  1. whats your ball striking like? if your consistently good throughout you irons then playing off 5 you shouldnt have a problem using 67s and they would give you the ultimate feel and control of any iron, not just mizuno. if its not great with the longer irons then maybe you should look at getting say 3-6 in 52s or 57s and then 7-PW in 62s or 67s, this would give you the forgiveness in the long irons without sacrificing much feel and the control and feel that you need in the short irons hope this helps
  2. Guys im in need of some help here: Im playing off 3 just now and really looking to have a good season this year. Im beginning to get back into playing again after taking a break over the winter, mainly due to the weather being so crap! however im not really sure what sort of drills i should be doing. My biggest weakness is accuracy, especially with the scoring clubs, it may stem from poor alignment however im not quite sure. I mean im fine with hitting the greens but i never seem to be able to get it close. I am never left with birdie putts of less than 15-20ft. i also struggle with distance control with the scoring clubs too. Is there any good drills or tips that anyone knows that could help me? thanks in advance
  3. i would say the reason yours seems so much is because you spent 900 euros on your irons, that seems a bit steep to me. at least it would be with the current exchange rate!
  4. Driver - £279 3Wood - £152 Hybird - £119 Irons - £480 Wedges - £180 Putter - £60 Total = £1270 and thats with my discount as an employee of American Golf, would have been over £1600 otherwise!!
  5. its gotta be the MP-67s, classic look, great feel, amazing control and give you an awesome ball flight
  6. always take it off for putting, i find you lose a lot of the feel and in that the ability to judge weight correctly. never take it off for chipping though!
  7. is it the tp head? if not then stay away, sits far too closed in my opinion great shaft however if you can hit it. i had the standard superquad for all of 3 months and it spent 2 of them back at T/made, 2 cracked heads and a rattle, seemed very shoddy quality to me
  8. voted titleist as i used to have a full set of titleist and thought they were great. still use the woods as they lightyears ahead of every other manufacturer in that area. regret big time having given my newport to the old man but oh well, looking to get a fastback in the next few weeks from the rep. However in reality i would NEVER give up my 67's the feel is just non-comparable
  9. that however in my opinion is the only advantage of having a rangefinder over a skycaddie. If you cant hold your hands completely steady then it can be hell trying to pick up small targets like pins. also from 200 yards away you could easily think your pointing at the flag but actually its reading the yardage to the trees off the back of the green because your just off target with the scope. Id take the skycaddie over any rangefinder everyday of the week just for ease of use and reliability
  10. Took out the 5 wood, didn't have any use for it before hand anyway, as i was hitting my hybrid nearly as far as it anyway Adding the 56* wedge to the bag has paid off big time i must say! Ive shaved 3 strokes off my score just from having a club that can bridge that gap between the 52 and 60!
  11. i couldn't agree more! its a great glove, classic look and great soft feel, only downside is that it doesn't last very long, i need to buy a new one every month or so!!
  12. Not very good IMO don't get anywhere near the same amount of feel as the ProV1/x or the Callaway Tour i/x Shown in the fact that at the Buick Invitational 85% of the T/Made staff players where not using the TP balls!
  13. Goals For 2009: Get my handicap down to 1 or better Win at least one of my 2 clubs championship Find the perfect putter (fat chance of that happening ) Practice much much much more Think i have a good shot at them all except maybe No. 3
