1. I realize it's very early to be contemplating this, but I thought it would be a fun discussion. The options I generated played in three or more Ryder Cups, with winning point percentages >.40 My choice would be Hale Irwin: Strong under pressure--Three US Open wins, Clinched US victory at '91 Kiawah in the final match against Langer Understands the team concept--Two all Big Eight cornerback for University of Colorado, Captained the 1994 President's Cup team to victory Excellent Ryder Cup record 13-5-2 over 5 Ryder Cups .70point % Well respected by others, the best Champions Tour (Senior PGA) player of all time.
2. They should defer to the golf club local rules on this one. Augusta National--gotta wear pants Bethpage--knee length shorts permitted. Best shorts in pro golf (Ladies European Tour)
3. Fifty degree gap wedge for sure--very versatile club. I use my 50* GW all the time (from 115-130, from 100yd if into a strong wind, long bunker shots, shots around the green) Might use my 3H once per round. Rockbottomgolf has the Scratch 8620 in 50 degrees with 10* of bounce for $59 right now http://www.rockbottomgolf.com/scratch-golf-8620-milled-chrome-wedge.html
4. Restating what Jamo posted. Moving the hands forward moves the downswing arc and the low point more forward=promotes striking the ball with the clubhead traveling more in to out. When the ball is on the ground, you want to strike the ball before the low point. The clubhead is moving down and out until the low point is reached. So, if you strike the ball before the low point in the center of the clubface (for a righty) the clubhead path is moving down and to the right. So for a righty, if the clubface is more left (closed) than the path (to the right), the ball will curve to the left (draw) Moving the hands forward shifts the path more to the right (for a righty), thus promoting a draw. 5. This drill is helping me with my miss (pull draw/straight draw) If you don't have a mini tire, an empty small range basket works fine.
6. My misses have been pull draws, so I started doing the mini tire drill (see video below). Instead of lugging a tire out to the range, I've been using an empty range basket. Result, more push, less pull. More forward shaft lean and flatter left wrist at impact. Plenty of room for improvement. Need to work on several other things also.
7. From what I've read, a 1/8" diameter Allen wrench or hex-bit fits well into the triangular screw
8. this should help http://thesandtrap.com/a/how-to-add-a-course-to-the-map-and-write-a-review
9. Simply stated, a slice is caused by an out to in swing path, not an open club face. All good advice, definitely post a video. A quick fix (without seeing your swing) would be to close your stance and close your shoulders at address. Odds are you are coming over the top. Closing your shoulders (line from your right shoulder to your left shoulder at address points to the right) and closing your stance will promote a more in to out swing path and enable you to enjoy the game more right away by making an easy change at address. You might continue to slice until you fix the root cause, but less severely.
10. Wow, every fairway hit. Most excellent.
11. Some of the players might be remembering the Charl Schwartzel relief
12.
These guys are good These guys are ssssssssllllllloooooooowwwwwww: Could be my work internet connection and the buffering, but these guys are at a trickling pace.
13. You win with the holy grail of tackiness-- the '76 Maltby Muirifield. That outfit goes all the way to 11, it's one louder.
14. The TSA approved threaded lock secures luggage from opening during ground crew abuse/transit. I've traveled 50+ times with the cargo golf pro and it's TSA threaded lock. The lock secures a pin that keeps the hard lid on top of the travel bag and clubs. The cargo golf pro always comes off the baggage carousel locked and intact. Often, I'll find a piece of paper inside the lid (after unlocking it and opening it to retrieve my clubs) that states the bag was inspected.
15. The TSA approved locks that have worked for me don't require a master key or combination. They are threaded locks that anyone can unlock. My guess is that the men/women in the baggage security check area can't always find the master key, so they just break the lock if it requires a key or combo. The TSA approved lock on the Cargo Golf Pro and other luggage is a threaded lock, where you just turn the nut counter clockwise to unlock (no combination/no key)
16. but still not quite there. I picked up a GD magazine at the airport and read it cover and cover on my flight (usually don't read the instruction misinformation, but I had lots of time). I've been reading GD since the late 80s, and this was the first time I remember lead poison mentioning club face in relation to path. In a nutshell, he said to hit a draw, the club face is to be closed in relation to path. Well, this is a half truth; but to hit the kind of draw most people would want for most situations, the club face is open (to the target), but more closed to the path. This is a detail, but a very important one, that was not mentioned. It's as if the "old guard" is trying to cover their tracks by saying something like "oh, we meant closed to the path all along". Well, if that's what you meant, your most famous students didn't understand your instruction (see Nick Faldo ball flight law videos on this website) Then there's the multiple videos and instruction pieces of you aiming your clubface at the target and closing the stance to hit a push draw.
17. Was unable to make it up to Erie (family obligations). Will try again next year.
18. I addressed post #4
CK gets a 6 for the patriotic camel toe.
19. CK gets a 6 for the patriotic camel toe.
20. Ball first contact is key, so I'd play the ball back in my stance relative to fairway 90yd shot. For a fairway 90yd shot good lie no wind, I'd use a full swing 60 degree LW. For a 90yd bunker shot (middle of bunker no scary lip) I'd hit a 3/4 swing (to enforce feet anchoring) 50 degree GW with the ball back in my stance.
21. I've been using the fully solid/hard Cargo Golf Pro 700 for ten+ years with no problems. Used over 50x on airplanes. Occasionally, I'll get lazy when I return from a trip, and it stays as my regular bag for months at a time (fits on my push cart). Prior to the Cargo Pro, I had a soft nylon shell travel bag. I always had to sign a waiver when using the nylon shell, but never had issues with the hard constructed Cargo Golf Pro. Seen too many ground crews abusing bags to ever consider soft shell golf travel cases/shells.
22. John Daly 10 awesome tacky points. The best part is that the green in the hat doesn't match any of the green in the pants. Adam Scott's rating = zero. solid white pants with solid blue top with solid white hat= boring Popsicle look
