  1. it's all in YOUR mind...nothing to do with partners/weather/even rub of the green.. wither you play THAT particular round scoring-minded, or you play it socially-minded...can't be both, or you'd see the Pros smoking and joking on Tour...they don't. YOU must decide before you roll outta bed which it's gonna be......anything more than that is nothing that military basic training won't cure, much less AIT.

  6. ..Di makes nice pups....I'm gonna build a tele-style axe in my woodshop after I retire... shouldn't be too difficult, and I have some killer flamed and quilted maple in my rack, but I'll get a Stew-Mac or Warmouth neck... I have a couple friends who wind pups, so I'll get customs for in it... prolly something a lil milder than usual, but definately single coil....
  7. nice Tele in your sig.... I'm a Gibson owner myself, but nothing has the sound of a Tele!!

  13. mental toughness?? on a golf course ?? mental toughness is aquired through hard times and serious circumstances. it takes time to develope to the point of having total control over your mind. Handling stress isn't something done by receiving advice, it's having to deal with pressures over and over again, until it is ingrained in a person. some gain it quicker than others.some never develope it. taking the game of golf too seriously adds un-necessary stress. yes, we all wanna do well, but after the games over, what happened really doesn't matter in the grand scheme of your life. have fun.. accept that you're not a Tour Professional..that you're not in a Major event...that your friend who talks too much, or at the wrong time, really is more important than the shot you';re trying to make. Life, including 3 years of Army , helped me obtain the mental toughness I possess, and I still don't have control 100% of the time....noone ever will.
  14. I use to slice like a high dollar knife,so I feel yer pain. here's three things I learned and put to use: 1: hold shoulders closed as much as possible on the down swing. don't spin 'em.. this means hold the same shoulder rotation as in top of backswing. it helps promote inside to out plane....it'll take som practice... 2: make sure left wrist isn't hinged at top...flat wrist is essential. 3: flare front foot out slightly, not a lot, just enough to allow hips to get outta the way on downswing. these cured my slice/pushes/mis-hits....hopefully one or all these tips will help ya...

  16. "hold the angle"...once I started using that ,and only that thought..I started hitting better..instantly. now, I hit my balls when most are still in bed..and its' dark...and I have no light other than ambient lighting for the hospital fuel tanks ( 300 yds)...so the only report I get is from the impact...that,too tells alot... when I think Hold the Angle, the ball makes pure contact..when my mind wanders, and it does alot, the contact isn't so good. I recommend this type practice for anyone, as it's foundation is the swing, and not the results, because you can't see a golf ball flyi @ 6am..at least not until it starts getting daylight earlier. yet, when you go out to pick 'em up, yuou'll know if it was a good morning, or bad day..and I've had both. now to hit the course and try that thought out in daylight....
  17. not true....from Ga to NY on I-95, you cross at least 6 STATE borders, all of which have laws against transporting guns..some with severe penalties, like Maryland, if yer caught with a handgun in yer vehicle..they won;t recognize a legal bordering state CCW permit!!!! get pulled over there and tell me Low-risk.....
  18. ok...this is prolly wrong to many, but if I have 4 ahead of me..and no one behind me.. I 'm like a kid at Christmas..I get to hit as many balls as I can hit, before moving on..yep, onlty the 1st one counts but the on-course practice is priceless to me. especially if I get to hit driver shots !! whoo-hoo!!! I'll hit a doz if I can get 'em in...2nd shots on par 5s too.... I do understand the time aspect, but only to a degree... because somewhere, sometimes, especially in golf, we mustn't be ruled by the clock or time limitations( beyond cousre established playing times.)...it's there to enjoy and take total advantage of. I'll gladly offer to let a single thru if i'm playing 4 somes, but I LIKEW being the caboose.... fire for effect!!!
  19. Thanks folks...it seems to be coming around a little....all the vids are excellent...Thanks again
  20. I started the game in my mid-40s..I didn't break 70 in 9 months..... or 9 yrs either for that matter....
  21. ...like to Argentina...........Jeesh. Ihave no idea where or how it left, but it's gone. I have enough room on my hillside yard to practice chipping up to 60 yds....and it's all i done for years..long before I could hit any real golf shot. got decent...a man should after time. then I wanted to REALLY hit the ball right with alll clubs. after 2 months of playing with my scratch-golfer co-worker, I now can hit the ball decent enough for me...straight (er) with decent length on irons, so-so length with woods...and the driver is an evil menace not yet conquered, but improvement is coming.. anyway..time for a new wedge...wore out about 3 Wilsons over the yrs..ok ..new wedge...1st chip.... huh???.... ok try this again..set up correctly...chip....WHAT THE #^$#%$&^ is goin' on here??? 3rd attempt is worse yet.now I've lost all mental anything about the very thing I've practiced for years.... after 3 frustrating days trying to re-gain what I had, I'm at a loss. the last few days in the yard, after a long, hot day in the sun @ work( I'm a gardener for the VA Hospital where I work) I have NO patience for this foolishness, and have gotten near the point of losing composure several times and have had to walk away. I have always done what is known as the Hinge and Hold , and now about every shot goes 45* right... just about every time, with different wedges... and it's driving me crazy... these are newbie results, not results from someone whos' hit thousands of these shots on this hillside...WHERE DID IT GO ???? anyone seeing it, I'll give a small reward for it's return....................................... Good Grief........
