  1. Sorry to do this, but I will have to cancel for Saturday. Was informed today that there is a job opportunity this saturday that I just can't pass up. Money coming in is always better than going out, even if it is for golf. I hope to make a future outing with this group!
  2. The tee time doesn't matter to me. I can make it any time.
  3. I am still good to go for the 15th. -Mike
  4. Hey Guys, I am pretty new to nor cal and just discovered this group. I have caught up on all the posts to this thread and if there is any room on the 15th I would love to play. -Mike
  5. Entered. Hoping I am the lucky one that wins this awesome driver.
  6. My best shot ever came on the 18th at Tustin Ranch Golf Club in so cal. It is a par 4 about 400 yds. with 2 big trees guarding each side of the fairway about 200 yds. out. I hit my tee shot right into the left tree and ricocheted back so I was directly behind it. The green has 3 tiers with water front and left and a front pin. I hit a slinging 3 iron from about 210 around the tree, over the water, and even though I didn't actually see the ball land and finish, was told that it went onto the edge of the 2nd tier, sat there for a while and then rolled back down to finish 6in. from the cup. Made the easy birdie putt and called it a day.
  7. Bridgestone: Driven to fit your game
  8. I could use a tour striker because maybe for the first time in history, a man can teach his significant other golf without any arguements. Just figure out a way to hit it straight and consistant and you will be a good ball striker.
  9. I won a free swing evaluation once. They interview you to find out any flaws in your game, film your swing, analyze your swing, and fix your setup. From there, they will pressure you to buy into one of their plans. I wasn't really looking to purchase any lessons, just use my free swing eval so the latter was more annoying.
  10. Still being a student, I only voted for the "cost too much" option. I would love to have feedback from somebody that knows what they are talking about and can help me get better but it just costs too much.
  11. No, only 8, 9, 10.5, and 12 degrees. This is true for right and left hand. If the r11 says 9.5, it is a fake.
  12. The shaft looks like it flexes like it does because of the way that the camera assembles the picture as it takes it. The video of tiger's swing was probably taken with a better camera and therefore doesn't look like it is flexing to the max. If you look in the most recent issue of golf digest, there are swing sequences of robert garrigus and brittany lincicome (both considered long hitters in their respective tours) and their shaft at impact looks exactly like yours.
  13. Yea, I know how to get rid of the pain, it is just getting myself to do it. It is kind of like asking an athlete to use the cold whirlpool because it will be beneficial for them, but you know that if you were in their shoes, there is a less than 1% chance that you would get into that whirlpool.
  14. Posterior lower extremity is all extremely tight (gastroc/soleus, hamstrings, glutes, hip ext. rotators) which is not currently doing wonders for my low back. I know that I should stretch, but almost being a certified athletic trainer, I find it is easier to help somebody else fix their pains than it is to fix your own pains.
  15. Thanks everyone. I decided to stick with my natural swing and shot a 72 (74.0/133) even par today. This is the least I have ever thought about my swing and my best score I have shot in a while.
  16. Thanks Iacas for your response. That is kind of the mindset that I was leaning towards because I seem to play the best when the swing thoughts are low and the shot making thoughts are high. I will try and get a video of my swing, both natural and "stack and tilt" and post them on here and see which one looks fundamentally better. I have had other videos posted in other threads but I have changed so many aspects since then that those videos are irrelevant.
  17. Hey Guys, I have noticed that my "natural" swing does involve some of the "stack and tilt" components, but not all of them. I do however am able to learn from watching video and can (in my mind) perform a very good "stack and tilt" swing with all the components. My question is, should I think to swing more "stack and tilt" and perform all of the components or just swing naturally and passively perform some of the components? I tried hitting some "stack and tilt" shots last night at the range with the whole flying wedge, hands deep on the backswing and hit some good shots. I feel that I can repeat this swing, it just takes more swing thoughts and my current one for my natural swing which is turn my left shoulder behind the ball (I do stay centered on my backswing). Thanks for your advice.
  18. I don't see why your local store cannot order one for you. The shaft should fit since they are all the same 910 tip.
  19. If you are interested in a Ping driver, there is no place better than the Ping headquarters. They offer a free first come-first served custom fitting monday-friday from 7:30-3:30. They will fit you with the club you like in their indoor fitting system, then you can leave a credit card with them and take the club to the range to see the ball flight.
  20. I would love to see some tee time deals in the Los Angeles area.

  22. I was wondering when Iacas was going to chime in. I couldn't wait to hear what he had to say about this topic.
