  1. No sir I didn't. It was the stock fuji I believe. I actually liked the shaft better in the R9, my NV feels a little wippy for an Xstiff. But you're right, shafts make a huge impact. My gripes were more with the head feel than anything else.
  2. HAHA. Those were my top 3 as well. I really liked all three. I was scared of the weight moving gizmo on the mizuno thugh. Im going to hit the ft-9 and now the DYMO and see if anything changes. I might just be too stubborn to buy a new driver and wait for the reincarnation of the 975J, the only driver I loved like a child.
  3. Yeah! A hot wife!![/QUOTE] Yes exactly!
  4. Focus on your putting. Unless you have lied, you can hit a golf ball decent. I've played a lot fo tourny golf and lose focus on the greens. Focus on your putting, which lets your swing free up. The first tee is a manic nightmare for me, so I like to take a 3/4 swing and just think balance. Again, hardest shot of the day will e your first, so once your past that let your game take over.
  5. is your miss a push fade?
  6. I personally think Plyo's and good streching (Yoga) are the best for my game. P90 (assuming) has that incorporated so I say go for it. Also, after seeing the size of TW's biceps, maybe power lifting?
  7. I wasn't there, but to play college golf you have to have talent, ESPECIALLY with golf academies starting at age -3. Regardless if you have been trained by Leadbetter, or you hit into a barn on your farm, to play at that high of a level you need talent. To get your swing looking like Iron Byron takes practice. And what about putting?!
  8. Just my opinion. Sergio loves it apparently. I do not. I also think for the average weekend warrior changing too many specs on a driver can be detrimental. TaylorMade is notorius for giving the illusion that on ecan buy a game. My 2 cents. And no, I did not buy the club.
  9. My rhetoric is more defensible than your rhetoric. I feel bad for the guy who asked the question and got a display of debate. I like the sky caddie. Lasers I find to be like riverologist, more bullshit than anything.
  10. yea whats ur point? g2g ttyl
  11. Both. the club felt dead, if you will. Im currently hitting an old Macgregor, but it feels hot. taylormade's traditionally have "hot' faces but have lacked a workability, in m opinion. The R9 was dead. The launch monitor showed me losing distance compared to my old driver as well. I like the look a a more traditional driver, which the Tylormade gave me, but it didn't give me results. I'm gonna cross my fingers for the ft-9, but if it doesn't give me results, I might just save a lot of money and not update the old boom stick.
  12. Hit the Taylormade R9 today. The club set up very nice, lloked great at address, and had a nice hue ot its crown. It hit it and was devastated. The driver I was waiting 6 months for felt awful. I will not be buying a new driver this year it lloks like. For those of you who have tried it....discuss your thoughts!
  13. chambers bay, bandon dunes, pacific dunes, and cyprus
  14. if you love the driver head, keep it, get a shaft, a shaft will always be more important, i play a really old head, with a (slightly) newer shaft. Im updating my shaft soon as well. As far as the irons go, go with your gut. Some pro's play the ignites, some play blades, some play combo sets. Do what you want, just dont think bc your handicap is down you cant hit cavity backs, bc lets be realistic, EVERYONE could use some forgiveness on the course. Closing thought. You could play with old 1932 irons and the only thing that really should matter is how you roll the rock. Putting will always be the most important part of your game.
  15. you almost start your swing with your weight on your heels too, maybe try a more balanced athletic address of the ball
  16. poppy Hills Bandon/pacific dunes Desert Willow Torrey and of course, pacific grove golf links, seriously the best back nine in golf, soooooo much fun
  17. yes. its golf man. you should always jump on oppurtnities to play golf. Just really zone in on your putting. You dont have to hit the ball well to score well. AND ITS GOLF! yes
  18. ive played mizunos, scratch, hogans, titelist, kzg, the best feeling irons are miuras...period obviously this is one persons opinion, but its the truth! also, the bridgestone irons we pretty sweet my friends
  19. a shift in technique away from reverse c, saving the backs of the masses
  20. shafts on tour model drivers tend to have a higher kickpoint as well, this is bc better players dont need as much help getting the ball airborne
  21. titelist < mizuno < miura ----the truth
  22. shit happens, be thankful its only a 1-3 yard draw, best players in the worold cant have their stuff all the time, learn to play with what you got man, if thats your worste problem you are in fine shape
  23. the biggest things you can do to drop your handicap once your below 18 are a. roll the rock....i can not stress how much more important the short game is than your long game, on the whole b. mental game....read a book by Bob Rotella, pick a guys brain who is MUCH better than you, take your medicine when need be....some of the best improvements to my game came from seeing what better players did than I didnt c. have a go to shot, under pressure, know you have hit a high draw or low fade ect. have the "go to" shot when you can really count on it, this should be your natural, favorite shot once you have your fundamentals down, these are three areas where you can catalyze the process
  24. You are rediculous, adrenaline can do amazing things, and Tiger was the strongest pound for pound athlete to go thru Stanford. He doesn't need steroids with what he has going for him. he has something much better than steroids.
  25. miuras are the finest blade ive ever hit, and ive hit them all, they a EXPENSIVE, i found my used (or stolne?) for very cheap, hogan makes a great blade as well
