Just got hold of a Nike Method 001 demo model. I rolled a few with the Nike Method on the practice green yesterday. It feels great & gets it rolling quickly. An impressive putter. The Mizuno Bettinardi BC1 may be headed to the reserves bench. Further road testing to come.

NEW Titleist Pro V1x balls on SALE!
bradpet replied to golfmonke's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
The webpage I'm looking at says $159.99 for 2009 SM Vokey wedges. http://www.gppgolf.com/gppg/content/...facturer_Id=10 -
I'm glad someone else finds the "in the hole" person annoying.

Is golf a 'sport' or 'hobby'? Does it really matter? It's probably one of those questions best avoided because it causes more arguments than sensible discussion.

Very well said.

my divot foes the right way but i still slice?
bradpet replied to augafan48's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
I had this very problem with my woods & saw my teaching pro about it today. The divot marks were perfectly straight. It turned out I was late turning my hands over on the swing through thus causing the club face to be open. He's got me concentrating on turning my hands over more so that the woods are square at impact. Hope this helps. -
"Five Lessons: The Modern Fundamentals of Golf" by Ben Hogan

Partly on the basis of these recommendations, I've just picked this book up. Can't wait to go through it. -
I can't help you with that one but it's a very good question. I'm interested in the answer also.

You weren't imagining things, the Bridgstone 330-S is an excellent ball.
-
Ditto here. It keeps the ball down the middle so I don't care if it grunts like Maria Sharapova.

Titty guys- Anyone sticking with their 907's

Couldn't agree more. If the driver is splitting the fairway & going where you want it to go, why would you want to change. My Nike driver is now superseded also but there's no way I'll be changing because it performs so well. -
Enough of this offensive nonsense. Your argument is fundamentally flawed, amongst other things. Australia is a country of approximately 20 million people. It is a multi-cultural country. Indigenous Australians (aborigines & Torres Strait Islanders) are estimated to make up 1% of that population. A large proportion of the population has no cultural connection with England or, indeed, the United Kingdom. They, or their forbears, have come from Africa, Europe, the Mediterranean, the middle east, Asia, America (and the list goes on). If, for one moment, your flawed proposition were correct, (that Australia is most made up of English migrants who should return immediately) just pause to think about the obvious outcome; the collapse of a nation State (Australia) and an almost unbearable burden on another nation (U.K.) due to the influx of some 19 million people. Let's also pause for a moment to think about the effect on other countries, such as the U.S, who are major trading partners with Australia. Oh and lets not forget another aspect of social dislocation -> many non-indigenous Australians are married to indigenous Australians. I assume that you propose the immediate dissolution of those relationships? Even if those relationships were exempted from your crazy plan, that would not be enough to prevent the collapse of a nation and the human misery that follows. Oh, and I also assume you've consulted indigenous Australians before recommending your 'ethnic cleansing' of Australia? No, I do not think you are funny. No, I do not think what you keep proposing is a 'joke'. Just the way the forced dislocation of many nationalities/ethnicities in Europe during 1939 - 1945 was not a joke. I normally do not respond to misconceived opinions but your ramblings are more than an exercise of freedom of speech. They are bigoted and dangerous. Please stop. Also, for obvious reasons, please do not send me another friendship request.

A well struck iron shot that hits the green in regulation. No better feeling.

The Adidas ClimaProof Storm 3 way reversible jacket looks pretty good. http://www.adidasgolf.com/climaproofstorm/

Good point. Also, it's all very subjective. Just as one person's terrorist is another's freedom fighter, one person's snob may be considered by another as 'a person with standards' (or vice versa).

He's not around any more. Currently being probed on the mother ship.

Very useful advice. I normally hit a 5 iron punch but I've noticed sometimes that it pops the ball up too high when there are extra low hanging branches. I'll try my 3 iron next time. Thanks for the tip.

I've recently bought a couple of Golf Travel Covers 2nd hand. One is a hard travel cover by Golf Guard the same as in the attached photo. I've used it once & it did the job well, including keeping the contents dry when it was transferred between planes. The other one is a Nike Golf soft travel cover which I couldn't resist buying because of the price (next to nothing). Although, it is soft, it has plenty of padding & has wheels. I then went out & bought a Club Glove Stiff Arm to give as much protection to the contents in the event that I use this. Although, the hard travel cover would guarantee clubs were protected whilst in traveling, and a soft travel cover cannot give the same guarantee (b/c of baggage handler mishandling) the soft travel cover also has room inside for clothes & effects. Therefore, making it perfect for a golf weekend away because I'd only need to take one bag instead of two. I was wondering whether readers have had any experiences with golf travel covers - good or bad?

"Five Lessons: The Modern Fundamentals of Golf" by Ben Hogan
bradpet replied to iacas's topic in Reading Room
I'm looking at picking up a copy but it's a bit scarce in Australia. Any idea of the average price in the U.S. of a second hand hard cover? -
Similar thoughts to the others - nice tempo. Do you hit balls thin at times? If so, it appears you may be lifting during your swing. If not, please disregard b/c I don't want to put a negative in your head.

How many golf balls do you carry in your bag when you play?
bradpet replied to titaniummd's topic in Golf Talk
At least 18. The vokey's usually don't get a chance to chew them, mostly burrowing animals and fish do. -
.... and whoever said ganja smoking didn't lead to paranoid-schizophrenia? Exhibit A in this thread. schizophrenia noun a long-term mental disorder of a type involving a breakdown in the relation between thought, emotion, and behavior, leading to faulty perception, inappropriate actions and feelings, withdrawal from reality and personal relationships into fantasy and delusion, and a sense of mental fragmentation.

What does 'Golf is a Game of Habits' mean?
bradpet replied to Alex1's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
I'm sure the pro had in mind what he meant. But as a bare statement, with it liable to be misinterpreted, it could do more harm than good. I'm sure he wanted the development of good habits & the eradication of bad habits. So many golfers ingrain bad habits, with devastating effect.
