    Glove?

No glove. Love having the touch/feel, especially on short chips.
  2. So true. I CAN'T play (or stand) the V1X and I play the V1.
  3. It is a little more "control" based. It does spin better and it is fairly long. Same damn problem the HX Tour has: scuffs very easily. 2 or 3 full lob wedges and the thing is unplayable...
  4. Oh man, missed it by one stroke. Pretty good guess.
  5. He DQ'd himself after the round because he said he putted a tap in put while it was moving. No one else saw it but him. He is an honorable guy.
  6. Club champ: Even par on 16 tee (par 3). I decide on the 5 iron. I then grab the 6 iron, clean it and knock it right at the pin....short. What the hell? Bogey, bogey, bogey finish... ouch
  7. Neat idea. My current home course is only about 5 years old though... :0
  8. Maybe he will apologize? That would be a first. I bet if he was leading the tournament he'd be praising the course...
  9. He just looks like Mrs. Doubtfire to me...
  10. I've played many a round with a teaching pro. Not in a lesson, but in competition. Some pros are better teachers than golfers. Some are amazing.
  11. The best golf book ever is Harvey Penick's Little Red Book.
  12. I read in some cigar magazine about the supposed richest golfer who was not a PGA tour player. He would bet anyone, any amount. He'd play against CEO's of fortune 100 companies half a million bucks on a round and win. He'd play pros (freddy supposedly was one) and beat them out of their money. The pros would lose because they were so nervous to lose THEIR own money. The guy's name was never mentioned...
  13. There is a TON of talking BS and interviews and pieces. Seems like 1/2 the program. The other 1/4 is commercials and 1/4 golf... Terrible.
  14. I hit the sonartecs at the demo days and they were so easy to hit I thought I was hitting an 8 iron...
  15. I drove a 440 yard hole. It was downhill, with the wind, up in the mountains... But I did it! I hit one 380 uphill once though. A 17 year old kid I played with last week (who won the local AM qualifying by 6 shots), drove a 402 yard par 4 with no wind. I was a dogleg, so about 350 direct line.
  16. Funny, I remember seeing an article in a golf magazine a few months ago comparing an early 70's pinnacle with a prov1x. They were nearly identical in all the categories like launch, spin etc... If I remember where I saw that I'll let you know.
  17. Have the hogan 19 degree, but it is now in the garage. The replacement is the TaylorMade 19 degree rescue with dual weights. Much easier to hit. Sometimes I throw the 3iron back in the bag though when I want to hit that low screamer. Can't hit low screamers with the hybrids. They launch the ball too high for that.
  18. TW at 275 (-13)
  19. I go to the range and try to hit crazy shots. Hit major ass slices and hooks with all your clubs. Hit really high 3 irons and line drive sand wedges, hit punch shots, 1/2 shots, runners... Just do all sorts of different types of shots, ball positions and stances. It seems to cleanse for me. Then when I have an idea of the mechanics of why the ball is flying in what direction, hitting it straight doesn't seem that hard!
  20. My favorite shot is that putt that buries my opponent. I love to see the look on his face.
  21. "Bobby Jones didn't believe in 500-yard par-4s either." Amen to that brother. Or should I say Amen corner to that brother? I don't think the greens were nearly as fast back then either.
  22. Sweet. Yes, you must trust what you are doing with a blob wedge. You must have the correct bounce for your swing. I can slip mine under the ball even on tight lies fairly well...
  23. They don't have "rough" at Augusta...they have "the first cut." The founders didn't really believe in "rough" per se. So I don't think rough will be an option any time soon.
  24. I use the 60 for 100 yards and in. A full shot is 100 and anything else is either open it up or do the Dave Pelz clock swing. I like to deloft it (put it on my right foot) and chop down hard on it to get that low two bounce and check shot from 60 and in. I use the 60 in sand unless the sand is very "poofy" then I use a regular SW. Other than my putter, my 60 is my most used club.
  25. From a technical standpoint many of them have incredible swings. They need more short game though. But lately I can't help noticing that.....these women are women! They are attractive women! Times are changing....
