  1. wow I wish I could have a breakthrough like that. I would love to shoot low 80s.
  2. A few years ago I saw a VERY bright flashing light, like a strobe light, move across the entire sky in front of me while I was on the freeway about 8 or 9 at night. Flashed maybe 5 or 6 times in about 5 or 6 seconds until it was gone. I've never seen anything like it before. I'm one to see all the little loopholes or explanations to all the stuff people think they see but I admit that I have no explanation for what I saw. It was just weird to say the least.
  3. This happens to me too occasionally. Sometimes I get more backspin with my driver than I do with my 8 iron. I think I'm hitting down on it too much, swinging it like an iron.
  4. how much does it cost?
  5. I thought I read that Jackson Park was a dump... or maybe that was Jefferson Park... ahh I don't know I get both those courses confused. I was just in town recently and played Washington National down in Auburn. Very nice course, a frikkin ton of sand (which I found often), but very nice. Played like crap but the round was still fun. I recommend the course if anyone is thinking about playing it. It's the UW's home course.
  6. Very disappointed I couldn't go this weekend. But glad you had a good time and glad the tournament went well.
  7. Wow what a plan you have. If I had the spare time and money to do that I would too, but sadly i have too little of both.
  8. very nice, nice to see some more WA state golfers here :)

    Baseball grip...

It's good to hear about people who use the 10 finger grip, especially some of the lower cappers. I started with the 10 finger, tried to switch to the overlap and have not been able to yet. I still might try but I am showing improvement in my game with my current grip and I really don't see the grip as what's holding me back (contrary to what I've heard). It simply feels right to me whereas the overlap feels foreign.
  10. At my course, employees just go out whenever they feel like it. I'm going to tag along with the tennis pro and get some free rounds in sometime.
  11. Roger had quite a bit of trouble serving today. low % first serves and delpo was teeing off on his 2nd serve. the guy can unleash that forehand when he wants to. There was no way Fed was going to hang on serving like he did today. Congrats to Del Potro though, he is a great young player.
  12. wow I can sympathize with that (not that I've ever had a putt to get to the tour championship, but you know what I mean). I feel bad for him.
  13. after a slew of 94's I decided to back up a tee box (400 yds farther) and shoot 90! I usually screw up the back nine, but dropped a 43 (par 37) on it today. front 9 wasn't great. Had 6 pars (4 on the back 9). Putted great (had 8 one-putts) and 30 total. Even though I did not break 90, I am still quite pleased.
  14. Rugby is a very interesting sport to watch. I have absolutely no idea how the game is supposed to be played, no idea on strategies or rules, only see it about once every couple years but it looks pretty awesome so I'm all for it. Olympics also means more exposure to the American audience, the majority of whom have never seen rugby before.
  15. ahh I felt bad for him there. Nothing like 4 putting the last to eliminate yourself from next week. sucks.
  16. Is this in the next issue?
  17. not bad, in fact pretty good. i wouldn't trade my team for yours though :p I'm actually playing two teams. Team 1: QB- Kurt Warner, Matt Hasselbeck RB- DeAngelo Williams, Marion Barber, Willie Parker WR- Dwayne Bowe, Santonio Holmes, Brandon Marshall (trying desperately to offload), Davone Bess, Steve Breaston TE- Dustin Keller K- Nick Folk DST- Packers, Buccaneers Team 2: QB- Tony Romo, Matt Hasselbeck RB- Michael Turner, Brian Westbrook, Jonathan Stewart, Rashard Mendenhall WR- T.J. Houshmandzadeh, Bernard Berrian, Lance Moore, Chris Chambers TE- Antonio Gates K- Neil Rackers DST- Bears, Panthers actually, i'm not liking my chances to win my league again.
  18. had about 135 left on a par 4 to the hole, pulled 8 iron and hit the flagstick about a foot above the hole. of course, it bounced to 30 feet and I 3 putt.
  19. Yeah maybe so, but I'm still highly impressed.
  20. another 94. ugh. I have this amazing thing that I do where I start off well on the front 9 (45 today, 44 and 46 previous two days) and then f*** up the back nine and choke away my chance at sub 90s with misclubbing/yips/chili dips. it's quite frustrating. good front nines are always followed with a chokejob of a back and i always end up with 94. 22 putts on the back (3 3putts). finish double-double-double on 16-17-18. choke if i've ever had one and i'm sick of it.
  21. There's a video on youtube where he hits a backwards flop shot. like he lines up looking away from the hole and hits it backwards. pretty crazy.
  22. didn't see it because my hotel that I was staying in did not have ttc. but I am more than happy that Roddick lost. I'm sorry I wasn't at the match since I had been there the first 5 days (Mon-Fri) but didn't go on Sat. Would have been a great match to see.
  23. They wouldn't if he didn't make a big deal about playing the game as it was meant to be played.
  24. They're a lot more accurate than judging distance with the naked eye or pacing off from a yardage stake and then guessing pin location. As has been reiterated countless times here, it's quicker as well and offers no advantage while playing. All it's telling you is how far to the hole, it's on you to pick the right club, account for the wind, execute the shot, etc. For the record, I don't own a laser GPS myself but have used them a couple times. The courses I play usually have GPS in the cart so that's what I normally use.
  25. Under tour standards, they did play terrible.
