  1. I was B-FIt for Bridgestone Tour B330-RX golf balls Ricky Fowler - -9 Jordan Speith - -8 Phil Mickelson - 7
  2. Correct. Point being, it is 1/3 what it was before they did away with the program and instituted this one.
  3. Just got an email from Golfnow describing their new rewards program. If you recall, they did away with teh old program that gave you a round after 5 bookings, then another after 10 more. Here's the new deal: Plus, continue to play and you can earn even more great benefits: I appreciate that they have given us *something*, but am disappointed with what they have decided on. Thoughts?
  4. Yikes. Sorry to hear that. Best of luck to you.
  5. OK, curious about your "tennis elbow". Commonly here in the states there is no surgery for this. I had it acutely about a year ago from overuse / bad technique playing tennis. I wore a brace, and then it finally got so bad I went to my physician with it. I was expecting a shot or at least medicine for it, and he suggested: -stop playing -keep playing sounds weird, but he said there was no clinical evidence that suggested stopping would make it any better, that it would eventually get better. He was right. You must have something deeper than tennis elbow.
  6. Par 3, 165 yds. One of the guys I play with regularly hits his tee shot right, and it hits near the green, bounces, then catches the cart path. It then proceeds to come all the way back down the path past where we teed up, leaving him about 200 yds in. It took about two minutes for it to make it all the way back, and we were cracking up all the way as we were cheering it further and further away. Priceless.
  7. I have the same situation, and it is kind of a pain to give the distances all the time, but I do it, money or not. From my point of view, if the roles were reversed, and the guys wouldn’t give me distances, I'd look for other playing partners. JMHO
  8. I'd say give it a shot; If you don't you will always regret not trying. That being said, I remember a quote from Davis Love years ago that I thought was pretty good. He was asked "How do I make it on the PGA tour?" His answer: "When you can beat everyone in your state, then you have a chance to make it on tour:. Best of luck in whatever you decide.
  9. Had my TM 460 now for 4 years. I'll hit some of teh new ones, when somone in the group has something, but haven't found anything yet any longer or straighter for me.
  10. Orange County National is good; I like Hunters Creek also.
  11. Wow, that's tough. I really don't have a system that would help you with losing your putter; That always seems to be the club in my hand when I walk off a green, so it's not as susceptible to loss. However, when I do have my putter out by itself, I will put the putter cover in my pocket; That is a reminder that I need my putter to go with it... :) Here is what I do for my other clubs though, and I haven't lost a club in ten years because of it: If I have a wedge, or whatever with me when I reach the green, I will throw my putter cover on teh ground near my wedge; That way I will look for my putter cover when I leave the green, and then see my wedge too.... If I''m playing and using carts - I always leave my clubs between the flag and the cart; That way if I forget it, maybe one of my playing partners will remember it... Hope it turns up....
  12. Actually, it was yeasterday. 195 in to a par 4, and I pured (for me) my 3 rescue; rolled hard into the flagstick and dropped. Eagle. Thank you very much!
  13. .50 skins. (Yep, big spenders here.) We just do it to put a little pressure on our games and try to improve when there is pressure. Most of the time we don't even do that; it might be for cokes after the round, or if we play teams, losers buy dinner.
  14. OK, I'll feed off the title here.... Best - 78 Worst - 103 Now back to your post........ It seems that I can do the same thing you describe; I have a lousy day striking the ball, and i score well, and then there are days that I am ecstatic about the way I am striking it, and just cannot score! I'll tell you though, I am WAY happier with a higher score where I know I hit the ball well, than the days the crappy shots come out great.....
  15. [QUOTE=Pat007;234064] I have caddied for a Monday qualifier, and what I saw with these really good players is they were way faster than normal on all their shots, until they got to the green. Then it was actually painful to watch how slow they were. Now granted, these guys were at work; We are only doing this as a hobby; I'm sure there would be a big change for us too....
  16. OK, going to have to jump in here on this; I'm all for folks starting out, and learning the game, but you guys are going to have to do something to pick up your pace. If you are taking 3 hrs for 9, then 6 for 18, you guys are going to get KILLED by EVERYONE behind you. We all had to start somewhere, so here are a couple of suggestions for you: Play when the course isn't busy. Practice at the range. (You can actually play the course at the range in your mind...) Limit yourselves to triple bogey, and then pick it up, if it's busy. Hope this isn't coming across as too harsh, but you have to be considerate of others when you play also..... Best of luck to you! Stay at it; You will get better!
  17. I've always heard that if your hands (or feet) were cold that you should put on a hat...................
  18. Thnaks for that article link; This one goes in teh vault....
  19. I do. Been playing 15+ yrs, and have never bought a ball. I don't waste any time looking for them when I play, but if I'm in there looking for mine of someone else', what the heck, I'll pick them up.... Also, my kids love to dive for them when we are out on the lake....(There are a couple of courses on the lake we ski and fish...)
  20. This is interesting and news to me. I was always taught, as some have already mentioned, that the flag stays in on downhillers, and out on uphillers. HE's pretty good with teh stats, so maybe I need to leave it in, huh?
  21. I figured I would just bust your chops a bit; No one ever calls it "bow", even though the analogy is the closest to correct.... Good thread. Just ignore me...
  22. Just to pick a nit here, but isn't it: Indian - Bow - Arrow ? Sorry, have heard this for years, and it has always bugged me....
  23. Have to admit, this is one I hate, and have learned to fight my natural instincts to be that jerk........
  24. I think that would be a really cool idea. You are talking 2.5 hrs of your time, just on teh course, so it would have to be pretty expensive by the time you edited and burned it. I think it would be a great gift idea for the golfer who has everything though...... Give it a shot!
  25. Congratulations!! I had my only one last year, and then started doing some research. If I am not badly mistaken it is a one in 12000 shot. That means you are bringing the odds down with your two!!
