Wow...got home in time to catch the end of the tournament on Sunday. Caught the Steve Williams interview at the end. I was shocked to see him win a tournament. I heard him talking about it being his biggest win since he's been out on the tour. He was also talking about how nervous he was when he got up on Sunday morning. No wonder he split from Tiger, I guess he fiqured he could beat him so he would just go ahead and win himself. Amazing!!!!!!! BTW.....Was that Adam Scott caddying for him. Man, I miss one week away on vacation and amazing things happen on the PGA tour. These guys really are good!

There are good deals in Myrtle Beach you just have to look. If you just check a individual course rate there very high. The best way is a package deal. A few years ago I got a package deal thru the group that handles Glen Dornoch, Heather Glen and Possum Trot..All very nice courses. I think the group is called The Glens Group. I had a summer rate of 99 bucks for 3 rounds in the AM. I'm sure its more expensive in the spring, but I would bet they still have a deal. There's other groups down there also, I know The Witch is in with a few other courses also. Do a little internet work and I'm sure you can save a bundle!!!!! Good luck, Joe PS>My group goes every year and I'm allready looking forward to October to get down there!!!

Glad for the Pack......Anybody who loves football has got to be happy for the Packers!!!! I'm not a true fan, but I have always considered them to be my NFC team since my team is in the AFC. It's good to see GOOD beat EVIL every once in a while. Enjoy your victory! Joe

Thats not it...I signed for a 5 which is what I had. As Iacas pointed out earlier you are responsible for your hole by hole score which I allready knew. This wasn't my first tournament. The problem was that the number that my opponent wrote down on the 18th hole was interpreted by the committee to be a 3 not a 5. My argument was that if it was a 3 my total score would have been 2 strokes lower than what was written. I told them that I thought my opponent had wrote a 5 down and that is what I stood by. I was only using the total score as a point of reference. Unfortuatley, my opponent didn't play that well and said he had someplace to go and he split as soon as the round was over so I didn't have him there to verify what he had written down. What it came down to was that this was a local public tournament and my 75 put my in first place iin the A division. The tournament had a few local boys from that course in the tournament and they didn't play as well. The committee needed to look out for there own... No problem. This happened about 7 years ago and I have never played in any of there events since. I don't plan on giving them any more of my hard earned cash.

Official Big Break Dominican Republic thread

Alot to cram into 1 hour. Although, I personally didn't care for the team format this year, I'm still looking forward to the final episode. I really enjoyed looking at Sara this year, but, I would bet thats a lot of maintenance right there. -
I got disqualified once for signing a incorrect scorecard. My opponent who was keeping my score had the worse handwritting in the world. I signed the card for a total score 75 which was the correct score. The committee of the tournament questioned my score for the 18th hole, which was a 5. They said that it looked like a 3. I explained the scorekeepers writing was terrible. The said the other holes that he wrote down were readable and it looked like a 3 not a 5. I told them if it was a 3 it would have been a eagle and my final score would have been 73 not 75. After argueing for 5 minutes I lost. I have never played in another tournament sponsored by these folks since.

I really like my new Titleist AP-2's.....Give em a try!!! Joe

I'm with Shades above.... On our Myrtle Beach trip every year we do it at least once. Stay up and party all night and then go straight to the course. You can allway sleep after your round is done!!!!!!

When my son played Junior Golf tournaments there was a local kid who's mother allways came to his tournaments. She would rent a cart and watch her son play. She would drive ahead and act as a spotter. Funny, she would only spot her son's ball. One tournament I noticed that she had 3 balls in the ball holder of the cart. He son would hit a shot in the woods and she would allways find his ball while the group was walking up from the tee. I noticed that the ball supply in the cart was getting smaller with each stray shot he hit.... You can draw your own conclusions, but, I'm pretty sure what was happening!!! -
CONGRADS!!!!! Its a great feeling isn't it....I shot 68 last year and couldn't believe it...Can't wait for it to happen again! Enjoy and have a cold one on me... Joe

I am a 5-6 handicap and I have shot even par 3 times. Last year I shot a 4 under par 68 at Pine Ridge Golf Course in Baltimore. That was by far my greatest moment....34 on the front and 34 on the back. I had 14 pars and 4 birdies and only missed one green. It felt great...I sure hope it happens again some time. Joe

jmorse,,,Thanks for the reply.... Bobcat Trail looks nice and reasonably priced at 69 bucks. No bad for this time of the year....Looks like it's pretty hard to find a decent course under 100 bucks. Appricate the advise,,, Joe -
I will be in Punta Gorda next month. Any recommendations on public courses to play? Thanks, Joe

Does anybody know if Titleist has started shipping these irons yet. There website says mid November. I ordered mine 3 weeks ago and I'm getting a little anxious to get them. Thanks, Joe

I'm pulling for Andrew....I allways go for the underdog and I think he may be the best golfer there. Blake needs to go. He's the worse golfer there and the biggerst cry baby in Big Break history. How would you like to play 18 holes with him? I would probably put my foot you know where after the first 9. Joe

[QUOTE=Shorty;385748]What a ludicrous proposition. WOW....What an intelligent statement with big words also......I'm impressed!! Now,,,back to the thread.....yes. I did try some blades,,,Mizuno and Titleist..I'm not that great of a ball striker to appreciate the blades...I started this game with oversize clubs so for me to go to a blade is quite a adjustment..... I just like the feel of the AP2's when I put them in my hand.....They also feel sweet when you hit em in the sweet spot, but it's been my experience that all the clubs I tried felt great when I hit the sweet spot. Good luck with your purchase, Joe

[QUOTE=timastyle;384459]So those irons feel fairly close to a Vokey wedge? I tried out the AP1 and AP2 irons and didn't like they very much. I just didn't bother with any other set of Titleist irons. I can't get over finding this thread.....This is exactly what I have been going thru...I even own the same irons...x-22 Tours with Rifle 6.0 shafts.... I have the same feelings about my Vokey wedges....I went to the store I deal with, which is a local Driving range....I tried to explain how I wanted a iron that feels like my Vokey wedges...I currently have a 52 and 58 Vokey,2009 spin mill wedge.....Its hard to explain to the pro what I'm looking for as far as feel...They ask a lot of questions but it hard to explain that you just want a iron that just generally feels like the Vokey when you pick it up.... I tried everything....I ended up ordering the AP2's with Dynamic Gold S300 shafts....When I picked the iron up it had the feel I was looking for...When you hit it sweet,,,,it has a great feel... I bought the 5-9 irons....I also purchased a 48 Vokey and had it bent to 47 to match the AP2's....Can't wait to get them...Probably will be the end of the month since I ordered the 2010 model which are supposed to ship the end of this month..... Good luck with your search....I know the feeling!!!!!!

They're all really nice courses. Your in for some nice golf courses. I really enjoyed playing Heritage in the spring 2 years ago. The ride in and the azalea's will remind you of Augusta. The accomondations at the Legends Resort are nice. Kind of like a English Village setting. Legends has probably the nicest practice facility on Myrtle Beach. Enjoy your trip. I go every year, 24 is a good number for a Myrtle trip... Joe
