  1. But it just fuels the fire. Now he gets painted negatively in the media and is still going to be pushed on the topic. I know its kind of a no win situation for him but the way he came across I think is that is driving the media frenzy. He could have come out looking good and still not had to answer the question but when he shot back it just makes the whole situation worse.
  2. Totally agree that it is his prerogative to answer or not to answer. Im sure you must agree that if he chooses to not answer it and come across with a prickly demeanour that it will just fuel the fire. Now Tiger was totally thrown to the wolves, so to speak, by his agent and Im sure he is really happy with him. Tiger is under so much pressure for the American public to be #1 again that all the new media crap can't be easy to handle.
  3. I agree that the media pushes and pushes, I'm not surprised that Tiger cracks now and again. However with that said, because of who he is and what he has accomplished he will always be front and center. Its Alex's and other media's job to push for the hard questions and get the answers, kind of journalism 101. For the most part the general public loves to hear about the dirt and what Tiger is doing. Look at golf channel this am its all about Tigers reaction and how he over reacted to the media questions. Even when Tiger is playing like crap he is all the media wants to cover. He could go out and shoot 80 in a major and still be the featured group with shot by shot tv coverage. Which is just fine but the hard questions come with the publicity. Also when tiger doesn't answer the the tough questions it will just make the media ask it more and more.
  4. I think Tiger is one of the greatest golfers ever. However, IMO he needs some serious help when it comes to PR. Look at guys like Phil, Keegan, Donald and even Rory.... when they are up on the stand being ripped or answering a million questions they more times then not will answer and try and keep a good public imagine about them. After Keegan's recent spitting criticism came out, he stood up and owned it and promised to improve himself. Thats a pro and he is a good man for speaking openly about it. He could have pulled a tiger and refused to answer and or pulled out the googley eyes but he owned it. IMO, with they way the media is now a days (and it isn't going to get any easier) I think Tiger would be a lot better off if he would try and answer the tough questions a little better. I know he is under such a microscope but he would seriously make it easier on himself if he would cut down on that I'm better than you attitude. Again this is just my opinion and how I see Tiger coming across. I like Tiger and he is a great golfer.
  5. Here's what I would do if I were in your shoes. I would start a program with your golf coach or club pro, which outlines your short term goals. Making the PGA tour is obviously the dream but we need to be realistic and start somewhere and work are way up. Short term goals that are realistic and achievable will help to build your confidence and with confidence you play better and better golf. At 14yrs old, I would focus on building your swing so you have a solid foundation that you can work with for many years to come. Work hard with a coach on your putting and short game. Hone your skills from 120yrds and in. Strength and conditioning are another key factor that get over looked by most. PGA tours for the most part are true athletes and your body is essential to every part of your game. I would get yourself set up with a trainer who can set up a good work out routine and stretching routine. Playing under pressure situations is what competitive golf is all about. You need to be comfortable in tournaments and playing under the gun. I would get yourself into as many Junior events/ high school events as possible and continue improve your tournament play. Even when your out practicing and playing with friends, try and bring some sort of pressure into the game. Try and play your friends for golf balls and stuff like that. You have always got to have something in mind that is your goal for the round. When your at the range and putting green try and find little things that will make you work. Anyways I hope this helps and just practice, practice, practice. You can achieve whatever you want at your age as long as you have the support and work ethic to make your dreams come true. You will struggle and thrive along the way but just keep at it. Let me know if you have any other questions.
  6. Take that SJ fans!! Too bad Luongo had to let in his 2 bad goals a game routine but that was a hell of a win. DOMINATION! Now all we need is a split in SJ and its all over. fingers crossed.
  7. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a Van and BOS final. TB just has a lot of hype because of Stamkos. Once BOS is healthy they will be the better team.
  8. I made comments about MTL and BOS series but thats because I was pulling for the Habs. I couldn't careless about the PHI and BOS series and just to piss you off I want the Lighting to win in 4! LOL no honestly, I just think that TB has a more deadly offence but the Bruins have size, solid D and a good goalie. It will be a 7 gamer IMO.
  9. 1-0 for the Canucks, here we go. Its crucial to get the 2-0 lead heading back to SJ. This should be a 7 game series but if the Canucks can get a 2-0 lead and then split in SJ, then they are rolling.
  10. I am not sure if the Bruins have a chance like some of you may think. TB will be a lot for them to handle and the Bruins are looking a little deflated. Roloson is hot right now and with the fire power up front that the Lighting have the Bruins will need a lot from their D and Thomas.
  11. I totally agree, putting is very mental. You need to feel comfortable with putter and your stroke, they both need to blend organically. It can be as simple as a degree here or there or an inch taller or shorter. I would recommend taking a read through Dave Pelz putting bible and other books. I have read them many times and it can be a huge help when trying to work out the mechanics and simplifying the putting stroke. So I would highly recommend you go and get your putter fitted, its the most important club you have and I find it gets over looked.
  12. Well I have been looking and working with a few local reps and a club fitter in search of my perfect putter. One thing I hate is switching putters and I have only done it twice in the last 12 years. I have been searching and trying new putters for over a year now and I have finally got it to my final 2 choices. Option 1 - Odyssey protype 82, customized to 33", 1 degree flat and 325g weight http://www.odysseygolf.com/global/en-us/products/putters/limited-edition/pt-82.html Option 2 - Odyssey Black Series tour Design #8, customized to 33'', 1 degree flat and 325g weight, I also will add a white sight similar to the look for the protype 82 . http://www.odysseygolf.com/global/en-us/products/putters/black-series-tour-designs/black-series-tour-designs-8-putter.html I am fortunate to have some financial help from my local Callaway rep who has been nice enough to give me a steal of a deal. Its been great going through the whole putter fitting process that IMO gets over looked by most golfers when buying a putter. Since putting is such an important part of the game I would highly recommend going through this process whether you are looking for a new putter or if you would just like to help your putting improve. As Dave Pelz says, "Most people change there stroke to fit their putter and not adjust their putter to fit their stroke". The most improvement I have seen from going through this fitting is more consistent putts and my putts roll along my intended line a lot smoother and more accurate on my misses and makes. I also notice a big difference in confidence when you can setup to a putt and make your stroke without feeling like your putter is in the way. I will make my final decision after my 2 tourney's this week. I just thought I would share my experience and opinions after going through the putter fitting process.
  13. I am just curious to see how many of you are using range finders on the course. I mean legal ones no slope. With the changing of technology and new gear that is available for legal tournament use I can't see how anyone is going with out one of these now a days. The advantage of being able to pin point yardages you need to know is key. I have started using one full time since the end of last year and I have noticed a huge improvement in Constancy with FIR and GIR. Especially when it comes to competitive playing being able to know exact yardages is key to confidence. I have been using the Bushnell Tour V2 and I can say it is easy the best club in my bag. Opinions and User feedback??
  14. Here's what I do when I am looking at a new club or clubs. 1. go handle and look at as many as possible. 2. narrow it done from there top 5 3. start hitting some. see how it feels with a 9i,7i,5i 4. once you find the club that hits right, feels right and looks right to your taste make sure you get it fitted to your lie and preference. 5. Buy them and hit the range hard. Good luck! PS- no one knows how much or how little you paid unless you tell them
  15. All I can say is if there is a Nashville Boston Final, I am not watching that series...... Between Rinne and Thomas no one will score. Every game will have like 4 OT's.
  16. LOL OMG! The Canucks are such chokers and this comes from a life long Canucks fan. They always get cocky and stop trying and now we have game 7. For a team that steamed rolled everyone during the regular season seems to be laying an egg in the playoffs AGAIN! I sure hope the Canucks can get their head out of their ass and show up to put the Hawks away tonight but I wont hold my breath. Go Canucks Go
  17. I play the DSG cleveland wedges and I love them. They allow you to get a crisper contact with the ball and I find you can get more spin around the greens from tight lies. I don't find them anymore difficult to play then any other design of wedge. I have played the CG wedges a lot and I just prefer the playability of the DSG design. I would recommend getting fitted for a wedge or at least go and try out a few different design and see what you like.
  18. mmmmmm....... poutine! BTW - Hows the Fried chicken and crappy american beer?? GO Canucks GO! GO HABS GO!
  19. LOL Ya not going so well is it. 3-0 in the series. I would be pretty surprised is the Hawks didn't win game four at home. But then back to Vancouver and we will take the series in game 5. We need one series out of the last 3....... Now onto the Bruins, what a freaking joke...... Big Bad Bruins EH!!!! Montreal is has this series going back home now, a 2-0 lead going back to Montreal ouch, I wouldn't want to be a bruin now. That team is built for a long playoff run to, big changes to common in B town if they can't make it the 3rd round. Gotta be impressed with the Pred's though 2-1 series lead on the Ducks... Rinne will be hard to beat.
  20. The Canucks are going to roll the Hawks this year. 2-0 on Wednesday and 4-1 tonight. Luo has too much to prove to choke against the Hawks. The Vancouver D is way too deep and they have scoring on all 3 lines. Also Montreal will take out the Bruins in 7.
  21. You should definitely get your wedges fitted for you. You can buy them off the rack and then have them fitted or get your stats and order them in. IMO they are your scoring clubs and 70% of the game is from 100 yards and in.
  22. From my experience with Pro V1's and TP Red and the Penta, they are all great balls. It comes down to preference and what suits your game the best. For me it all comes down to feel on the greens. Its pretty easy to get comfortable with playing the spin of a ball but the feel off the putter to me is where I make my choices. I have tried a bunch of balls (Z-star, TP's, V1, V1x and B330s) all of which are great but I just keep finding myself going back to old faithful, the Pro V1. So IMO make your choice on the green and what feels the best to you.
  23. I would strongly disagree with your comment. I have both Bushnell and Leopold hunting scopes on my rifles. I dont really want to get into the whole issue but, I would go with Leupold. As far as range finders are concerned there are some really nice Bushnell models out there.
  24. Well I am going off the regular season stats because thats what I would base a teams position off of. Because I am Canadian has nothing to do with the fact that I feel the HABS had the harder route and the best play this playoffs, just how I see it. If this was the Canucks I would of course be bias
  25. I would have to go with the HABS because they knocked off both the CAPS and the PENS, with no where near as good a team as Philly has, plus HABS are seated in 8th and beat the 1st seed and then knocked off the PENS. The Bruins and Flyers were pretty well matched up.
