Another boggie :-D and a birdie oportunity for Woods
-
If the weather stays the same it will be almost imposible to catch Scott, we need bad weather for Tiger to have a chance, because I think he plays better in the wind, with his stingers and all, just my two cents
-
Great win Tiger, cant blame Bo or Degonge, now the Greenbrier, see u all
-
Tiger playing like this, and winning is good for golf and good for business, and if business is good, golf will be greater. Like him or hate him you gotta admit that.
-
Many in the mix anything can happens, long wayto go. Rooting for Tiger always.

Great ball striker besides of what all its been said in this threae, is the ability to hit it flush, solid, in the sweat spot, with great lag, in a downward motion, taking a divot after the ball (with irons of course) compressing the ball against the turf, therefore feeling that glorious sensation that can only be feel a couple of times in a round of 18 holes.

I cant believe Tiger came with that shot on 18th, it was insane, anyway tomorrow is going to be great.

Hi, I play a 16th handicap. My chippng is one of the things that wont let me get lower scores. I used to play the basic set up: feet together, weight forward, hands forward, ball in the back of the stance, but I tend to hit it THIN 50% of the time, especially under pressure. Last week I took a lesson from a local PRO, who taught me 3 different ways to chip, and he told me in my case I will be beteer off with the "putting style" technique, that is a putting stance, putting grip, putting ball position, the only difference will be a weight forward stance, and of course a chipping club instead of the putter. The first round I play, it was fine, the second i messed up. Do you think this is a good technique I should stick with? Thanks in advance for your advice.

my friend, just broke 90 last year, i am close to breaking 80 soon, my lowest score is a 39. Work a lot on your short game, believe me, no me 3 putts, get it out of the bunker ( you have to feel comfortable in a bunker), chips and pitches, that how you are going to break 90. Its a matter of playing boggies and 1 or 2 pars, and you are done with it. Your driving and long game doesnt have to be perfect. Then, if you want to break 80, you need a much more solid ball striking ( hitting down compressing the ball, getting distance, attacking par 5s, at leat 1 birdie per round and lots of pars. Good luck and work a lot.

Thanks for your advice, I will put them in action today that I will go to the range, specially comming from single digit handicappers. I will post my golf swing any time.

I will like to hear your opinion on this one. Who do you think Tiger will beat first: Snead 82 pga tour wins or Nicklaus 18 majors. I think he will beat first Sam's since he had demonstrated lately that he can win more than 5 tournaments per year, in the other hand, he seems to have trouble closing it on majors.

Hi everybody, please your advice. I have an 18 handicap of the white tees, I seem to have a problem in my golf swing since I started 6 years ago, when I record my swing on camara, I can see that I lift my body ( i guess trying to kill the ball) so that causes lots of thin shots. I have noticed that this will happen specially with my sand wedge in the 60_100 yardage. How can i get rid of this, what drills do you recommend or what swing thought in order to stay down.
-
I shot 45/40 (85) my best round ever, i have 20 hcp, 5 pars in a row, very consistent golf for me, hitting 3 woods from the fairway ( which i never do), but as everybody know, consistency is the key in this game, lets see what I will hit on the weekend.

Hey, my friend. That´s your practice swing, we dont need that, we need to see the actual swing ( with the ball). Its a whole different ballgame, especially for mid- to high handicappers.

I am the general manager of a stock brokerage company in Ecuador.

the best piece of advice I can give you is to videotape your swing, and the post it in here so we can see whats going on. If you can afford some lessons it will be great, otherwise the sandtrap can help you a lot. But judging on your lack of distance and your handicap, I bet you are casting the club, no lag whatsoever, in other words you are scooping the ball, and that is a very serious illness you have to cure rightway, it will requiere a lot of practice though.

My friend, I play golf 2 times a week, I usually play twosomes or threesomes, but once in a while, I play solo. Its enjoyable, its peaceful, and you usually play better, BUT the big problem here is, if you just play solo, the moment you play in a foursome you will be the worst round of you life because you are not used to the pressure, the rush, etc. So, if you want to improve dont play solo all the time.

I have made a 92, those 3 extra shots are giving me a lot of work, my pitching from 80 yards and below, and my bunkers shots, are my limitation to break 90. Congratulations!!!! I will keep you posted if a break 90

bunkers are ruining golf for me pls help!
poirot replied to Sandwedge74's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
My 2 cents will be, so your basic set up, and then focus on hitting 1 inch or inch and a half back, keeping your head down, dont slide your hips forward, because then you will blade out the ball, and your final score will be a real shame. Another thing, dont try to get to deep into the sand, just swing as if you want to pass below the ball half and inch max. -
I go for 3. But when my game is going bad I will get upset if people are talking while I am ready to swing.

92, working on breaking 90 this year. I play at the Guayaquil Country Club in Ecuador, par 72, a really nice course.

thanks for your quick reply, i never had that pain before, because i was scooping the ball, but now i am hitting with a descending blow, and taking divots, but my wrist suffers, i guess i have to go to the doctor as well, i hope my wrist gets used to this new swing, because I aint going back to the scooping.

I have a left wrist pain, I am a right hand golfer, I start feeling this problem, when I changed my swing to the Stack and tilt, now i am hitting quality irons with compression for the first time after 5 years of playing the game, i used to scoop the ball so i was way short in comparison to my friends, what can i do?
