  1. That sounds Brutal! I've been working out for 3 months to lose weight and strengthen my ankles and Core. I can tell the difference and the soreness doesn't affect me anymore at all.
  2. I just saw this and it sounds interesting to me. I might do this. I can't this week though. is it possible to just play in some of the events? Thanks, Ronnie
  3. I read a few pages but didn't see this answered so.... Is this a 1 time purchase? or is it something I must renew every year? I'm thinking about switching from my surrent stat tracker to this one, I really like the looks of it. is there a demo version to try out? Thanks Ronnie

    Golf Fix

    I enjoy it.
  5. I'm saving right now to get some more lessons, about halfway there.
  6. I've given it some thought...part of it may be that I feel guilty for having such a high handicap. Because I can play well at times and other times not so well. But that means I tend to win skins. I can hear the guys grumble when I do win. I wish we didn't play for money. it isn't much, but I don't like getting 2 strokes on some holes and then parring that hole for a net Eagle.
  7. Thanks for the Tips. I've read the Rotella stuff before and really liked it I guess I need to re-visit it. I should be glad I'm not the only one that has gone through this, although I wouldn't wish it on anyone : ) The part that it is weird is I did so well on the front that my team won the match and I got 3 Net Skins and 2 Gross Skins. I feel kind of guilty winning those because I'm such an inconsistent golfer at times ,that I'm capable of shooting a birdie on one hole and an 8 or worse on the next. Now where is that Rotella book : ) Ronnie
  8. I've recently started playing with the MGA group on Saturday mornings. I've been struggling, shooting around 100. The last couple of weeks I've been striking the ball great and finally Keeping the Ball in bound on my drives (real narrow course winding through a neighborhood). Last Saturday I was smoking hot. I shot 43 on the front. I was playing as well as the Top player in our group. When we Tee'd off on 10 I sliced one Out of Bounds into someones yard, Flubbed a chip and putted poorly to end with an 8 on the hole... All of a sudden nothing would work I was hitting in front of the Ball hit four balls into Water hazards, etc and shot a 60 on the Back. 43 on front 60 on back, Man! Is it Mental? What causes that kind of thing? Ronnie
  9. Take lesson. I was a 30 or worse. I signed up for a series of 8 lessons. I was terrible and had to start over. I got worse for a while and then about a month after the lessons were over (and I wasn't thinking about everything all the time) I started shoooting around 100 and occasionally in the 90's. 6 months later I took a series of 4 more lessons. My Instructor said it was time I'd come a long way but would need more work to get better. Again as I took the lessons I shot worse. about a week after this series I began to shoot real well. From July until now I went from a 27 down to 18.1 last night. It takes a little time for you to see the results and some of your buddies might say your wasting your money, or you have a bad instructor, but have faith. RR
  10. That is exactly how I putt
  11. Yes. I think you see what I'm saying. I'm a drummer and I'm used to counting weird time signatures so it seems normal to me to count it as a waltz.
  12. it is a basic waltz. a waltz counts 1..2..3..1..2..3..etc. tour tempo is : start back on 1, start down on 3, hit on 1 so it is 3 counts up, 1 count down to impact. you are traveling to the top of your swing through 2

I'm from Ft Worth, play all the local municipals here. I play in Granbury alot Hidden Oaks, the old Country Club and Harbor Lakes. I recently joined a Country Club near my house, Ft Worth C C and only play there now.
  14. I may have to make the trip down for that next time I'm buying a big purchase.
  15. I use the Tour Tempo mini player and it has helped me tremendously, I don't use it during the round but I've used it often enough that when my tempo gets off I can hear it in my head, and I use that to get my tempo under control.

    Golf Leagues

that is an interesting way to do it. I like that. Where do you work that you have that many people in your company that play golf?
  17. For me its a 7-Wood. THis is the shot I have the most confidence in.
  18. You may just have a timing issue. Whenever all goes wrong it comes back when I get my timing straight. I quit a lot too : )
  19. Yeah I live in Ft Worth and it is very hot here. I shot my best 9 hole round a 41 after playing 18 I walked and it was about 106. It seems like your too tired to get tense or worry. I walked 36 2 weeks later with the temperature around 107. I just kept getting better and better until I hit the wall. 15, 16 ,and 17 I was in a daze. I shot a 98 then an 88. I drink a lot of water and stay in the shade as much as possible. I've worked outside my whole life though, so playing golf for 8 hours is easier than pipe fitting for 8 hours. : ) the 36 holes was too much and I won't do that in the dead of summer again, unless I'm really playing well.
  20. I learned this here on this website.... Just focus your attention on the front (target side) of the golf ball, not the back. This made dramatic improvements for me.
  21. I play an Intech Limbo cheap but soft and low compression, they feel like butter.
  22. I tried it but our bunkerside green is too short for me to land on (so far) His info on Bunker play is spot on for me.
  23. Well...here is an update from me. I've worked with the Tour Tempo for the last two weeks and my scores have gotten better. My Handicap has gone down 2 whole points. I have lots to work on but I shot a 90 on Saturday at a course I was unfamiliar with. I could have shot in the 80's if not for some silly errors. I feel like Tour Tempo contributed to my lower scores.
  24. I agree with this completely.
