I bought these tees in a senseless moment, and I know it's probably bunk, but I have been driving the ball beautifully now for every round that I've had them, except for a couple "stupid" shots. They come in a little box of ten, and so far, I've been using the same 1 tee for the last 7 rounds!! Hows THAT??? http://www.golflink.com/golf-equipme....aspx?p=208342

How exactly do you swing a water hose. I've never had the need to do so. At least I don't think I have.
-
I agree with "Nutsy". The swing is more upright than a Driver or Fairway wood. I had the TM Burner...and sold it on Ebay for next to nothing and bought a Ping G-10 18 & 21 degree hybrid, and LOVE them. I opted for the UST ProForce shaft instead of the Ping shaft and it has been the biggest addition to my arsenal.

EBay: Thinking of buying a shaft
chrt396 replied to Divot Tool's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I bought my Prolaunch red shaft on ebay and I saved about $30. It hits great...so don't burst my bubble. Seriously though...I wouldn't think that a shaft would be counterfeited. I looked at mine and it looked exactly like the one at GolfSmith...in fact I'm going to buy another for my 3 wood. There are a lot of reputable golf shops that market their products on Ebay that are straight up businesses. -
Just be nice. I don't know many people that are that dense where they don't get the subtle hints. Who knows...maybe their advice could help?? Don't be so proud that you ignore the comments that COULD be good advice?? If you are hitting like crap...then maybe their advice may help!! Now with that said...you see the guy hitting the ball and he is horrible...then he wants to offer free advice...be polite and just say that you are working on some drills that you were taught by your buddy..Tiger! That'll shut him up!

I bought the R9 and after fiddling with the adjustments, I proceeded to the driving range to test it out. I seriously did NOT like the club. It was terrible on mis-hits and unless you know how you are going to play that day...why have all the adjustments?? I don't get it. For $400 there are better drivers out there. I took it back to GolfSmith and bought something else. My 2008 TaylorMade Burner and my Callaway FT I Q are phenomenally straight and when I'm amped up, I use the TM. It is by far longer than the Callaway, but the Callaway is great for those days when you just don't have the game in you. It hits straight in spite of your defects.

I saw those today at GolfSmith. Good looking classy club. I used to play the Hogan GS back in the early 90's and at that time...it was THE club!

I have tried several gloves...never really searching out "A DEAL", more than a great glove. I landed on the Bionic glove. It touts a controlled grip. It works. It kind of prevents a death grip on the club even when you are under pressure for a good shot. Its $25 but what the heck. With the money we spend in golf...if you can afford it...it's a great glove. Durable...comfortable and psychologically it works for me! It's a mental game...and I know...I'm mental!

Callaway Golf HX Hot Bite Sale
chrt396 replied to nathan's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
I just switched to this ball in the past two weeks!! I found one on the course that some poor guy lost...and I tried it out for one hole..then another,,,and another..until I finished up the round. I figured I'd buy a dozen to see if I'd like em' and I gotta say...they DO bite on the green and they have great feel with the irons and do measureably well off the tee with a driver. I have bought Pro-V's , Callaway HX Tour, Taylor Made TP Blacks, Bridgestone RX330 and seriously...not one of these balls performs any better than the HX Hot Bite for the money. I don't mind spending the money on a good product if it will help my game...but sometimes...you have to accept the fact that you are not Tiger Woods with a swing speed of a stealth bomber and that you don't have that smooth silky swing of Fred Couples. -
Where do you Vs point in your grip?
chrt396 replied to juanrjackson's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
subtle adjustments to a solid grip can affect ball flight. Grip size can affect ball flight..bigger grips adding to the fade. The body or hands getting ahead of the ball by a hair can affect ball flight. The deadly circle stays the same. I have been fighting that fade for years. It's getting less pronounced, but BOY..the checklist to prevent it keeps growing larger every day. -
Last time I had the "Shanks" was in the mid 90's. I quit for 15 years and "Presto!" They are all gone!!!
-
I have found that the Callaway Hot Bite is very good off the tee and has a great deal of spin on the greens. Of course...your swing and equipment helps create that spin...but I have sold the pro v's..(swing speed 95-98), and tried a lot of different Titlelists, Bridgestones and about anything that wasn't a water ball and settled on the Hot Bites. They are relatively inexpensive at $30 a dozen and the driver spin is not bad..but around the greens, you can generate back-up spin is not too excessive.

Has anyone actually bought and hit the Callaway FT-IQ driver as of yet?? I currently have a TM Burner and although I hit it relatively consistent....there are a few of those off center hits that find no-mans land. I went to GolfSmith and demo'd one for about 20 minutes...and the monitor said that out of 40 shots...NONE went out of fairway. For some odd reason...I do NOT believe that. A couple of times the grip twisted in my hands and still...in the fairway. I said to the rep at the store that it must be inaccurate and he replied with a "This club is sick straight!" He was dead serious!! Well...there are no demo days in my area...can't find anyone that carries them that will let me demo them out of the store..and I'm not spending $500 on something that I don't know for sure if it will work. The driver has sold at auction for the mid threes..but I don't want to bid on something that cannot be returned. At least Golfsmith has a 90-90 playability policy. If anyone has one that can share experiences,it sure would be helpful. Thanks in advance!

callaway x20 Vs callaway x22
chrt396 replied to eurofighter's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
At least if you buy what is considered to be the most forgiving club...aka X22's...at least you can't blame it on the club!! Process of elimination. The Callaways sure are a pretty club and I hear that they hit beautifully. I tried a 6 iron at GolfSmith..and as little as you can actually feel the shot with a pair of foot flops on...and with a bunch of strangers staring at you...the iron felt nice, solid and looked good at address. At least if I'm satisfied with my clubs...I've got one obstacle out of my way. I say go for it. Don't get cheap now that you have made a commitment to buy a set of irons!! -
In the past three months I have bought foolishly.... 1. Odyssey Sabre tooth - kept hanging up in the turf on back swing $$ 2. Ping Redwood Anser - pushed everything to right $$$$ 3. Ping Craze-I mallet - Much better and having relatively good luck with. $$ 4. Cobra Fat Lady Swings - billion years old and free and the best of all of the above. PLUS...it was free!! Who says the best things are not free!!!

It will be the Tampa Bay Rays and the Dodgers in the World Series. My new home team and my old home team!! I love em' both! Gotta root for the Rays however!! They are that cinderella story.
-
That was a funny comment!! I can use that one. Apparently you can't throw your club any straighter that you hit it!! That's a good one! Thanks for the good material!
-
Nope...you just sound like a self righteous pompous a__!! I just find it hard to believe that you are just so opinionated about it! You must have gotten picked on when you were a little boy and you are re-living the emotional trauma when the kids used to flick the back of your ear when it was cold out! I understand however. I understand that they have counselors out there that can assist you with your issues. I for one am done with this bantering back and forth. You have shown your little sensitive side. 1. We are not jerks 2. We are all friends 3. We know the limits (most of the time) I showed a couple of them your posts, and ya know what Walt did?? He sat on my lap and asked me to hug him to reassure him that I still liked him. See what you started??? We'll keep having fun...you keep whining!
-
Well..well!! You agree?? Well...I agree with you on the time out philosophy. My Dad woulda warmed my hide or would have backhanded me if I back talked my Mom or him. I understood at that point what the consequences could be if I disrespected another. These days..if you even so much as raise a finger...Child protection services will be at your door. Parents ought to let the kids be a part of the system for a little while if they want to teach these sweet, loving kids...(I say in jest), just how good many of them have it at home. I'm not advocating whoopin' up on your kids...but the free ticket to become a delinquent is getting out of hand.

Losing your golfing buddies due to game progression?
chrt396 replied to jonanthans's topic in Golf Talk
That is the best answer. They are friends and good friends don't come easy. You can always confront them with personal questions..especially if they have been your buddies for a long time. Ask...and don't get mad at the reply if it is something you don't like. Just try and understand and adapt. There is also another possibility that just popped into my head. As we play..practice and our game matures...our view of the game changes. The casual golfer looks at an outing as a social exchange with the guys and is there to blow the stink off from work and family and just let it loose with his buddies. Maybe as you have progressed in your game, you have taken it more seriously and even though you love the game as much if not more than your "Buds"...you are acting a tad bit more serious. Just a thought that popped into my head. Nothing wrong with it...but everyone reacts differently to that dedication. Maybe you are not cracking as many jokes as you used to. They are your friends and they are a protected species. You don't have to change...just need to adapt! Friends rule...! I have been around and around with a member in this forum that thinks that I'm ragging too much on a friend while we are playing golf. This member is actually bordering on becoming mean! If I didn't screw around and acted serious..they would think I became a snob and they would be telling me so....or they would do the same thing that has happened to you. I would no longer be invited...and THAT would stink! I'm not saying that you are wrong! As I get better...I feel the seriousness in the technique that I use...but I realize who I am with and why we were attracted to each other as golf buddies. Good luck...and get your buddies in line! -
Shaft Torque causing pushes?
chrt396 replied to williethekid's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Now...I must say...that is a quote that I am going to store in my repertoire of things to say!! That was good!! I go through the same thing you do. I hit the three wood straight as an arrow...then I pull the big dog out and try and kill it and knowing that I'm supposed to use a more sweeping motion on the swing, I have a tendency to come from the inside and push it. It's all that pressure competing with the guys in the group for that monster drive. That ol' competition...it gets the best of me at times. -

Did you try em' out??? Can you knock the snot out of them? If you can...That is the answer.
