the 10 seconds. But a squirrel putts the ball into the hole, as Im still walking towards the hole, prepared to count the 10 seconds. I suppose the putt must be re-taken?
  20. Mike Dunaway was taught by Mike Austin himself, and has a somewhat modified version of his swing. That is to say, that Mike Dunaway personalized the swing principles into his own swing. But the basic fundamentals seem to be the same. Here's a video of Dunaway hitting some drives to the green and beyond. .
  21. I suppose the ball has to be placed back where it came from? the so-called Putt is re-played, without penalty ?
  22. good progress on hcp. but you are hitting irons too high altitude for their normal golf shot. probably it happens because of your ball position and width of your stance ( width of feet)
  23. Im same size as you but I get about 110 mph speed at this moment in time The way you can try to get more distance is to take a trackman session and see what your numbers are for your golf shots. In your case youre already getting good eff7cient distance out of your drives. Maybe a custom fit driver could give you some extra yardage, but likely not very much. The other important thing that is verified through the trackmqn session is your launch angle of the ball. You would do well to hit your driver at optimal launch angle for your own clubhead speed. I think for me, something like 265 carry would be just a perfectly bombed drive for 110 mph clubheqd speed. That kind of drive would allow you to hit 300 yard drives in summer conditions on a golf course. If you can get to 270 total distance with regularity then thats not bad either though...
  24. You could actually take a trackman or flighscope lesson and dial-in your yardages that way. That is, if you dont have a buddy who is taking note of the exact carry distances. You get average carry and average total distance with trackman so you could do it that way. Go through the bag.
  25. hehheh lighten up man... I certainly have to say that Tiger's golf game seemingly has NOT bounced back. This injury only confirmed my doubts I had about Tiger. He's gotta get a workable golf swing that he can actually learn, and use on the golf course. Also workable and effective swing with regards to the driver. I mean seriously... the guy is just tearing up his body making one driver shot... How can you ever win a major like that anymore. He's not gonna get picked for Ryder cup either, too much baggage to carry for the rest of the team I reckon.
