  1. Yeah its definitely not uncommon. There is a course around here with a par 4 that has a train running along side it. Every time the train goes by the conductor honks his horn. I see a lot of people give the train the finger when he does it, pretty funny.
  2. LOL I wasnt trying to use it as an excuse. I could care less about having to buy a round of beer. Truth be told I wasnt having a great day anyway. I could have birdied the hole and still been as mad.
  3. I seriously think people should be required to read a book on golf etiquette before they start playing...wishful thinking. Joining a club would be great but I'm pretty sure my wife wouldnt go for it. Champ, what club do you belong to, if you dont mind me asking.
  4. Bit of a rant here. My buddy and I are on the 18th hole all square, the loser every turn buys a round of beer. I know its a small bet but it keeps our competitive juices going. Anyway, I get a good hold on my drive, 260 dead middle of MY fairway. My buddy is about 25 yards behind me on the left. As I am walking up to my ball here come two guys walking down MY fairway. They proceed to walk over to my ball and pick it up, and act as if its normal to pick up a ball on someone elses fairway. I sprint towards them and politely ask if they just picked up a Titleist ProV. "UMMM yeah...here you go". No apology, NOTHING! We agreed on where I was able to drop the ball and I proceed to scull my next shot over the green in frustration, end up with a double bogey on the hole. Long story short, beer was on me. LOL I just couldnt believe that these guys walked down my fairway and nonchalantly pick up my ball like this sort of behavior is normal. Arrrgg, I seriously wanted to wrap my 8 iron around them. Has this happened to anyone before? If so, how did you handle it?
  5. Sweet! That gives me a little more motivation to get my handicap down, LOL! Im pretty sure its the right distance unless my range finder is lying to me. I must say this is the first year that I think I can get my handicap down to the 10-11 range or even better because of my ball striking. Its always been one of my weaknesses. Wish me luck Corndog, out of curiosity, how long have you been playing?
  6. Go get lessons! Seriously, I was hitting my 6 iron 150 yards last year if I was lucky and after my lessons I'm now hitting my 8 iron 150 consistently. Thats not long by any means but at least I'm making good contact and getting consistent yardage. Lessons from the right teacher helps a lot!
  7. If you dont mind, I'd love to play. Im addicted to fantasy football (who isnt) and this sounds like fun.
  8. 1. Consistent iron play 2. Get to the driving range at least twice a week 3. Break 80 (85 is my best score) 4. Stick to my set of clubs and stop being a club ho LOL 5. Consistently shoot in the 80's. Right now I average anywhere from 87 to 95. The weakest part of my game is my iron play but I plan on getting lessons to fix that. I truly believe if I fix that I'll be in the low to mid 80's.
  9. Ive tried the burner and rapture v2 but for me it was the Cobra LD that won me over. Not the longest driver but I hit it straight most the time and ever since then my drive has become the one consistent in my game. The only negative is the sound but I dont mind it at all.
  10. Each and every one of my friends that I golf with have Scotties and all except one can break 100. I say go for it!
  11. Call the clubhouse and tell the ranger what is going on. If you do it now at least the back 9 might be a little faster. Its kind of sad when you have enough time to post a thread while you're golfing...LOL!
  12. Congrats! I just joined the 80's club last week with a 42 front 45 back for an 87. Feels good but now I want to see if I can do it consistently...gotta figure out my irons for that. haha
  13. Anyone know if there will be a golf expo in the Maryland area?
  14. I bought the WH AWS 4 hybrid and loved it so much that I went and bought the 2 and 3 hybrid. Ive hit my brothers Nike slingshot hybrid and my buddies Taylormade burner hybrid and I can HONESTLY say I prefer my WH AWS hybrids. Im glad I saw this thread as I think I might go ahead and buy the driver just so I can have some back up hybrids. Again, I absolutely LOVE the hybrids but have never tried the driver. They are without a doubt the most consistent clubs in my bag!
  15. I look forward to all the responses to this thread as I am having the same EXACT issue. My PW goes 80-90, iron goes about 105. Good thread Hoove!
  16. Is it possible to take the heads off a club with graphite shafts and put them on steel shafts? I was told by a golf pro that it is not a good idea. Obviously it would make it a little heavier but are there any other drawbacks?
  17. Got any pics or a link to the exact one you got? Im very interested in getting one.
  18. Thanks guys. I think im going to go ahead and pick it up since the guy is selling it for $100. The problem is getting it pass my wife since I just got a new SC studio select newport.
  19. Hi guys I have the opportunity to purchase a Scotty pro platinum newport like the one pictured in the link. It is in pretty good condition. What would you guys pay for the putter? Id rate it an 8 out of 10. Unfortunately I dont have actual pics but here is a link to what it looks like. http://www.scottycameron.com/putters...103&seasonID;=7
  20. Found these Ping G10's at a pawn shop and I'm wondering if they are real. Any help would be appreciated as I am looking to move in on these ASAP if they are real. Is there any way of telling if they are real? Serial numbers?
  21. I keep getting mail from the PGA Partners club stating if I RSVP now I can test free golf equipment. The club is $1 a month to join. Is this legit? Is anyone else here part of the "Club"? What are your experiences? The reason I ask is because of the old saying...if it sounds too good to be true then it must be.
  22. For some reason I cant post on the marketplace so Im going to post here and if the moderators could move this that would be great. Anyway, I am looking to buy a set of irons for my brother's bachelor party present. We are taking him golfing and I'd like to surprise him with a set of irons. I have the Slingshots and after he hit them he absolutely fell in love with them. Im very happy with the set myself otherwise I would just give him my set. Does anyone have a set or know where I can get a set of new or used in good condition Slingshots? Here is the kicker...between taking him golfing, limo and gentlemens club I dont have too much to spend. Im looking to spend $300 AT THE MOST. Unfortunatly that is all my budget will allow for now. Let me know what you guys have or where I can get a set for that price. PS: Ive looked on ebay but would rather not go that route.
  23. Someone posted a good point on the youtube site though. At 5:39 of the video he was using a rubber tee but at impact it switched to a regular tee. Do you guys think its fake? Either way Zouback is a BEAST!!!
  24. I use the handicap tracker on both Dicks Sporting Goods and Yahoo. When I enter my stats in I get totally different handicaps...about a 5 point difference. Which site is more accurate?
  25. Its not that its my rules. When I started playing 4 years ago that was what I was told by my friends I play with. I posted this because I just want to know what proper etiquitte was. So basically what Im getting from the replys is if your not holding anyone up then just keep playing.
