  2. Welcome indeed, and may you enjoy good health in the future
  3. Rickie Fowler was fanastic in all 4 majors in 2014: He has just become only the third player to finish Top 5 in all 4 majors in a calender year - the other two being Tiger and Jack; plus, he is the only player with 4 top 5's without a win. He is no fluke and he certainly is no flash the pan. If he continues to give himself the scoring chances like he has done the past few months, there will be majors coming his way. I can not say the same about Sergio, impressive as he has been himself the past year.
  4. Welcome Fred!
  5. Welcome Cody!
  6. Great country, and great for golf too. I live in Johannesburg.
  7. Hallo Paul, Hartlik welkom by die Sandtrap! Ek is Afrikaans van Suid-Afrika en my taal stam van Nederlands af. Mooi bly!

  10. Quality over Quantity - I rather hit 90 balls (at my range 2 x buckets), with all 13 clubs and use a full 90 minutes, than try to hit 200 balls in 45 minutes. But I try to make every shot count; checking fundamentals before every shot, picking a spot exactly where I want to hit it and step away from the bucket for a few seconds after every shot. I do this four times a week. On the other three days I play full rounds, one of which is a practice round by myself where I take as much time as is available to hit as many tee and fairway shots as I consider necessary. Again, one practice round where you hit numerous balls from uneven lies and fairway bunkers etc (in other words, shots you cannot practice on the range anyway), is worth 10 range days. Senselessly hitting hundreds of balls is counterproductive. It spoils your timing and rhythm and leaves you with nothing but a sore back and broken calluses on your fingers.

  18. We are entering the early part of our winter now here in South Africa, while you guys in the US and Canada enjoy your early summer. It rarely snows here (apart from mountain range areas), but it still gets bitterly cold and our golf courses turn yellow, hard and ugly. I am depressed already.

  20. Good luck! But please realize that dropping from a 7 to anything on the + side is a massive undertaking. Dropping from 7 to scratch is more difficult than dropping from 24 to 7, in my opinion. At the very low side of the handicap spectrum, progress is very difficult. As a younger player I played for years on a 6 - and I was a strong 6 who could usually manage a good 36-38 points in a Stableford competition setup. But even with the utmost dedication, I only fell to a 4 for very short periods and then go back up to 6 - I simply was not good enough to get it down lower than 4 - which means consistently breaking 75. I am telling you this not to demotivate you, but to remind you to be realistic. It is a noble road that you choose to walk, but it will come with a prize. Again, good luck!
  21. Any luck with that upload, boss? Thanks for your time and efforts.
  22. Welcome and good luck to develop your game: feel aint real, but it aint unreal either - as with many things in golf, the answer is somewhere in the inbetween. Good Luck!
  23. I fully agree with the comment, yet: heaven forbid, with al Duval's (indeed curious intellectual) qualities, that Spieth goes down that eventual shades-hiding slope. He is technically not better than Duval, but I think he takes life (as a very young man) in general less seriously than the D in his prime, which indeed might be Spieth's eventual up-step. Spieth knows golf and only golf. D knew and knows so much more about life than golf. For a professional, that is both good and bad. Spieth's anxiety on Sunday is absolutely normal: he is not 21 yet, for grace' sake.
  24. Welcome Gravedigger! You will be breaking 90 somewhere in the near future!
  25. Welcome Keith! !
