My HCI is trending up. I played a round when I was in Washington over the weekend. Over the first 9 I was on track to have a career round. I shot a 44 which is one of my best 9 hole rounds ever. Then over the next 9 I just completely lost it...61, for a total of 105, 103(ESC). My 28.1 differential drops off to be replaced with a 32 diff.

I never noticed that drop down menu before. Thanks @Missouri Swede !

It may not exist or I am just missing it but is there a link where I can see my awards in one spot, like lowest score, highest FIR, etc. The only place I can find them is in the notes on my main Game Golf page.

Hopefully I am headed in the right direction. I had my best 9 hole score I have had all season even though I really struggled with my irons, I guess avoiding those penalty strokes must account for something. http://www.gamegolf.com/player/pecos24/round/480172 My best diff is about ready to drop off so hopefully I can duplicate last nights round next week. I hope to play a round while I am in Washington over the weekend. But a new course probably won't yield a good diff, we'll see. Here are my last 20 scores plus the 9 I played last night. ( I keep track on a spread sheet since the program the Montana GA does not display very clean for combined rounds)

I am taking lessons. :) I wish I would have been able to take lessons when I first started golfing but where I lived that wasn't an option. I have been taking lessons off and on over the last ten years or so. It has been very hard breaking my bad habits that I have created over the last 30 years.

I just came across this thread in the last day or two so I am little behind(not that I haven't been trying to lower my HI) 1.State your Handicap/index and your goal. My current HI is 30.5. So I guess my goal would be 25.5. About 4 years ago I was down to a 28.xx but that quickly went away... I started this season at 30.8 and was down to 30.1, 2 revisions ago. - Are you taking lessons, if not how are you going about improving? I have had two lessons since March of this year. First to get my swing back on track after winter and the second to work on my driver. - How much do you practice/play and what is your strategy to improve? I practice about 2 hours a week(this needs to increase!) I try to play at least 9 holes a week. If I am home on the weekends I try to get 18 in. I have 14 rounds in for the year, starting in April. So I am averaging close to a round a week. To improve I obviously have practice a lot more and play more when feasible. My ball striking is always in need of improvement, I am very inconsistent. And at the moment my driver is very bad. I am hitting it short and slicing it as well. - Post your past few rounds so we can see where you're at, your strengths and weakness' etc. etc. You can track my latest rounds here: http://www.gamegolf.com/player/pecos24

Last night in league we were playing the back 9, which is the tougher, tighter 9 of the course. I decided on most holes to leave my driver in the bag since I have been hitting it so short and so inconsistently. I started off really well for me, bogey, double, bogey, double,TRIPLE, bogey. Then the wheels completely came off, quintuple, quad, quad to finish it off. I had 3 water balls, an OB and an unplayable lie(which I stupidly tried to play and cost me another stroke). So what should have been a high 40's/ low 50's round turned into a high 50's round. Take away 6 penalty strokes and one swing that I should not have made and my 59 turns into a 52. I am going to continue to practice my driver but until it gets better I think I will continue my conservative approach and tee off with an iron in my quest to break 100(and 50) on a consistent basis. I had 3 bad tee shots out of 9 holes: I hit a weak driver that went in a ditch, shanked a 3 wood under a tree and the other was a 5 iron I pushed out of bounds(which if I would have aimed a little more away from OB it would not happened). My Game Golf summary(I started on #16): http://www.gamegolf.com/player/pecos24/round/465641

A great start followed by a total meltdown.

Ughhhh.... I was not even paying attention that today was the 15th until I got my handicap revision email. Still headed the wrong way after 3 revisions. Up to 30.5 from 30.3. I am starting to think I should play with just a 9 iron and a putter.

Which One of These Foods Would You Give Up For Life.....
pecos24 replied to mvmac's topic in The Grill Room
Same for me. Now if I only had the other 3 to choose from that would be tough! -
In all honesty I think the vast majority of the people in this thread are looking for this... when you find the secret please let us know. Yesterday I went Triple, Quad, Double, Triple, Bogey, Bogey, Bogey, Par, Double for a 53... What the hell happened on the 1st four holes and then the turn around on the 2nd 4 holes?? I wish I knew! By the way congrats on the 42 on the back 9, nice comeback!

This comment will get me roasted but I will never understand the love for In-N-Out, 5 Guys, etc... Maybe because I grew up where places like that did not exist. I suppose they are good when you compare them to other fast food joints. Any how any burger from this local bar and grill(Big Bull Bar and Grill, Winston, MT) is probably my favorite: https://www.facebook.com/BigBullBar

GAME GOLF - Digital Tracking System

You guys are in trouble...I ripped an 829 yard 6I today playing some extreme golf. Apparently the GPS had not quite dialed in yet when I started my round. -
Do you enter a score every single time you play?
pecos24 replied to SoundandFury's topic in Golf Talk
Thanks for posting... I couldn't remember if you entered practice rounds our not. Last week I played 9 for the express purpose of practicing my driver after a lesson. It went poorly and I was not going to enter my round. But then I thought to myself if it had went well I would have wanted to enter it... so I entered the crappy round. And will enter every round going forward. -
Played my first 18 hole round in quite a while. Used my Game Golf unit for the first time. It sure helps point out where I need to improve. (tee shots) Shot a 106, 105 ESC. http://www.gamegolf.com/player/pecos24/round/409430

Played with mine for the first time as well. Missed a few tags and added extras as well. It was easy enough to edit it after I got home. I keep score on GolfLogix and if I had not have done that I would have had a tough time editing my round after I finished. One other thing is that I had a tag that would not work, the one on my 9 iron. I am going to try it one more round and if it fails I guess I will have to use one of the extra tags.

Mine just arrived as well. Everything set up and charged. Going to play 18 in the morning and try it out.

These prices are interesting... I flew Delta this spring to Vegas. $25 each way, for my clubs, for a total of $50.

I am guessing the number you are looking at on GolfLogix is your handicap index . You need to apply that course to course( and if you play different tees) to get your course handicap . If you play a harder course your ESC could be a 10, if it is an easier course it may be an 8. Course Handicap explanation: http://www.usga.org/HandicapFAQ/handicap_answer.asp?FAQidx=4 USGA main handicapping page: http://www.usga.org/Handicapping.html If you look down at the bottom of the main page there is a handicap calculator, enter your course slope and your handicap index and this will give you your course handicap. I am probably getting too lengthy in me explanation... But here is an example: My handicap index is a 30.1. If I play the white tees at my home course, which is a slope of 121 my course handicap is a 32. If I play the blues, slope of 133, my course handicap is a 35.
