If I was there, I'd pay the grand for 6 shots.

Oh, I was adding to your sarcasm, while at the same time pointing out to others that they need not worry.

Shot an 76 in absolutely sweltering heat. It was closing in on 40*C (104 in that wierdo degree system you yanks use) at 8am. It was so hot, that for the first time in two years, when not playing with my father, we decided to use carts. Not just any carts either, fully enclosed, air conditioned carts. I had never played there before, even though its not that far, but its a $130 green fee with the cart, each.98* if you aren't riding, but we all rode. In the end, it was totally worth it. We all had a great time. I won some nice bets. Lost some not so nice ones, and got to play one of the nicest golf courses in the area, for the first time. I didn't even know it was there, quaint little place on the opposite side of bay of chaleur from me. Usually, twice a month, one of my foursomes sets up tee times at out non-regular course. Despite the prices, I can see us going back at twice more this summer. If you are ever in the Matapedia Valley, Quebec area and want to play a great, but not too challenging course, check out Club de golf Rivieremont. (for us English, that means Mountain River Golf). A few challenging holes, stunning, and views like none other I've seen short of playing in the Rockies. The club plays around both sides of what is now a huge, extinct volcano, and I can't say enough good about it. It is very much so a semi private course who will allow groups on as long as they are a CPGA member with a HC unnder 15, as long as they have free tee times (and they do). Pretty much a place for the retired rich to play easy golf. A few days on this course and I'm sure I could be shooting low to mid 60's, its just that easy. Especially since I know that 16 requires an 8i, even though its 9i distance. Couple of blind greens and playing too conservatively, but the course is very easy, and fast to get around. The bad: Any challenge added to the course is artificial. Bunkering doglegs around the edge of the fairway, where you want your ball to be, uphill par 3's to greens you can't see. but theres only 2 of those instances. Even the 76 (par 70) I shot didn't bring me down (still the best score of the day). 16th had a strong headwind over forced carry pool of water fed by a stunning waterfall. It was a par 3 they redesigned for this year, and was stunning. But I dunked 2, and put my 3rd (which was really my 5th) long, for easy chip back which was thankfully close to the pin. But it didn't matter, even having to mark a 7 on a par3 couldn't break my mood on such a great course. 18th was hilarious though. A huge oak, about 270 yards out on a long par 5. I had the honors because I parred 17, the other three bogeyed. I hit the tree and watched it bounce back about 150 yards, with my only shot choices being a a draw around the tree with my wood, or to try to launch it over the tree with my 19* hybrid (or 18*5w, and yes there are reasons I carry both, the 5w has a longer shaft and is 15-20 yards longer than the hybrid, but launches lower). Went for the 3w draw, hit it 230 yards, for an easy wedge to the the green, finishing up with a 2 putt for par. Great day

No more than a sprinters coach would (they don't), or a hockey teams coach would (they don't), or a baseball teams coach(they don't). Last wonter Olympics, one of the players who had 2 or three previous golds, gave his to their coach. But it was not awarded by the IOC. Anywy, no, it should be 4 days, 18 holes/day, have a cut after 36 holes, low score over 4 days wins. Should be no more than 3 golfers per country. And absolutely no Belly/broomstick putters.

I guess I can understand if your driving is bad, but 7500yds is a monster. But I would be more intimidated by 'Heaven" day. Over driving greens, not knowing distances. Hell da is easy.

I have a couple dozen now from demo days, tournament prizes, all that stuff. I use it one day, then clean them with it again at home, throw it in the wash and put another on the bag for next round.

No 'breakfast balls', no 'gimmes', and play it as it lies. I warm up with a small bucket beforehand (30 balls). I play golf. Not a weekend duffer. But I also play tournament golf, with a second in the Moosehead Dry Open this year. Unfortunately, our provincial tourny schedule is only 5 tournaments, then provincials. That said, if we are not playing for money, you may play any way you want. Just don't expect me to play your way. I NEVER comment on others breaking rules, UNLESS they specifically ask me for a ruling or ask me beforehand to tell them the rules. This has no happened more than a handfull of times.

Any possibility in getting them in this style? The only kind of hats I'll wear.

68 on a par 72 goat track that should certainly not been more than a par 70, one of the easiest courses I have ever played. Not a single green was bunkered. Kinda disapointing.

Squire green, Hole#1, firs and second shots are completely blind to the green, just bad course design. If you get a good drive, you are either forced to lay up 30 yards to the 90* dogleg, or ake a chance at floating a wedge shot 75 feet high over the stand of Spruce protecting the right side of the green which is just bad disign. Most people chip out to the dogleg, but as long as im 50 yards + away from the tree, I'll float a very high 48* wedge over the trees, which will land on the rock hard green behind it. I make sure I get lots of backspin so that it lands directly at the back flat of the green and checks, or pops back and rolls back doen the green towards the middle of the green. Of course, this is 50/50. Often, I hit the top of the trees, knocking the ball down straight, forcing a wedge shot over a large sandtrap, to a flag that is often on the far left side of the green. If you get a perfect drive, still in the fairway, you are too close to the trees and have absolutely no shot at the green at all. You cannot punch it through the thick, thick branches and bush, believe me I tried, and you ALSO have no shot to punch it out to the dogleg. One of the tree's may be cut soon, as we have 350 member signatures pushing the course to cut the middle tree, and it is first on the agenda at the next members meeting on Wednesday. Its bad design when anyone who can drive over 250 cannot have a chance at getting in on two, yet rewards short hitter, giving them an easy three shot to the green. And yes, these trees are directly IN the fairway, with the right side OB because its lined with homes. Only a few of us hit 3w off the tee, civing us a chance to get up and over the trees, and on to the green. That is the shot I hate worse.

We do, we just choose not to use them.

Its not our fault that you Amercans cannot spell.

I love playing people with Vanity caps. I give them less strokes tan they deserve, and win anywhere from 1$ to $5 dollars a stroke. I also have a once a year 'High Stakes" game with very good friends, who are all at or near scratch, but one of them had to be replaced by a guy who has a vanity cap and is closer o a 5-6 than the 1hc he has listed. It was Ed and I VS Ron and a new guy, Terry, since his regular partner had a bad accident that spring and couldn't play at all during 2012. Terry is the Vanity capper, and we play 100$/Stroke, with 25 and 50$ side bets. Last year my partner Ed and I won 475$ each, after giving them each 2 strokes per side. Ron is extremely happy to have Kieth back for our game this July. There was also the part where Terry didn't expect to have to pay, even though he knew the rules ahead of time. He paid, but after he put the cash in our hands, he walked off the 9th without shaking hands or even looking at us. And I mean, he knew the stakes beforehand, and initiated most of the side bets that he lost. giving them 8 (2 pwer side each)strokes between them, we sill won by 3 strokes, and made 175 in side bests. And why did they lose with an 8 stroke lead, because the vanity capper spent more time in the woods and water than the rest of us combined. To top it ff, he didn;t want to take penalty strokes for drops or provisionals, saying 'Thats not the way I play.", to which I answered, "Well, here we play by the CPGA/R&A; rules, I have an extra if you want to learn them." He got insulted, saying, "Its not me who isn't following the rules"... Just a bitter and bad golfer. But at least I know who not to play with ever again.

I still believe that once she rids herself of Leadbetter, she will be a much better player. I mean maybe the putting this is helping her with the yips, or pulling the trigger, but her full swing stats are what is truly troubling, im.

Luckily for you, i'm happily married, and she is far hotter than any cart girl I have ever sen. Seeing other hot women just makes me realize that what is at home is everything I have ever wanted. I mean, hell, she lets me play 18 4-5x / week when I am off for the summer, as well as two 9's with her.

No, I spend a lot of time down south, family has summer homes in Florida and South Carolina, got them at Old Palm Golf Course in Florida. Fitters name was Mark. When i'm down there in august, I may get fitted for one of their putters.
-
No, cutting it isn't going to do anything but give you less distance, imo. You just bought the wrong shaft for you, a common problem, as most people don't want to spend the extra few dollars for a fitting, or just don't know they need to be fitted. The only thing that will give you the ballflight you need is to be fitted for a proper shaft for you. You can't expect one shaft to perform like a totally different one. Just because your old shaft was high launch means nothing, it is a totally different shaft with different flex and kick points. If you want the right shaft for you, get fitted. Guessing never works.

Rocket powered clubs...thoughts?
ApocG10 replied to gwlongbeach10's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Well that was 74 seconds i'll never get back. -
My Edels were pricey, but I would buy them all over again in a second. Having fitted wedges of one type is one of the the greatest golf purchases I have ever made.

I switched to the Superstroke Fatso 85. I have huge hands, and it has really, really made a HUGE improvement in my stroke. After getting used to it, I went back to Golftown and bought 5 more, in case they changed or discontinued the model. Put one on my Seemore (the original black one I bought), one Green on my Scotty Cameron, and put spare blue, Black and Red ones away in the closet for the future. Im OCD when I find something that I feel is head and shoulders better than everything else on the market, and overstock things, like Penta TP5's, these Fatso Grips, and Golf Pride 2G Tour Wraps.
