Tiger was farther from the hole with plenty of spectators and trees between him and Sergio. Here's a clip of the Sergio interview I was distracted a few times today when watching Sergio push down grass behind his ball in the rough before he hit his shot.

Do most greens really break to the west?
uttexas replied to albatross's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
In Japan, putts still break west toward Lake Merced, but only by half; because, as you noted, Merced is closer if you go east. -

It's true, all putts break toward Lake Merced. -

Not many people could consistently recover from his top of the backswing position (way across the line, right elbow very high with lots of separation from the chest) At the very beginning of his backswing, he lifts the club up and away from his body with his arms--very unorthodox His hip and footwork are incredible. I drool over this The hips moving forward at the top of the backswing and leg extension into impact

Average time to play 18 holes, value for money, and customer service are big factors when I select a course.

Phelps' outwardly carefree disposition doesn't bother me. From seven to twenty five years old, when his friends were playing, relaxing, and partying he was probably either training or competing. Being diagnosed with ADHD, Phelps likely needs a strict, demanding coach and schedule to stay focused. The Haney Project has consistently been superficial, scattered ,and piecemealed.

Here's a link to the banned substance list http://assets.sbnation.com/assets/208240/PGATOURANTI-DOPINGPROGRAMMANUAL2009_1_.pdf Many of the banned substances are listed with their chemical/biochemical name--the vast majority of PGA players would have no idea if some natural compound metabolizes to one of these substances. Then there's the question of whether a topical substance actually passes through the dermal layer for metabolism. I find it curious that the list doesn't discuss inject able platelet therapy (I didn't read all 50 pages thoroughly)--very little data proving it's efficacy, but does increase growth factors.

For the past twenty years, most professional athletes (including golfers) have spent plenty of time in the gym. Most people that earn their PGA card are exceptionally competitive. Ultracompetitive people willl often test the grey area. Vijay is fifty years old and already works out harder, stretches more, and practices more than the average PGA tour player. Topical deer antler gel certainly hasn't been proven to be performance enhancing. Deer antler gel has as much validity as magnetic wrist bracelets.

Graeme McDowell will have his best Masters I think two of the South Africans will finish front page leaderboard: Schwartzel and Oosthuizen Dark horses: one of the Swedes either Hanson and (if he qualifies currently #53 owgr) Henrik Stenson

Gary Player. He achieved greatness that surpassed his natural talent level. At 5'6'', he won nine majors in the Palmer/Nicklaus era. He didn't have the physical gifts of Nicklaus, Palmer, Trevino, or Watson, but outworked them. Many of the games' greats say they could have won more majors, but Player won more than he should have through willpower and fitness. Player isn't love able, but I admire his relentless tenacity.

Rory quitting on his ninth hole, not good. Lame wisdom tooth excuse makes it worse. My first thought was regarding his caddie. I wonder if his caddie urged him to finish the round or just kept quiet. Some might say a caddie is there to just hand the player his clubs, but an experienced caddie could give a young golfer good advice in difficult situations. Rory now faces an even steeper uphill battle to be embraced by the American public. He should be mentally prepared for some goof off yelling "Dentist" or "Molar" when he tees off at the next tournament.

Men's Golf HOF PGA criteria from wiki (there's also separate Champions Tour, International, Lifetime achievement, and Veterans criteria) PGA Tour Current and former PGA Tour and Champions Tour players are eligible for this ballot if they meet the following requirements (beginning with 1996 election): PGA Tour Minimum of 40 years old PGA Tour member for 10 years 10 PGA Tour wins or two wins in the majors or Players Championship Election requirements: Years % of returned ballots needed for election 1996–2000 75% 2001–2003 65% 2004–present 65%, in the event that no candidate receives 65%, the nominee receiving the most votes with at least 50% is elected A few things stand out. Ten PGA tour wins isn't enough (107 players in PGA history meet that requirement) Players Championship equals a major--doesn't sit right with me. The 2004 change that if no candidate receives 65%, the nominee receiving the most over 50% gets in--kind of wimpy

Recommend House of Cards on Netflix. Usually not a fan of political dramas, but HoC has interesting themes, great acting, and strong plot development.

Jimmy Clay http://austintexas.gov/department/jimmy-clay-golf-course Roy Kizer http://austintexas.gov/department/roy-kizer-golf-course Can't go wrong with either--they are next door to each other, I believe sharing the same clubhouse. -
If you are staying in Chandler, I recommend the Gold Canyon courses. Keep in mind that it's peak season in PHX http://www.gcgr.com/sites/courses/custom.asp?id=985&page;=57236
