  1. Well it's in stock at my local Golfsmith when I checked instore pickup at Golfsmith.com...Also if anyone's interested, www.Edwinwatts.com has 10.5* with a stiff Adila VS shaft in it for $150...For myself, I purchased a new 9.5* with a Proforce V2 on eBay for $138...couldn't help myself
  2. You should've just told her to slide those rounds of golf to you...anyway yeah, you can pretty much get a cheap set for under $200 or much lower than that...My brother just got the "Ram Sensor" set for about $75 (He had like a $25 off $100 and it was the floor model). I mean for $75 it's something to work with I guess and if he develops more interest he can easily upgrade. If not, $75 ain't that bad.
  3. Well, this is from yesterday as well: Not only is there a hitch but it hits a guy Is filming for the show done?? Man if it is, the Golf Channel should really bring him back for another season...
  4. Yeah the 5900's pretty cheap too...I figure I might him them both but I'm leaning on the 5000...how's the stock shaft though? It seems like online you can't really get the Adila VS or UST V2 unless you go 11.5* or more...I'm not sure about instore but I'm hoping they'll have them. It seems from what I've read online those two shafts are much better than the Diamana stock - does it really make that big of a difference?
  5. Sad to see But at the same time, I really hope they do make a second season...Chuck's just a fun personality to follow.
  6. Season Two... Think about it, hasn't the show garnered the highest ratings ever for a non-tournament for the Golf Channel? I know I'd watch.
  7. Wow, looks awesome. How much did everything cost ya?
  8. I have the dual hinged 5-Iron and it's amazing...I just have so much confidence in my swing...Consistency in my swing is something I've always wanted and I'm definitely getting very good results with it Edit: Oh yeah it not only helps my Irons, but my Driver and Woods...basically my entire swing feels better across the board.
  9. Tough to say...Usually I check an online retailer's ratings on www.resellerratings.com and that site doesn't have any reviews/ratings in...anyway I can never spell hurricane right...
  10. Anyone with any experiences with it? Right now I'm not at a place where I think I'd want to spend $300+ on a Driver and the 5000 is about $130 to $150. I'd like to check it out...does anyone know if I can still check this driver at a Golfsmith on a launch monitor or not? I've been told I should have a Stiff shaft so and I'm considering 9.5 or 10.5...would I be able to hit those lofts at Golfsmith or are the 5000 Demo's no longer available?
  11. There's this nighttime tournament out in September at one of the courses I play (I think they use glow in the dark balls and flashlights...) So that got me thinking of night time golf...I remember seeing a piece in Golf Magazine or Digest of a course in China that basically had Stadium lighting...which is interesting as hell. You can basically golf all night. I was wondering if anyone had experience with that or come across a course with those type of capabilities and if anyone's played a course like that
  12. I take either 1-3 practice swings. I usually try and do take one swing though... If my first practice swing feels right then I step up and hit it. If it doesn't I take another until I feel good about it. Sometimes I'll hit it worse, but I find most times that it helps.
  13. Well...I would expect it to be Monday thru Thursday, but what specific day is the least busiest? Definitely differs by location for any number of reasons, but what day do you find the least golfers playing? Edit: Can someone move this to the golf talk forum please? thanks.
  14. Man...Cejka wearing all black...he's sweating already and he hasn't even teed off...hot day.
  15. I have a putting cup that was like $7 at Golfsmith. You can just get a cup or marker or whatever and put to that...you need some carpet indoors to work on putting though. It's not going to be a typical putting surface but you work your putting stroke there... For your swing, I guess you'd just take some practice swings.
  16. Outlet Stores are great for this...you can find deals online too...and eBay too I guess.
  17. That sounds like a good idea. Take employees out of the picture, which makes things less complicated. But I guess it depends on property and location. Starting a business is more complicated than it needs to be, especially in the U.S.
  18. That sounds good. I have a Bergen County card too and that's where I play a lot of my rounds.
  19. Hmm, Twin Brooks sounds familiar...I remember going there with a friend of mine to hit some golf balls there on the deck. This is before I started really playing golf, must have been...3 or 4 years ago...
  20. Anyone use one of these before? It's basically an Iron that has a hinge towards the club head that breaks if you swing it improperly. My uncle has one and after getting about 10 good swings in I started hitting my clubs and hitting them great. Link: http://www.golfsmith.com/ppage.php?s...&tcode;=fr_home
  21. Welcome I'm from NJ but if I lived in NY I'd be up for practice/playing rounds...anyway are there any courses with holes overlooking the Manhattan skyline??
  22. Pretty sure's its Standard for me...I think I tried on a bunch of golf shoes last year and size 13 fits me perfectly...basically for all shoes/sneakers
  23. Hey thanks for the head's up. I live in Bergen County so Jersey City and Ridgewood are right around my way. I'll apply as a volunteer but I'm not sure I'm available...I don't have any affiliations so I'm not sure how that's going to work...what are a volunteer's responsibilities anyway?
  24. Well the first round is underway and Tiger is the clubhouse leader at -7 right now. Hard to follow considering he teed off before 8am and radio coverage comes on at 11am and the Golf Channel begins their coverage at 3pm. Anyway, I followed the PGA Shot Tracker, which is pretty neat. You can also listen to XM's coverage for free online: Shot Tracker Live Coverage XM Radio
  25. The umbrella should clip onto your bag and protect your clubs. Probably not something you need to worry too much about if it's your first time out
