  1. As is the case with every brand from Ping to Mizuno, to Miura and back. And the RocketBlades do not feel springy.
  2. played 18 this AM. Went -2 through the front nine, with an eagle on a par 5, a birdie on a par 3, and a bogey on the par 4 9th. Made the the turn and finished the the back 9 at 3 over, hurting my score, making it a 1 over 72. The back 9 is notoriously harder here at Gowan Brae. Most of the back 9 plays along the ocean, and the many inlets give you a lot of places to send your ball swimming, which is what caused one of my bogeys on the back. Great day though, a little cold, but that didn't stop it from being a great time. Although the rest of my threesome, my sisters husband and two of his friends from his hometown, weren't having as much fun as I was. One of them, I think, lost more balls than I tool strokes. No shitting you, he lost AT LEAST two dozen balls, luckily when we made the turn, I was able to grab him a pail of really cheap ass rocks that were in my truck, that I only use on my net at home. The worst part, this was the guy who bragged all last night, and this morning on the way to the course, about how great a golfer he was. He said he was a 6 handicap. I think he forgot a 0 after that 6. He had some really nice, matching, clubs though. Everything was Titleist, except his wedges, and everything was this this years model, without a scratch in them. And the fool wanted to play a dollar a stroke. Yay me!
  3. To spite your face.... Not Spiderface
  4. I think one major would push him there.
  5. Aparently you dont know what a riposte is, just like you don't know what proselytizing is.
  6. Garcia isn't a swede. I BELIEVE he is Spanish. Aside from that, I agree.
  7. Agreed. I stuck one to 4-5' tonight from 240 yards. Just feels amazing to stick a 3 wood right where you wanted it.
  8. You are nuttier than a jar of peanut butter.
  9. No. Chuck Norris is a real and powerful human being. There would be nothing wrong with thanking the bringer of death, least he tear your throat out with his beard. You better respect....
  10. "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it,"
  11. No, no it isn't. Its a man thanking a fictional being that he believes in for a good break. No need to have a hissy fit because he believes differently than you do, he can thank god, allah, joheova, or the Blessed Mary's holy virgin arsehole. That is totally up to him, and its nothing more than affirming his beliefs. When he shows up at you're door with a handfull of magazines, then It's proselytizing. Until then, its a quick phrase shared by someone who holds a firm belief in the sky wizard.
  12. I am athiest, but I don't believe he was insinuating 'God' won the golf tournament for him. Moreso, its him thanking god for blessing him with such a fantastic life, and for giving him such an awesome chance to improve his carreer. Personally, i'd want to thank my family and coaches, the people who nourished natural talent and let it grow into a tournament winning golfer. But like I said, i'm athiest. As for Collins and Broussard, that is a whole other story. Both were ridiculous. There didn't need to be an SI cover story for collins, and no need for Broussard to have to comment. Seems to me that both were just looking for publicity.
  13. Oh, and off topic, I can understand not liking Chamblee, but the hate here is ridiculous. He's a very intelligent and confident person with strong opinions. While you may not like those opinions, I have never heard him say anything worthy of the outright hate he gets. And I don't even really like the guy.
  14. Which is what makes it feel so gimmicky. You can hit a perfect shot, and a hard headwind can knock your ball down into the drink. I realize the weather is uncontrollable, but i've played TPC Sawgrass 4 times on Vacation (Wife grew up about in Ponte Verda until she was 15, then moved north to Canada, where her mom grew up, once her dad retired, now her parents and us own a pair of cottages not far from the clubhouse), and 17 is one of those holes that can completely rob a great shot from you at any given second. Very true, but its certainly a nice way to set yourself up. Even if he shot 4 over today, he'd probably make the cut and be in the money this weekend. For the non Tigers/Phils/rory/Scotts, i'm guessing its all about getting into the money. While I have no crystal ball, I do believe this to be true. I think the Masters was all his until he hit that pole and the media frenzy started.
  15. So chances are your 7i is really about 150, and your drives, 250-60. That means little though, its not just practice. You need to practice correctly and understand every part of your swing from the waggle to the end of the follow through. At a 12-14, without coaching, the realistic chance that you will make the college golf team is very, very low.
  16. As long as noone can see me, a tree is fine. I've never played in a foursome that wouldn't. Billions of animals and organisms cra and piss all over everything anyway, piss sure isn't going to hurt anyone if they accidently step in it.
  17. Talet certainly counts. If it didn't, I would certainly be an NHL player, possibly one of th ebest, with one of the best coachs around, my dad, and my own full sized ice surface behind the ice, along with weeks of hockey camp every summer. I was on the ce a minimum of 3 ours a day, 8 in camp, fow an average of about 47 weeks a year of practicing and playing competitive hickey, from 4yo, right up to about 26, when I left the semi-pros to take a respctable job. Im talented, I put in the hours, and I was still borderline. I didn'y push too had to get drated, I hd found a great woman and a ccareer I loved. But it takes more tha 10000 hours, and some talent to be a pro at anything in the top levels of sport.
  18. Naww, I have 4 scheduled rounds of 18 holes now, plus tons of members who I play with weekly, and often play 5-7 rounds of of 18 beteween the 3 courses (two memberships, the first a private 18 hole, perfect and great greens, the second a mid grade 18 and 9 with seperate tee sections to really make the 9hole feel like 18. all with good tees.) Season starts monday, and i've got a lot of goals.
  19. Naww, I have 4 scheduled rounds of 18 holes now, plus tons of members who I play with ff and on looking for a 4rth here and there.
  20. The greatest challenge of my life, my second love, and the only game I can stand to play with my first love. Oh, and Cart Girls.
  21. That doesn't change the fact that the whole 'learning a language by 14 or you can never be a native speaker' is absolutely a myth.
  22. Stop and go back through the basics, keep a few swing thoughts firm in my mind, and tighten up my backswing, as its natural for it to get a bit long on me when I start to get frustrated. I'm 6'4+, and small errors ten to get over-exaggerated when I make mistakes. Especally with the woods. When my putting is bad, that is another story altogether. I will say though going to a jumbo grip has helped my stroke a lot. I would never quit a round, unless I got extremely physically sick somehow, or injured. I know my body extremely well, and won't risk further injury to finish a round. Its only happened once though. Pulled intercostal muscle, and I knew it as soon as I swung. Left after that swing, and couldn't play for over a week. Had I finished the last 8 holes, I probably would have been out 4-5 weeks. Don't let pride get in the way of your well being. It is not 'macho' or tough to play through an injury, its ridiculous and foolish.
