Dbake, I'm not saying that there isn't a shot for the club to make waves right now. However, this really isn't the best time for Titleist to push the new equipment with winter on its way (or here in some areas). The club is pretty sick, though.

I'm going to have to say I agree with Erik here. I just don't see this making much noise with the end of the season upon us. Maybe if he had won the Tour Championship with it, it would have made a little noise. But in the end I think the win doesn't even make a ripple in the market

I gotta go with Playing Lessons from the Pros. I can't seem to get enough of the playings tips those guys and ladies give throughout the round

I wouldn't worry too much about time issues. I know the articles look time consuming, but if you pace yourself, I'm sure you could make it work. I started writing while I was still in college and was able to make it work if that makes you feel any better Dave has done an incredible job with the numbers game, but as we all know, family is the first priority ALWAYS.

I'm going to have to go with the current set I have: The Titleist 731PM's. Of course, they were only made for lefties since it was Phil Mickelson's set when he was still with Titleist; however, the whole set to just looks so clean. Before I messed up my elbow, I had some guy after a round of golf offer me 800 on the spot for my irons. I guess he knew that Titleist didn't make them anymore.

just saw the pictures of the FT-i. What can I say about it other than that it looks HUGE. Like Erik, I love my FT-3, but I'm going to give it a try. The blade irons don't look to bad either

Im a big numbers guy. When you look at the past Ryder Cup records for both teams, its not hard to see that Europe has a lot of vets. I hate saying that the United States goes down, but the numbers dont lie this time.

I think this is a sad day for the kids on your team. As funny as it sounds, my team was the same way starting my sophomore year after our golf coach of 10 years decided to leave his coaching job at our school to pursue an AD job in another district. During the time our school was looking for a coach, we got some guy who came in, didn't enforce the rules, and completly killed the team moral. Guys never went to practice, some decided to smoke and drink on the course, and one guy buried his putter in a green on a course we practiced at, thus losing our playing priviliges at the course. It was by far the worst year of high school. That was until our new coach came in... He was a lot like you. He enforced the rules, kicked guys off the team for cutting practice, and put the job of enforcing the rules and such on the juniors and seniors. You see he made US police eachother. I can't tell you how much it sucked to be the bad guy when you're a junior on the squad; however, you don't know how good the team got when we buckled down and listened to what our coach had to say. He had played college golf with David Toms, had a 3 handicap, and was a former assistant pro before moving to our area in dallas. Not only did he relate to us because he was younger than most coaches (28 years old), he also let us know that it was up to us to make things happen. In less than a semester we went from placing in the middle of the pack at tournaments to winning three tournaments and playing in the North/South High School Championship in Myrtle Beach, SC. Two of our guys (including myself) were offered college golf scholarships because of my coach. The sick part about your story is the fact that you give your time for nothing in return buy a little respect. Sometimes you get a couple of bad eggs that kill a team, and other times you get a whole crate of foul smelling eggs. My opinion for you is to cut your ties and leave. When you leave, maybe the coach will see what an impact you had when you were there. I used to have aspiration some day of going back to my high school years from now and coaching my old team, but the way kids are these days, it makes me want to puke! I'm only a year removed from college and I'm still amazed at the lack of respect 16 and 17 year old kids show. Maybe it's my military upbrining, but I just don't know where you get off flipping an adult off. That to me is just unreal...

I think you should really consider a cavity back club. I know so many buddies of mine that have had the same notion about picking blades to improve the game. Honestly, you would be better off finding a more forgiving club and working on your game back up then you would hitting a blade. A blade iron (unless you're a low to mid handicapper) will force you to hit the ball better, but it will also kill you on a course if you don't hit it somewhat good. I always love my golf game to be an enjoyable one. For that reason, I think the cavity back is the club of choice. Enjoy getting back into the game!

Huge Phil Fan for almost 10 years now. I know a lot of people hate his guts, but for some reason, the guy just seems to be the one I always root for.

Shot 75 and 78 the last two days at two courses here in the beaver creek/vail, colorado area. Playing again today and tomorrow. Hoping the scores start to go down now that I've figured out my exact distances.

I don't know if everyone knows about the pga.com coverage online, but if you don't, I highly recommend you check it out. The coverage they are showing of the lefty, woods group is pretty decent.

Do I even dare try and jump into the lions den on this one? If you would have asked me this question three weeks ago, I probably would have said, "heck no!" But ask me now if Tiger is 2x better than Phil and I might have to say "yes" when Tiger is on his game like he is right now. There are examples of times where Phil has stood up to Tiger (2006 Masters) and punched him right in the face when the tournament was tight. However, I would have to say that when Tiger is rolling like he is right now, he is probably 2x better than the top 10 players in the worlds, and maybe even 3x or 4x better than the average tour pro. It's a great question to ponder.

I've got two HIO's First was three years back at the Harbour Town Golf Links in Hilton Head. I play there yearly since my parents have a place on the course. To make a long story short, it was 5 p.m. when we hit the 17th at Harbour Town. Par 3 (190 to the hole) hit perfect 6-iron into a left to right breeze. Ball hit short of the cup and disappeared into the hole. I didn't know how to react to the shot, so I just fell on my back and laughed. Second one was at my home course back in Southlake, Texas. During golf practice one day, I aced the third hole from 185 out with a 7 iron. Hole is a downhill par 3 and the pin was playing perfectly for my draw. The ball hit about 20 feet short of the pin and rolled right in the cup. Those are two of the best golf moments of my life. Thanks for letting me gloat a bit
