  1. The god particle is the link between energy and mass. It is why energy can be weighed and why energy and mass are interchangeable, and it is present in everything. Big discovery.
  2. not only that, he hits his 5-6 iron practically the same.
  3. I dont really care for egos... and if my post is deleted for stating fact so be it. BUT, no matter what, the average proportion of clubhead speed converted to ball speed across the face of a perimeter weighted CB iron vs a traditional blade iron will be higher. That is why the golfing public can benefit from game improvement clubs... they will be more efficient for their swings.
  4. You have no idea what you are saying. I am not talking about specific gains in ball speed because of perimeter weighting. However: The proportion of ball speed averaged out across the face will be higher vs a blade NO MATTER WHAT (notice the word average). It is physics, what I do. Should you want to learn about it, I suggest a book I read years ago just for fun. "THE PHYSICS OF GOLF". These may be your forums, but you don't automatically have to act like an authority even on the things you're not sure about. All you gain is misinformation on your own site.

  6. The reality is, that only impact matters in the golf swing... if you can manage to get the right impact and can repeat the way you get there; then it doesn't really matter how you get there. That being said, there are ways to do it to make it consistently easier to repeat. Looking at your vid and two of your swings, I can see a couple of things that will work against true consistency: 1. You are inside the plane on the takeaway. 2. Your head moves up almost immediately as you start the swing. 3. Your first move down is with your upper body.
  7. hey, I love to watch the different videos and see your swing improve. There was something glaringly obvious in your first video that is not so obvious in the last... you were coming way over the top because you only rotated your hips and had very little lateral motion. I predict that if you keep working on lateral lower body motion, you will see your hcp drop significantly... then you'll be concerned only with what really makes the biggest difference in the game... 10ft and in! congrats!
  8. Finally able to get a face on view:
  9. thanks a ton, the first video is very, very helpful for me to understand something I have been lacking. Thanks.
  10. thanks for your comment... I have always had that slightly shut face at the top, although not completely shut, it is slightly shut you are right, hence the draw. I just cant think about opening it up at the top, seems to mess with my mojo... :(. I kind of compensate with fast hips, but it makes it harder to be consistent, you are right.
  11. any thoughts please are welcome. This is a 7 iron, high ball flight going about 170 with no roll out, but about a 10 yard draw. Two different swings, same club. I see my head drop towards impact on the first but not second swing... any one else catch anything? Thanks, Daniel
  12. To the OP: That is one heavy duty routine to do three times a week. I do something similar twice a week: 1. Unassisted Dips 3 x 20 2. Unassisted Pullups 1x10, 1x8, 1x6 3. Bench Press 3x10 4. Squats 3x12 5. Deadlifts 3x10 6. Olympic Cleans 3x6. This routine take me at least an hour, and I am wasted by the time i am done. Then I do a standard chest workout another day of the week. Let me tell you, it is a lot to handle. How you do all of that three times a week is a mystery to me, as I would probably injure myself... and I'm only thirty... if you are eighteen or something, then I understand!
  13. bad journalism at its best. Dealing in absolutes because the guy won years after abandoning ST. I don't know what is worse for the poor guy, that or the fact that he will always be associated with some gimmicky swing system's name and not for his obvious skill on his own merit. I bet he wishes he had never jumped aboard that ship.
  14. Ive tried and tried to get that knee moving laterally, argh
  15. Long time no see Sandtrap. Spent 2010 working on some changes... among them a move to a place where i can golf year round (yay!); but also on having a more connected backswing and wider shoulder turn. I'd like to share with you a couple swings to gather some feedback. Like anything else, while my swing is better now, imo, my handicap is a shot or two worse. Used to be a 0.5, now around a 2.5. I hope that once I get acclimated to these one or two miniscule things (which feel completely different) my hcp will drop. Putting has improved this year, which means that the swing changes have really affected my ballstriking consistency. anyhow. yes the clubface is slightly close at the top. Im working on getting it between that and square for this year... mostly a slight grip change. First couple of swings I am hitting a 7 iron, mizuno mp 67, s300 shafts. The ball is flying 170 yds, slightly into the wind, with more elevation than I would like and a slight draw. Second couple of swings with the driver, r9 supertri S shaft. Ball is going 290-295 total. Straight to a slight draw. Thanks for looking!
  16. This couldn't be further from the truth. The type of ball matters greatly within 100 yards. If you have a higher handicap, I guarantee the way to pickup 5 strokes fast, is 100 yards and in. Going to be tough to develop 100 yard and in feel using pinnacles, for example. Not that it can't be done, but, I read somewhere that golf is the most difficult sport on the planet. Why make it harder than it has to be?
  17. I don't remember what book I read it in, but maybe it was in "The Physics of Golf": Basically, if a cavity back club being hit by a machine has a landing dispersion of 1 meter squared... the same machine hitting a blade will have a dispersion half of that or less. That to me does not seem like no reason.... seems like a pretty big reason to play blades! Especially if you can repeat your swing most of the time. I play mp 67s. Was going to pickup 68s but then opted against it because they seem to be very similar.
  18. your hips are probably moving too quick and too lateral.
  19. I do not carry a firearm, but I know how to operate one well. How does a maniac going on a killing spree differ from a maniac blowing up a coffee shop in the middle east? or a train in spain? or a church in ireland? Do you think that America invented maniacs? Or that allowing citizens to bear arms created maniacs? Like I said, I do not arm myself... but I don't pretend that civility is ironclad and I am not blinded by illusion that safety is guaranteed. To the contrary, I have versed myself in defense just in case. I hope for the best, but if things break down, it will be people like me you'll want by your side.
  20. Let me start by saying I am not american... and only live in the US on a non permanent basis. By reading your post I can see that you are really naive as to how the world really works. America may seem like an episode of bonanza to you "civilized" brits, but the notion of being ready, willing and able to defend yourself is much closer to reality than the illusion that your civilized way of life keeps you safe. Safety by the organization of society and modern civilization to me is a 500 ton ball being help up by a tiny thread. I think we would see things fall apart rather quickly as we have in the near past (in terms of the age of humanity) during a major crisis. At the point when things fall apart, what would you rather have? Your civilized demeanor, refusal to carry or use arms, that oxford degree.... or... Muscles, strength, knowledge in self defense, white weapons and firearms. My point is, why not have both?
  21. I'm all for casual golfers not taking their OB penalties during random rounds if it means faster pace of play.
  22. Well, getting clubs fit to your specs means they are tailored to your swing, impact tendencies, etc. Should you ever change or improve your swing via lessons, drills etc, you may find the conditions they fit you to are no longer optimal... This is why I never really mess with the lie angle, etc... The only thing I do is add a half inch to my clubs because I like to feel a little more upright. That being said, the one time I went to golftec to get fit, I had to teach the "PGA Professional" moron how to use the machine... and the machine ended up recommending the mp 67s I already used and the driver I already had. I asked for my money back, still waiting on that; so I'm kind of skeptical on the process (at least at golftec).
  23. The slowing down is bad advice for you in particular, since it seems your problems are mental. If you look at the pros, they kind of just step get loose and fire... this is what confidence in your ability allows you to do and is what you should be shooting for even if you are not there yet. I'll tell you what made a difference for me from 5-0 the most. 1. Putting. Develop a stroke that you don't have to think about. Personally I worked on an in to square stroke and now I just step up and dont really think about a bunch of mechanics only about the line and the target. My putting has improved significantly. 2. Weight training. Getting stronger allows you to swing easier, more stable... at least in my case. I was able to take some off without losing distance and that has all but eliminated any lost balls... which really brings the game down to the short sticks. 3. Simplify your swing. The quieter you can make it, the easier it will be to repeat. The easier it is to repeat, the better your scoring will be. 4. Wager on your game. It doesn't have to be a big figure, but put something into it. Some people I know are averse to playing a little money... For me putting something on the game makes me get into it more leading to better playing. This is a double edged sword though, as when you get used to this you may find it hard to concentrate when you aren't betting on your game. 5. Track your stats. Track Your putts, FW hit, GIR etc honestly and they will tell you what you need to work on to improve. 6. Practice. Some people preach machine like putting practice, where you stand there and putt for hours like a machine. To me this is not a great way to practice something that is 90% feel based. What I like to do as far as putting practice is take 4 balls and put them in the same spot... then try to sink one at a fast speed with less break and work myself up to the slowest speed possible with most break. This is how you develop feel. On the Driving range, I like to work on mid to low irons, usually I'll hit a 7 then a PW. I play games to see how many out of 10 I can hit within 10 yards of my target... I'll treat myself with a beer for every 10 that I nail on the flag for example. I don't really practice chipping that much, probably should. Hope you find some of this helpful and good luck improving! Remember you are already ahead of the game at a 5 HCP.. be proud! It is monumentally more difficult to go from a 5 to a 0 than a 15-10 for example.
  24. For once, I agree with you! It felt an awful lot like he was defending himself like a cornered cat. Should've never conducted that interview.
  25. This is horseshit. I can make an NXT ball spin, I cant make a top flite spin.
