Really? Well on the website they make a point of it this year. Do the 735's have V?
-
The new AP2's also have V grooves.

I hit a perfect iron shot with my AP2s and heard the "wizzz"
Hockeyman11385 replied to Motley01's topic in Golf Talk
I read this thread before going to the range tonight to see if I could hear it. Sure enough it was there. It really helped that it was only my dad and me on the range without a breath of wind. I think that if there is any noise at all (wind, other players, etc.) you wouldn't hear it. It's pretty cool to hear when it's there though. -
Scotty Cameron--Sightline or no Sightline?
Hockeyman11385 replied to rtbuckshot's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I like the sight line on my Scotty. I'm considering painting a couple on the top-line to frame the ball. I've been struggling with getting my putts on line lately so I'm willing to try anything. Always can take it off with a little acetone. -

You're going to have a long life and no money if that's the way you think about everything you buy. On the other hand every manufacturing company in America will love you. -
I love my Vokey's. I'm thinking about adding a gap wedge to the mix to round everything out. The only thing is that they have a tendency to eat golf balls.

http://msn.foxsports.com/golf/story/...ng-being-timed Interesting. What do we think? I think they played plenty fast enough because they still finished in just over 4 hours.

You can buy Titleist online. You just have to adhere to their MAP although companies get around that buy making you put the item in the cart to see the price. As for the OP, it sounds fishy. Even the name sounds like Engrish.

bridgestone tour b330
Hockeyman11385 replied to EZ Swinger's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
I bought a dozen Tour B330's just to give them a try and I think they are definitely longer than the ProV1x's that I had been using. I had plenty of control with it as well. I think Bridgestone has made a great ball. -
I've never been so mad to shoot a 78

Looking at your golf bag it looks like you have plenty of money. Calm down buddy. Some people are fortunate and others aren't. It's just the way life is. Referring to hkmp. -
Tiger's Poor (or Childish or Angry or Unprofessional) Antics
Hockeyman11385 replied to wrx_junki's topic in Tour Talk
It seems as though he is trying to change a little bit. I remember (although not specifically) after one bad shot he yelled "TIGER!" in place of any other choice word that he would normally use. I really don't mind the outbursts. He's an extraordinarily competitive person and is trying his very hardest on every single shot. If he wasn't as competitive and fiery he wouldn't be the player that he is. -
Something I noticed with Titleist products...
Hockeyman11385 replied to Golfaway's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I'd say it's smart. They have made themselves an aspirational brand. It also plays to people's egos, ie "I'm a good golfer therefore I can play Titleist clubs". It certainly worked on me, although I do hit the clubs very well and I've tried everything else. -
They have it at Dicks. You can also use soapy water to make the double sided tape slick enough to slide the grip on.

Titleist 909D3 vs. 983E
Hockeyman11385 replied to Hockeyman11385's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Thanks for the insight. I think that the shaft is a must for me. I really like the performance of it. I've seen all of the great deals on eBay but unfortunately being lefty, they don't pop as often for me and when they do they tend to go for a higher price. Thanks again. -
$90/hr including V1 software analysis and a printout of what you need to work on with pictures of your swing and other pros that you should emulate based on your swing.

I have been struggling off the tee for the majority of this year and I'm contemplating a switch to a new driver. I am currently using a Titleist 983E with the Titleist Speeder shaft in X flex. I also have a Taylor Made R7 SuperQuad with an Aldila NV65 also in X flex. I went to a local golf shop last week to try out a few drivers and hit the R9, R9 460, and Titleist 909D2. Unfortunately I'm left handed and live in Vermont so my selection is very limited. Luckily they had a demo 909D2 head that I could try different shafts in. The two R9's (and the R7 SQ) had way too much spin, even with the TP shaft so they are not the right fit for me. The 909D2 with a UST ProForce V2 79g with a stiff flex worked very well but the flight was a bit high. Unfortunately they did not have a 909D3 demo head so I was unable to try it directly but the club fitter assured me it would be ideal. The specs I would order would be the 909D3 9.5* with the UST PF V2 75 in stiff. My question is, has anyone been able to use the 983 and the D3 back to back or made the switch? I realize that there are two generations between the two but any info anyone could give me would be great. Thanks in advance for the help. (My specs, in case it matters, is 24 yo, 6'3", ~115 mph club speed.)

What should I look for in a golf GPS?
Hockeyman11385 replied to JBK's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
The SkyCaddie logo. Seriously though, I swear by my SG5. Knowing exact yardage really helps. I would say it's worth a stroke or 2 per round at least. -
I love my MacBook Pro and wouldn't switch back ever. I realize that I paid more for the Mac but I'm fine with that. I like the stability that the Mac offers.

You may want to look into one of those progressive cavity back sets. They are great because the so-called "scoring irons" are blades but the long irons are cavity that makes them much easier to hit. It would be a nice intermediate set so you don't have to make the jump straight to blades, especially with the long irons.

Scotty Cameron on Entourage
Hockeyman11385 replied to J-Rob's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
http://cgi.ebay.com/2009-SCOTTY-CAME...#ht_500wt_1182 There's the headcover if anyone is interested. Looks like there's a few for different clubs on eBay. -
Another vote for Tour Velvets here. Have them on all 13 clubs.

Yes, that shouldn't be a problem for any club repair shop.

Titleist NXT: Tour vs. Extreme
Hockeyman11385 replied to Ed_Bighead's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
I like the Tour a lot. It's a lot of ball for the money. I would say that it's a budget Pro V1. In fact I've mixed and matched the Tour with the Pro V and I really couldn't find too much of a difference. -
New Pro v1 or Pro v1x
Hockeyman11385 replied to dpmille's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
The X is the lesser spinning ball so that doesn't make sense. To the OP, I would say it's definitely a case of personal preference. -
How long do your spikes last?
Hockeyman11385 replied to running-8-iron's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
That really does seem a bit excessive. How much do you weigh? You must be torquing the hell out of your foot. I'm surprised you don't have knee or ankle pain if you manage to do that to your spikes.
