haha..... first off I guess that I can't expect you to believe everything that I write, I just ask that you do. (Everything that I wrote is true, though) Other than that, it just has been a style of mine to drop all the .......... after a point of mine. I'm sorry, but thats just me............ And w/ Villegas, I just think he does his "show" for show......... thats what bothers me about him. He doesn't have to be like me, (the "tradionalist)" but c'mon..... don't tell me the guy isn't a show-boat!!!!! "Oh, it's what works for him" My as$..... its all about showing off............. And hey, if it works for him and the ladies, more power to him............ I can't diss him for that.............
-
Oh, I'm sorry. I forgot another thing. You say I have no sense of style? Why? Because I'm calling out Villegas for wearing too tight of fitting clothes? So, with that, I have no style? Interesting.......... So, are you w/ Camillo and wearing of the super tight stuff? Is that in good "style" to you? Today I wore khacki shorts w/ no showing nike socks w/ nike golf shoes, w/ a baby blue polo nike golf shirt w/ a collar. I looked like a golfer............. not a show-boater........

You have a fair response and I will respond to some of it as I have responded to most of it in the earlier post. Yes, I consider myself a bit of a "tradionalist" but yet I shoot Nike clubs. Are you saying that my "tradionalist" point of view is invalid because of my choice of club? Thats an interesting topic you raised.......... what say you? I'm not a "true tradionalist" because of my club choice? Just curious.......................

As I said in my 2nd post on this matter that I'm not bragging and I have no jealousy towards Villegas. None, what so ever. And I'm sure no one cares about me and women, and I never made that an issue. I just wanted to make sure people knew that I wasn't some 30 year old fat guy that had an itch to scratch. Cause that couldn't be farther from the truth. But, even though most here back this character up, I still have a bit of an issue w/ him. I do, on occasion, wear somewhat tight clothing but not to the extent of what Villegas does. I just think he can wear somewhat "normal" fitting clothing and be just fine, and comfortable. Some of you want to tell me that TIGHT fitting shirts and pants are comfortable? Really? Read that again and try to nod your head, cause I dare you.............. And could we please stop w/ the "oh, if it helps getting down like spider man to read a putt then why not do it? If it helps why not? why not why not why not?" People, give me a break............... It's for show............ I hate to break it to you.............. do you see Tiger doing the "spider man" or kj? or sergio? or phil? or anyone else for gods sake?????????? no................... you don't.......... I rest my case...... Sure, you can make the argument that he has his own style and wears "crazy" type colors but I think his main reason for this is for attention........ plain and simple...............

Some want to assume I'm an older over-weight guy who is jealous of this character. (Villegas) You couldn't be more wrong. I'm a 24 year old budding and in-shape young man, who has never had a problem getting the ladies. (I'm not bragging, but honestly, its true) I was born and raised into a more conservative household and taught early whats right and whats wrong when dealing w/ the golf game. So, I'm sorry to knock off some assessment or assumptions that I'm an overweight slob but its just not the case here fellas. I see more people are more on this guys (Villegas) side than the other point of view. And that is fine, but I just point out that what he wears and does isn't needed and to me is show-boating a bit too much. (I find a nice fitting pair of khackis or khacki shorts just fine and a comfortable nike golf shirt to be more than fine. And I also can read a putt just fine crouching on my knees like a catcher in baseball just fine as well, as does 95% of other players). I'm not even sure how old the guy is but he's probably not much older than me, if he is at all......... Am I guilty of being 24 and having a tradionalist mind? Sure, but my question is......... where are the rest of you?
-
I'm sorry to vent but this guy just bothers me, along w/ other golf fans (men) that I know. Do you really need to sprawl out to read a putt? Do you really need to wear the tightest fitting clothes you can find? I'm convinced this guy just eats this stuff up and loves people referring to him w/ how he reads putts and what he wears. Maybe men that prefer other men might like this and Camillo probably thinks he's god's gift to women but lets ease up a bit with his "way" of doing things. This is still a traditionalist sport, and he's definately close to crossing the line of being a bit too much for the sport. Sorry, my vent is now over, and the world is good again............
-
Can't stand Camillo. The way he dresses w/ his too tight clothes and the way he "reads" putts. (Like, you need to be sprawled out to get a good read on a putt). Does he think the men watching him want to see this display? Maybe men that prefer other men, I guess, but seriously. I have no time for that.

how are the nike cci irons
nike_golf replied to obsessedgolfer's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Awesome, what do you think? (To quote Napoleon Dynamite there) But seriously, I have been shooting mine for about three months now and love them. I demoed them in a golf galaxy, went on ebay and got them new through an ebay store for $305. (I wasn't paying $800 retail) The height, distance and spin with these clubs is awesome. They flat out took a weak part of my game and made it into a strength. And also made golf that much more fun for me. Add to that, they're a sharp looking iron! Definately worth a look at. Good luck -
First off I never ever made the claim that people that think the drivers sound like crap can't hit them. I never said that at all. Not sure where you got that. I just called out people that won't hit them or use them BECAUSE of their sound. Which I think is kind of a goofy reason not to hit a club. Who really cares what a club sounds like? If it works for you and you can hit the crap out of the ball off the tee w/ it, who really cares? And like I said before, hey, its an attention getter. And I never spoke for Slingshot irons either, I personally think they're kinda ugly and wasn't really thrilled with them, and thats why I don't use them. And you bet, those other clubs you mentioned I have no doubt are a superior club. So no, I'm not biased. And I think your dead on about Nike w/ what you said about the company. And yes, I agree that some just don't hit them as well as other kinds of clubs and all of that. I have no problem what so ever w/ that. Where I have a problem is when people brush Nike off w/ their unfair "assessments" of them and won't even give them a chance. Thats my only issue. Other than that I think were on the same page.
-
Absolutely they have caught up. Totally agree. And to the person who said that Nike clubs are ugly, sound like crap, can't hit them well. I want to say what? I will admit my square driver makes quite the "pop" sound but hey, its an attention getter and a head turner. And after a 310 yard drive, is that a bad thing? As far as the look of the clubs, my CCi irons are gorgeous clubs. Check out the review on this here sight of those clubs. I just think people still will always be against Nike, never give them a chance, call them ugly, say they just throw money at people to get them to use their equipment, etc etc...... But, for the person looking to get a new set or upgrade clubs, and for someone not biased against any companies, should really give Nike their due chance. If you don't like them, you don't like them. And I along w/ probably every other Nike equipment user wouldn't fault you at all for that.

To he*l w/ some of your assessments that this new Nike line is basically a Mizuno in a Nike logo or Nike is copying them or whatever nonesense you doubters want to spew. Could it be that Nike really is right there w/ all other golf manufacturers? Just in the past couple years Nike has come a long way. To the point where they are "right there" w/ the "more pure" golf companies. I just think that some are scared and naive to acknowledge that and the others just refuse to believe that Nike can ever really be serious into this golfing thing. Well, they are. People will start to turn to Nike, even more than they are now. Golf might have a new company leader within a few years.

Assuming these tourny's allow the ball switching or you can somehow get away w/ it, go w/ Bridgestone B-330 for drives and Nike One Platinum for everything else. Killer combo.

Switching to Titleist ProV1.
nike_golf replied to InTheTwenties's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
Unlike most others, I like Nike Golf equipment, so yeah I gave the Platinum and Black their shot. And they both do just as advertised. The Platinum will always remain my putting ball (yes, I have a "putting ball") because it is nice and soft and rolls so nice. But, just to be a bit different and stick out amongst other golfing partners I tried the Bridgestone B-330's and haven't looked back since. I still want to try the B-330S's though. A softer ball. But, as I still get used to my new clubs I am figuring my game out more and finding out what kind of ball I want but these Bridgestone's seem to really fly around the course! -
08 Big Bertha Steel Irons or Nike CCI Irons?
nike_golf replied to dro's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Go w/ the CCI irons my friend. I have been shooting them for over a month now and they are awesome. I love them. And 300 for them is a good price. Also, I have seen mixed reviews on them but remember, many guys on tour are using these clubs, so I wouldn't say they are too bad. -
Can't go wrong w/ the CCI forged irons my friend. Ask the guy who won the masters.

I think Nike has made huge strides in all of their equipment. Their not all talk or show anymore. They just make solid, good golf equipment. Made the switch just this year. Only club that isn't a nike in my bag is my scotty putter.

my 54 from 100 out or less is the perfect club for you here. look at getting a 54 lofter.

I pair my 54 up w/ my 60.... works great....

Nike SuMo Squared 5900 Driver / Driver suggestions
nike_golf replied to m11's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I'm shooting a Sumo 2 square driver and its an awesome driver. You won't be disappointed in its performance. And you said you liked the sound of it? I have to admit, it threw me off at first with that really high pitched ping when its hit but after a few times you get used to it and its the sound of greatness.
