I played in a tournament this past weekend called the "Big Hole" that used an 8" hole. It's held every year over Labor day weekend for two days. This was my first time playing in it and at first I thought it was going to be "gimmicky" but when I got there I realized It was just serious golf with a bigger hole and it certainly didn't mean you were assured to make your putt just because it's a 12 footer or so. With 2 people putting you should get it but there were some times where us or our playing partners didnt, quite often actually. All in all I thought it was a lot of fun and I was a little leery going in. Id do it again for sure.

What???!!!!!!!! I assume you're single and have never had a girlfriend. JK. Seriously though, I enjoy watching the LPGA however if I have to choose between that and the PGA, unless its a major I'll choose the PGA.

Being in the golf tee business, I think everyone should use a new tee on every hole. Job security. I prefer 3-1/4 for my driver. Actually thats all I use anymore even for irons, I don't feel like keeping a couple different sizes in my pocket. I used to use broken tees for my irons but now that I don't ever have to buy them I just push in the 3-1/4 all the way. Pride Pro Length Plus is what I like to use.

I'd like to see Tommy win one, he's off to a rough start today though, hopefully he gets it turned around. Why didn't Tiger play in this one? Did he not have a chance to make the playoffs either way? By the way, I made the pencils being used in this tournament:)

I'm trying to make some corrections to my swing. I've been struggling to get my weight shifted forward and a good hip turn resulting in dead pulls. I practiced swinging in my yard last week and went to the range and hit balls on the weekend with my new techniques and I hit them pretty well, very well at times. I have a small back yard where I can only practice short pitch shots and I don't have time to get to the range after work during the week. My question is, do you think it will help me to practice my swing all week in my yard just swinging the club? Or do you think it may be detrimental not seeing the result of the swings I'm making. I kinda think it actually may help because I can just concentrate on the corrections I want to make on my swing and not worry about striking the ball.

I like to walk whenever I can. There is one course near me that I like to play once or twice a year that requires a cart. It also requires a lot of money, hence the once or twice a year. Other than that, unless Im in an outing or tournament I enjoy walking.

Well, it appears that over the long Wisconsin winter my belly has actually grown into my putter, so I guess I'm now a user of a belly putter. LOL. Unfortunately it hasn't seemed to help my scoring though.

No, it's not just you, thats the story of my golfing life. On the rare occasion it all does come together it sure is fun though.

Thats crap, you never hit another guys ball. Obviously you should have waited a little bit but he could have said something to you or waited and talked to you. If that happened to a couple of the guys I golf with there probably would have been a fight. I'm not saying thats right, but hitting his ball is definetely not.

You said 15 yards to the hole but how far to the edge of the green? How much green is there to work with? The type of lie would be a big determing factor also. From what I'm picturing in my mind I agree with Gerald, drive it into the side hill.

I'm hoping to get there. I went to the final round in 2004 and had a blast. One of our vendors bought our tickets, put us up for the night, fed us and gave us $75 to spend, but it doesn't look like thats going to happen this year. I keep telling my boss, since we manufacture the number 1 tee and cleat used on tour that we should have some representation there and I would be willing to donate my valuable time for the benefit of the company:) Either way I'm going to try and get there.
