  1. Get advice from your personal physician. Otherwise, the world class hip replacement surgeon is Dr Rothman in Philadelphia. He is associated with a few Phila teaching Hospitals. Realizing you are in Florida, it can't hurt to request a referral for a Florida surgeon. Here is the site for the Rothman Institute: http://www.rothmaninstitute.com/inde...ntent.homePage In my opinion (from first hand knowledge), you are dealing with a very stressful situation so you have nothing to lose by sending an email to the institute for information.
  2. Not if you are an enthusiast. I'm also into fly fishing and most people would not believe what some fly fishermen will pay for a rod and reel. My theory is that you only get one ride on the merry-go-round and if you can afford it then go for it. There is not doubt you intend to use it to help others and that has to be respected.
  3. I bought this Sklz Accelerator last year on a whim and just used in the back yard as a very weighted practice club . Then my son started taking it to the driving range as a warm up tool. The ball bearings in the shaft are a gimmick but the club is great for warming up. It's very pricey but I'm glad I got it.
  4. Ping Answer i Series but it took 3 trips & rounds of demos before I made a decision.
  5. I paid $499 last year for my X18s. I've heard that the X18Rs are not as good as the X18. The Rs don't have the bore through hosel, but I doubt that I would notice the difference. I recommend the X18Rs.
  6. I like this Callaway mat. It's very portable. It's pricey at $29.00 but I had a $10 reward card from Dick's.
  7. Bought my x18s last year for $499 (3 - PW). Great clubs.
  8. Good question and I respect your comment, but that never happened in my experience. What should one do if there is a 2" deep body of water on the fairway or in a sand trap or if the ball comes to rest on an asphalt surface (that has happened to me)? In addition, if one is playing with a foursome, and all agree to the stipulations in my prior post, should I argue? What's wrong with "best ball?"
  9. I voted other, but yes, under unusual circumstances i.e. an unnatural defect on the fairway and only with permission from the other player(s). Moreover, a mulligan is given when noise or loud chatter startles the golfer during his swing and with the permission of the other player(s).
  10. They are selling a Callaway XTour chrome wedge for $169.00. http://www.askforgolf.com/shop/index...products_id=50 Callaway sells that wedge for $99.00. http://shop.callawaygolf.com/Wedges/X-Tour_Chrome.html
  11. I don't understand it but I never liked Ping Irons also. Great putter. Never tried their drivers or woods. I know too many old time Ping fans who switched to Callaway.
  12. Slightly off topic but I think Golf Digest's review is better than Golf Magazine. Here's their reviews for 2007 and 2009: 2007 - http://www.golfdigest.com/equipment/...Hot_List_index 2009 - http://www.golfdigest.com/equipment/ratings Can't find the 2008 review but it's out there if you do some searching.
  13. I only have one other set: Wilson ProStaff purchased in 1986 (I stopped playing in '94 and got started again last summer. They have a great feel but too difficult for me. My Callaway x18s are so sweet.
  14. That video is a great reference Jetfan; Thanks.
  15. There are specific stretching exercises for lower back pain that can be found on the web. A family physician, orthopedic surgeon or chiropractor can offer expert advice. Depending on the severity of the pain, it's important to know if the problem is muscular or spinal. Here's a site on golf stretching exercises: http://www.sport-fitness-advisor.com...exercises.html
  16. 2006 Volvo S60; very responsive.
  17. I know what you mean. Based on my experience it's best not to push your luck.
  18. That is a nice site; thanks.
  19. How a shoe fits depends on the style or last (the form used in making the shoe). If you typically need a wide then you will probably need a wide golf shoe or a 1/2 size larger medium. You really need to try the shoe on to determine the fit. Some people order two sizes and return the pair that does not fit. If you are between sizes, always go for the larger. Edit: Mr3Putt is right. He posted his response while I was typing mine.
  20. Financial analyst specializing in valuation.
  21. I was an avid golfer (27 holes and the driving range every week April thru September) from 1978 through 1993. Played with Wilson Pro Staff forged and MacGregor Persimmons. Started up again last summer and took a lesson last week. I'm still intimated with all the new technology.
  22. Golf Galaxy is doing the same promotion.
  23. Last year I bought two Callaway X forged (chrome - 52* & 58*) wedges primarily because I'm using Callaway X18s (3 through 8) and Callaway X forged (9 and pitching) and prefer wedges that match or are consistent with my 9 and pitching wedge. Also I like the design.
  24. Great story; thanks.
  25. They are too busy looking; the design is a little too over the top. Here's the link to the Callaway X-22 page. http://www.callawaygolf.com/Global/e...X-22Irons.html
