I realized this as I read more stuff this morning. I'll be returning the dremel if I can find the gift receipt for it and try to find a relatively affordable bench grinder. Turns out out I can find blanks online to which is cool. Gonna try my hand at it, the concept itself seems very easy, but I'm sure actually doing it will be somewhat tough. I'll update once I get wedge to Grind.

So i played with a guy the other day and we went out and bought some cheap wedges and grinding down everything so it was completely bare and I loved how blank it was. A perfect canvas to put whatever stamping I wanted on a club. I don't have many tools at home but I was gifted a dremel4000 set that I've actually never used and I wanted to try my hand at it. I know it will strip weight from the club, and that's ok because I'll add tape as I need to when I'm finished. I just want a completely blank clubhead. Ive searched different forums and read the instructions for the dremel and I need a bit of help. I just want to know what attachment to use to Grind off the logos. I imagine the actual cutting wheel would be a bit much so I'm guessing the super heavy grit sanding bit for it but I don't want to screw it up horribly my first go around

85 :( I played this course before (river pointe country club) when it was wet and didn't think much of the undulations in the green because they were so slow. Layout was beautiful on 2/3 of the 27 holes with 2 par 3s that remind me a lot of 12 at Augusta to a small extent. Anyways, I played their again yesterday and these greens were fast and very punishing and really made me realize I'm not as good as I was. These greens were very similar (I assume) to what I watch on tv and I loved it. I had 34 putts which was terrible but I just had a hard time trusting a shorter stroke. I am more proud of this 85 that I am of the 75s I've shot this year so far. Super fun stuff and I am pretty much only going to play they this year. That said, chipping was ok and pitching was ok. The tp5 ball I am def switching too. I drove the ball extrmely well due to a slight change but this ball seemed to give a bit added distance. Only downside (which I attribute more to fast greens than the ball after just one round) I got no bite really on shots out of the rough, but out of the fairway I was able to generate a lot of spin with my wedges. Even flew a green on my second shot of a 530 yard par 5. My my score doesn't really show how well I think I played but given the greens and layout of the course, I am super happy after having a fag to think about it. Can't wait to break 80 on the course.

Shot 75 today. 39 on the front (+3) and 36 on the back (0) struck my irons very well but had horrid lines. Driving was pretty nice. Chipping and pitching left a lot to be desired but I putt really well. Also had had my first eagle ever which was awesome. About a 14 footer breaking from right to left. Thought i I was going to shoot mid 80s after I started bogey, bogey, bogey on the back but battled back with eagle par birdie on the last three holes to bring it to even for the 9. I'm really happy with how I'm putting. I need to keep that up the whole year

Played this tough par 3 track today. Shot 3 over (30) I only hit two greens in reg (lipped both of those birdie putts out) but I putted lights out and dropped a few 8 footers to save par. 13 putts. Pretty happy.

Might be Looking into a Launch Monitor
dsal89 replied to dsal89's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
The swing caddie is only like 350 bucks which isn't bad and from reviews I've read is pretty accurate so I'd be happy w that. I'd just hate to have a certain swing practiced for a 75 yard shot and the execute it in the course and have it fall 10 yards short -
Apologize in advance if this was something that was easy to find. I didn't find an answer with a google search that satisfied me. Im really like the way my game is coming a long and I'd like to get an inexpensive launch monitor (swing caddie sc300) but all the courses I would practice or play at have either older balls and range balls for the driving range. I assume I'd likely see a difference in driver distance but I don't know how much and I'm not sure what I'd expect out of the numbers with my irons with range balls vs my game balls. I'm mostly interested in my distances with irons and a lot interested it seeing actual distances for my wedges and be able to chart that but I don't want to invest the money in a launch monitor if my practice and data won't translate well to an actual round of golf. Thanks in advance for any input

39 on the front 34 on the back for a 73. 1 over par. Best round of golf I have ever played. Had 26 putts which was really nice especially after switching putters. drained a 12 footer for par on 17 and knew that 18 was a par 5 and I definitely had a good shot at making birdie. Pushed my drive right, hit a horrible lay up and a mediocre shot into the green and ended up two putting for par so that was a bit disappointing really looking forward ward to the rest of the year

First time out this year and I shot 79 (8 over) didn't have driver in the bag as I'm still waiting for he epic to arrive so it was 3 wood only and man was I crushing it and it felt great. Didnt putt well (32 putts) but struck the ball pretty well. Putting and pitching need work but I couldn't expect anymore from the first day on the course this year.

I play a 915 d2. I was fitted for it and I'm not extremely accurate with it but the results are consistent with shot dispersment so I have it in my bag. Generally I hit around 260 carry which I'm pleased with. Most other drivers I tried on launch monitors were a tad shorter and none really longer except one. The Callaway xr16. For some reason my misfits were just as far as my current titleist model but my bombs far surpassed anything I could do w the titleist. No idea why there is such a huge difference (about 30 yards) just curious what club you guys play or have it that just performs so much better than any club that is the same?

Little pitching wedge from about 130 out. Hit below the pin bounce a foot pass and stopped on a time. Easy tap in. That's probably my favorite and most memorable shot.

Chrome Soft Balls
dsal89 replied to Strat-Pack Rick's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
Agree w other posters. I hope the ball doesn't change too much. Loved the '16 version and my 130 and in game changed so much and I hit a lot more quality shots when I switched to the chrome soft. -
I now game the 2016 Newport. But in the last I've games a Newport 2 without an insert, a studio design, and a circa 62 and the 2016 Newport is my favorite. Feels muted which I like and the sound I enjoy more than non inserts I've used. For me, I recommend the 2016 but that is simply my preference for feel in a putter.

Thanks! I've shot in the 70s a few times this year and they all seem to just happen and everything just clicks. I've also shot a 91 this year. Most of my issue come from how well I drive that day. I've been horrible at extending my arms and rolling the wrists and usually stay tucked and slice the ball or just smother it and pull it. I only get to play 2 times a month now so I had a lot of reflection and watch a lot of videos and took a few practice swings throughout my off time and it helped. I was able to shape it a bit both ways which was great too. And my 71 is really just a 75 at a normal sized course and I'm sure that is more than a dream for you! After I broke 90 good scores seemed to pour in. It'll happen to you

Played at a new course today. Tee boxes and fairways not in the best condition but I'm guessing that's because of the season and how late it is here in Indiana (36 degrees today) but the greens were real nice! shot a 71 (par 68) which is my best score relative to par ever. Drove the ball well, irons were really good for the most part and I putt well. I'll def play here again. Great course to practice in. Dog legs left and rights for the tee shots. I flirted w shooting par but really have it away at the end.

76. Drove the ball extremely well and hit my irons very well. Only had to hit one non flighted shot all day and that was to clear a tree with a pw. Putted decent and chipped decent. My downfall were both of those things but overall I'd take my putting today and improve my chip distance control a bit better.
-
Played pretty well yesterday. My only downfall was my putting which was upsetting. Many performance has been shaken since I've been playing less since the wife works more now. I went from mid to low 80s with a few high 70s mixed in to shooting mid to high 80s or low low 90s. I got out for 9 yesterday and worked on hitting low trajectory, controlled irons shots and I hit 5/9 greens which is an improvement for me. My misses were either small pushes right or one that just trickled off and I was in the fringe. I drove the ball well as well hitting 5/7 fairways. My chipping was decent but could use work. Overall I'm happy with the performance

Been playing less because wife is working more but I got out today and go to the range about 1 and a half hours early and worked on this and loved my flights with the 7iron on up to pw and decided to put it in play since my irons have been poor since I've been playing less. I hit 6/9 greens which is really great for me and I hit all my approach shots with a flighted swing and shot a 40 for 9. It just controls the ball so well and tons of spin which helps hold a lot of back pins. I don't know if I'll go back to full iron swings from 7 iron on up. So happy with my performance. My lack of playing showed in my putting though, missed a ton of 5 footers and missed all 6 birdie putts I had which was frustrating

This is my first post outside of anything golf related so my apologies for disrupting regular posters in here. Had some Revolution Brewing Anti hero ipa earlier and then had a glass of balvenie double wood and now enjoying a glass of balvenie single barrel 15 year old. ...about to order some cheese bread too. Pretty stoked right now Backwoods bastard is great. Kbs used to be a really great thing. Cbs is still the best barrel aged offering they've done imo. if beer touches barrel though, lambic is the way to go.

Congrats man! It really is a great feeling! It it has shot me in the foot a bit since then because I feel all this pressure I put on myself to play extremely well and when I don't it is frustrating. Couple times now I've shot a 39 on the front and am playing pretty darn well then just collapse on the back 9
-
Shot an 82 which is one stroke better than my average but it was ugly. The front 9 was really good and could have been great. Shot a 39 with a 6 hole stretch where I shot 1 I've with 3 pars, 2 birdies, and a double bogey that should have been w par but I 3 putted like an idiot. The next 12 holes really did me in though and ruined any chances I had of something memorable. I got in my own head. Mended my round w a chip in birdie which was nice though. My game felt super sharp yesterday except for putting around 4-7 feet.

Oh No NOT another Blade iron thread?!?!
dsal89 replied to kuyarey's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
My advice is play w what you are comfortable w and what you like the most. I almost didn't get my ap2 irons last year because I was scared into thinking it was more of a better players club. I hit them fine and love the way they fee and look and might end up getting a set of muscle back titleists next year when they release new ones.
