Oh yes it does.

for chipping I use a putter grip and stroke as if it is a putt. If I hinge my wrist then I am playing a short pitch shot not a chip shot.

Choosing the right wedges (degree wise)
bigoak replied to BigJohn's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
remember that degree of bounce is almost as important as the loft. grinding off bounce lets you open the face and add loft. The Ping Eye 2 sand wedge allows you to add and reduce effecting loft on the club. -
Do it in the dirt. See if you can catch a couple "Demo Days" and pay attention to the shafts.
-
Get an old Ping or Callaway. When you get the hang of that club move to a Taylormade V.

Don't think that all police are not sharpshooters. I have been a long time member of a rifle and pistol club. Since Obama became the head of state, we have had to close our membership. I worked while in college with Pinkertons at night security with a city policeman. He always carried a service revolver and another holstered at the ankle. He stated if you carry a weapon you should carry two. One they can find and the one that will save your life. A shot gun is your best home defense. You'll have more firepower than an Uzzi and the shot will not kill your neighbor in his house. I recommend the "Judge" This is a revolver that will shoot a 410 and 45 long colt. If you choose a shotgun get one with a shorter barrel and a youth stock because this is more manuverable. Only use the weapon when you are sure that you can stand up to all the whining and antigun crap that will come your way. Profeciency only come from practice, We have several women in the club who rank Master and AAA marksmen. We used to have matches with the local army base but it eventually ended. The GI's were using military issue weapons and ammo and were competing against shooters who had a tuned weapon with bench loaded ammunition. This was not a fair competition. The police also have to use what they are issued and cannot use bench loads. A warning to those who choose to protect themselves. Never use bench loaded ammunition. Always use commercially manufactured.

the judicial system in England needs some work too. We have a chap living in the States who cannot return to England. Seems that after SCUBA he was asleep with his girlfriend when someone broke into their dwelling to do harm to his old girlfriend and her new boyfriend. The chap used his underwater knife to do harm to the invader. Because his knife was large the court ruled that the chap had an unfair advantage against the intruder, Next they probably want a pissing contest. This is illogical and is forfeiting of personal rights to safety. If he had used a hunting rifle, he would have received jail time instead of probation. Break in the front door of a house in many states will get you killed and you won't do it again. I'll take states over making sure that the weapon that I am using does not give me an advantage over an intruder.

A friend playing at a different course, dropped his clubs into the bed of his pickup truck and drove the cart to the storage area and turned in the key at the starter's area. When he got to his truck the cap door was open and the clubs were gone. If he had a weapon in his golf bag; he would not have protection, he would have a lot of paper work for a lost weapon, someone unauthorized to have a weapon would have one now. A gun in a golf bag would require your constant supervision. Inside the belt holster would be much better.

If you want new then its Rock Bottom golf. I would look for a good used at a golf club where you can try it. -
Master Scotty Cameron Putters: Worth It or Not? Thread
bigoak replied to JEWMAH9701's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I paid over 300$ for a driver and I don't use it as much as my putter. If if puts the ball in the hole, price is not an object regardless of the brand name. -
Last (Golf) Thing You Bought?
bigoak replied to JYB's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
Does everyone buy their stuff at a golf store. I wouldn't buy any equipment without going to a pro shop at a golf course and demo the equipment on the dirt at their range. I don't trust a virtual image and data. -
I use S&T; with irons but never hit the driver well. With responses read here, I am definitely going to try the driver.

Can You Make a "Super" 3W for off the tee?
bigoak replied to MikeLowry5's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I consider my 12 degree with a 46 inch shaft a 2 wood. I start the round with this club. If things are going well by the time we get to number three, which is a long par 4, I switch to the regular driver. If not its two wood off the tee and then off the deck. I have played the whole side with the 2 wood. Our retired pro (50 year career at the same CC.) continually said he could drop everyone's handicap by 2 strokes by taking the driver out of everyone's bag. -
A stiff shaft with a lot of torque will be more inaccurate as a regular with little torque. My Monday league partner hits it and then goes find it, He is long. I glued up a tipped regular with 2.9 of torque and had him hit tee balls and compared to his stiff Sumo that had over 4 degrees of torque. He consistently hit the tipped shaft with less torque straighter and slightly further. His Sumo has a huge fade which he tried to reproduce when hitting the less torque. He wasn't happy that a clone would out hit his pro shop purchase. Actually it wasn't a pro shop. I think some college or high school kid sold him the driver at one of the sporting goods department stores with a "pro shop"

What's the point in playing a Pro V?
bigoak replied to James_Black's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
Yes it was very predictable. The pinnacle went past the hole every time. Did I mention that the greens were crusty? The pro V1 works fine and when the course is wet, the pro V1x works fine. He is a 7 and has a pretty good game but with small greens and pins tucked in front, the Pinnacle isn;t going to carry the traps and get close. Not every course has runways leading up to the green on all holes. -
That is a pretty blanket statement also. I am sure that you have a scale to measure the swing weight after the alteration or is that under the blanket too. In my shop I have altered the length of hundreds of clubs and measured the change in frequency. 3 swing weight points for a half inch for an accomplished player is a lot.

What's the point in playing a Pro V?
bigoak replied to James_Black's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
played with a older but a good player today/ He loves the pinnacle ball. It would not be my choice. He hit the middle of every fairway. His ball hit the green on every par 3. The greens were crusty and the pinnacle just rolled out. I played a Pro V and shot 81. He couldn't make a decent chip and had a short - long putting day and shot 90. I swear if he was using a Pro V, he would have beaten me soundly, -
A shorter driver shaft will be a bit stiffer and 6-8 swing weights lighter. Will be more difficult to load the shaft for impact. But if you hit the fairway three times more often, remember straight is long.

I align with a selected spot in front of ball. I put the club behind the ball in line with the spot. from this point I never look up at the target. My intent is to move the head through the ball as if it was a smoke cloud and in line with my spot. works for me and gets me away from the :hit: mentality and into the swing mentality.

I don't think so.
