Our course is a 69.4/123 It's rated way to low. It's almost a joke. Nobody has ever shot par at our course. The greens are rock hard and half the holes are lay-ups with long irons or hybrids, leaving you 160+ for your approach shot. But, hey, when we go to interclub matches, we kill.

I don't see how a booklet couldn't hurt. I just think that if they bother to read it it would help a lot.

I shot 78 today for our club championship qualifier. I birdied two out of the last three to get under 80 and get the in the top divison. :) I played with a guy who wasn't playing a qualifier, and he shot 80 which would have put him the top seed in his division.

I bet the Golf Channel would've disowned her and tied her down the basement of the Golf Channel studios along with Peter Kessler and made up a story... but I'm getting carried away

One word: Tiger. He'll get some weak challengers, and then hit 5 woods on the final nine to win by a couple.

I get lessons once a week for an hour for $40. He's a family friend, and I've been getting lessons from him for about 3 years. I don't see why someone wouldn't want to get lessons. They are so helpful if you understand what your pro is trying to do. My advice is to watch several lessons from several pros in your area just to see how they teach, and then pick one and stay with that pro! Nothing is more frustrating than having about 5 millon ideas and trying to make them all at once.

I do have a TiVo. And, yes, I don't deal with BS commercials anymore. I'll go play 9 holes, come back, and then watch the tournament.

I think that having a repeatable pre-shot routine is a must. That way you wont speed it up when you're playing well or slow it down when you're playing poorly. Keep your natural rythym.

Good for you. It's nice to see that people follow the rules of golf. Oops! Then you're not counting every stroke. So an amateur doesn't have to take the same penalty as a professional just because the amateur has two eyes looking rather than a thousand? Sorry, but that's not golf. Last time I checked, they don't have out of bounds and hills that deflect golf balls in the fairway. Meaning: you hit a bad shot, take the penalty. I agree. This is fun. It's like talking to a politician.

Guess what? You're not a 14 handicap. You're not playing the game even close to the way it's supposed to be played. Not only is what you are doing wrong, but it is hurting your game. What if you enter a stroke play event? You'll have to count it then, and you'll put more pressure on yourself to perform well. Stop doing what you are doing if you want to play some real golf. The rules exist for a reason. What you are doing is pretty absurd.

But he won an international event: Qatar. And, by my math, 13th is about 11 spots away from second. Are we leaving out the Women's British Open? Oops. That drops down about 12 spots by the averages... Right, but all of these people have won multiple times, and Els has won a pair of majors. Adam Scott got points for that win though. Oh, and Ernie won 2 events back after his surgery. I forgot which event.

Hey, is anyone planning on watching the eight hours of coverage on saturday and sunday? I'm a huge fan, but I don't know if I can do eight hours ... heh.

I think that it's hard for Tiger to get exicted about the Ryder Cup. I know he wants to represent his country and do well, but what records is he chasing? He doesn't have a lot of motivation to play well.
