  1. that bag looks great. But then again I am a big fan of plad. I just wish that OGIO had a stand bag with a 14 way divider. aside from that I love my OGIO
  2. you are reading that the wrong way friend. so as soon as your done being a **** read it again. someone else I think is under this rock he speaks of. now let me make it clear. I did in no way ever say if you want to go FOR A off brand. I said if you want to go off brand. yes there is a difference. A off brand would be going for something not normal going off brand would be intailed going off a lable. or going by a name. so before you run your mouth like that read it twice you may learn something
  3. Adams is a good name for one if you want to go off brand. Anything that gets you into this beautiful game is a good start. Note that now that you paid for your first full set this should be the first and only time you really ever have to buy everything at once. now you can just upgrade one thing at a time (buy irons, then driver, then 3 wood. not set in that order though) due to the fact that you get used to your woods and irons as a whole why change it all at once? change say your driver later down the road make that the only club until you get the feeling that you are hitting it to your standards. then change another part of your bag. This is just a thought of what is recomended by most but it is still your choice. don't get mad if you can't hit your new clubs as well as you think you can. You just have to grow to playing them.
  4. 1. fix the swing even a little. 2. Check shaft flex 3. check shaft length 4. avoid anything with a tour in the name (most are 1-2* open [unless you hook]) 5. If you have a decent swing, with the most correct shaft, you can look for draw bias (again if you don't pull) and any of the square heads do well. have hurd that the sumo squared it incredibly straight. but a lot can't get past the sound it makes. just my few cents
  5. 15 huh...I was looking at sabona bands and they where like 80. I have hurd mixed reviews about the magnetic bracelets. but I like the styles enough that if it didn't work I would be okay with spending the money. It's all about what you are willing to spend should it NOT work.
  6. I don't say I agree with the brush or not. some use it to clean clubs but I am more a towl and tee guy. Everything has to be in order for me but for some they can just throw the clubs in the bag and be good. And I didn't mean it as an attack at you or anything. I just stated it in the way that I thought of it at the moment. (just clarafying...I re read that and it sounded a little abrasive to me.)
  7. As stated, any way you go, get fitted. But I have now found, and I am sure there are a lot all over, but local club makers. The local here has a good limited lifetime warrenty, has GI clubs to Forged blades and the most expensive is like 600. As for shafts, they should be able to tell you if steel or graphite would be better.
  8. To each his own right? I didn't think the balls would be a problem. . . I mean there is a spot for them mine as well use them. But for some it's not their thing.
  9. that first one puts a hinder on my thoughts of getting the...2.6?... I think it is. The one with the center shaft. I love that style as well. Tough choice.
  10. But still now the PGA is stating something about a reporter leaking the rumor of a fine and that they didn't take the comments as an attack on the rulings or the people involved. Give it a few more days. I don't think this will go away until thursday at tee time.
  11. What would have happened if there was a play off....there would have been a delay. How are you going to deny a great battle between padi and tiger. they wouldn't I think that tiger said everything that needed to be said while still being civil. I guess if the network is worried about showtime maybe it is time that another network picks up. I hate to say it (due to people without extended tv) but maybe the golf channel should find it's way to showing all 4 rounds. no .02
  12. I play from front tees when I want a different task. I won't use woods at all. that to me is fun. I am not good to do anything but have a fun day. And honestly that is the best part.
  13. Anyone think they will be better in terms of what will be paid for now. I mean I have hit the g10 driver and that was nice. since I am in the makrket for new clubs anyone think it would be worth it to pay the money for the new stuff. providing they don't change that much is the money really worth the status quoe? call me traditional but I am kinda weird about the i15 irons and how they have a progressive size (larger in long irons smaller in short irons). I know it is for the better but that seems like it might take some getting used to for some of us. Dunno just kind of a rant but let's see what everyones thoughts are.
  14. i like the i 10s. I like some color but I'm not a big fan of mirror type finish so they fit those two thoughts
  15. yeah that sounds a little soon...okay a lot soon. I mean I don't have FJ so I don't use the same spikes but even when I did it wasn't that bad...they did have to be replaced much more often than the adidas spikes though. I didn't think they where that pricy but the rate you are going through them it would be.
  16. I would like to see if anyone from colorado has used colorado classic custom clubs. But since that is a little vague and narrow I would also like to hear from anyone else that uses a local made club that isn't a main club maker (IE: ping, titlest, ect.) I know some people use or have used snake eyes stuff. I am just wondering how common it is to have a little "mom and pop" shop that makes clubs. I was considering of doing a g10 wood i10 iron set but after visiting this shop I found I can get irons for anywhere between 400-700 with shaft, grip, custom fitting included. and they weren't that bad in look or anything. anything ranging between super gi and down to forged half cavity. the guy has been in business for 25 years and clubs are made to order. If anyone has experience with a local club shop or if you have used any of the colorado classic clubs I would like to hear any feedback.
  17. would have thought miz and titleist would be the top. didn't think I would see callaway up there that high. I'm not good enough so I make up with it by being an aethstetic golfer and have to have matching clubs (cept putter, I'm not stupid that much) so I don't use mizunos because the woods game up until lately hasn't had much to offer for the average golfer. I like colors which, yes I know it's a bad habbit. Thus I like pings g10 offerings. I like the orange...I follow the I'm not great but I can look good being bad. Might have to wait and see how the new mizzy woods and hybrids do with people and give it a shot. (no pun intended)
  18. try finding a scotty newport 2.6 blade and mid shafted
  19. I hear ya on the changing. I went overlap to interlock and it worked for a while but feels different to me. I went back to overlap. Now I have a slight fade but I don't mind that as a natural swing. I still use a interlock on my driver can't really say why. Just feels okay.
  20. Being from CO I really don't care who wins so long as it isn't the RW or New Jersey (toss up with the wild). I was going pens all the way. That being said it was a good final series.
  21. I was just wondering if there are any pros and cons for any of the different grips (i.e. distance, control, accuracy). And if anyone uses the double interlock grip?
  22. I use a prayer like grip on my shorter putts but use a more conventional grip for longer ones. I am working on just using a conventional grip just for the ease of not having to choose a grip around 20 feet. If you are okay with having two grips and that works for you there is nothing wrong with it. a lot of people use the claw for shrt and conventional for long putts. my $.02
  23. I know it does sound dinky but yeah I have a thing with matching. ever since I played hockey as a kid i had all the same brand stuff. I know it is a superficial thing but it became my bad habbit. Like with what I have now bugs me. I would love to go with anything and everything but it's a habbit I can't break =/. belive me it's not that I look to be sponsored that would put me in the corner with the dunce hat. I guess I am a lable tool...
  24. the one thing that you are gonna need to do, and I am sure that all will agree, hit the clubs before hand and see what feels good to you. take all your picks and hit some of the demos. sharing that #1 tip, you will want to get fitted. You could pay all that money for clubs but they won't perform to the max unless they are to your standards. so: step one. take your picks step two. keep an open mind to others that you don't know you like yet step three. swing them/get fitted step four. start your path to better golf. my $.02
  25. Well today I handled a SC studio putter...I loved it. Now I have this thing about having a matching bag. I was going clevland and I am still heading that way. Now that being said the putter I have just isn't working for me. could be that it was a gift and I didn't get to pick length. And as nice as the scotty was and I would love to make a titlest bag they are a little high in price. so I am between, if not continuing my cleveland bag, ping and mizuno. I know both make a good good iron and wood but as anyone used thier putters. I would prefer not to have an insert and luckly both have with and without. I know there is a lot of Titleist people but if there is any true comparison to the scotty and say ping redwood and Bettinardi I wouldn't mind hearing it. I would love to have titleist but I share that with ping. mizuno was a recent thought and I just wanna build a bag that I can not have to update for a few years.
