Foursome I play with, we play $2 a hole. Were all pretty even so it makes it competitive and the most you would be out of if you never won a hole is $36.

I tried it wth my fiance. She was making a concious effort to spend some quality time other than dinner and movies and being at home. She went to the range a few times and enjoyed herself. I tried to teach her some basics and fundamentals but we both got frustrated and it seemed like she was having more fun just hacking away and that's what was important. So I got her a loaner club and let her be. I got her to hit the course with me a few times. She didn't want to hit any balls but she liked driving the cart did want to putt. So I got her a putter from Wal-Mart and when I get on the green. She'll grab a ball and toss it on the green and putt from whereever it lands. She's actually a pretty good putter, much better at it than I am. Good luck and most importantly, have fun.

I too have been anti-hybrid for quite sometime. They weren't around when I learned to play so I learned to hit the long irons. I actually hit the long irons pretty long and straight so I can't complain. But after reading so many articles and reviews I recently bought a 20* hybrid and decided that I would give it a try. I am going to test it out a few rounds to see how functional it will be for me. Chances are it wont be I am going into it with an open mind. I got it a phenomenal price so if I don't like I can sell it with ease. Alot of people swear by them but I think it's a matter of personal preference. Good luck.

Club Recommendations... Advice Needed...

I recently bought a Nickent 3DX Pro Fairway Wood - UST Stiff Shaft... I love it. Its long and accurate and incredible easy to hit. Nickent makes great woods and hybrids. -
I played in the 30's this past Saturday. SUn was out and I was layered up. i actually shot my lowest score of the year. Sun with no breeze aint half bad.

I went and played 18 holes this past Saturday in 40 degree weather. I shot a 7 over for 18 holes. I was stoked. But it came about in a wierd way... I was bombing my driver by my standards, avg. about 280 per drive. But the problem is that EVERY SINGLE DRIVE went right, way right. My normally reliable irons ALL went left. But my short game and putter where i normally lose all my strokes, were dead on. I never had more than a 2 putt on any hole. And I put 90% of my wedge shots within 10ft. So all my drivers went right. I had to aim right with my irons since they were going left and my short game saved the round. It was my worst round all year because there were some strange things going on with my swing but it turned out to be my best round of the year by shooting a 79.

I was having the same problem for a while. I started going to par 3 courses to help with my iron play. It really helped me gauge distances. My biggest problem is wedge and putter play. But par 3 are great way to practice the irons and the cost is a lot less.

I'm getting killed in both of my playoffs. Only a miracle would get me into the playoffs.

Anyone else revamping the bag for the off season?
og512 replied to Laxplayer201092's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I just got new irons (used but new to me) and a 3wood. I am still looking to change drivers if I can find a buyer for my old one and I am looking to pick a 2-Hybrid. -
Lakers Vs. Celtics in the finals again. Lakers in 6 this year.

I just bought one off Ebay for $20. Does anyone or has anyone played with this club? - Nickent 3dx - 15 Degree - UST V2 Stiff Graphite Shaft I did a google search and assuming I get what was advertised I got a helluva club for a helluva price. I typically don't buy a club that I haven't hit but Nickent is a good brand and for $20 I figured it was worth a shot.

100 yards out...what % do you hit the green?
og512 replied to juanrjackson's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
At approx 100yds, I pretty good at hitting the green. Probably about 80% of the time. No bullshit. Where I have problems is inside 60yds. And even though I get on the green, my putting is nothing to be desired. I'm a high handicapper because most of my strokes are lost with my short game and putting. -
Taylor Made Friends and family

i was thinking the same thing but he doesn't play golf. He came across the sale online and decided to take advantage. -
ok. I never thought about it that way. That's makes a lot of sense.

My understanding is that the fundamental difference between a driver and 3 wood is that the driver is gets more distance because of the longer shaft and increased swing speed and the 3 wood is more accurate not as long because of the shorter shaft. {i am assuming the head sizes have less of an impact on distance than the shaft} In theory, wouldn't it be beneficial to put a 3 wood head on a driver length shaft? You get more length than a normal 3 wood but still get the accuracy?
