  1. No, I moved here from the south about 10 years ago to go to RPI. I occasionally play at Frear.
  2. Yeah, I'm in Troy.
  3. My GPS app doesn't actually have any things that are included. It has a satellite map. You touch a spot on the map and it tells you the exact distance to that spot from where you're standing as well as the distance from that spot to the hole.
  4. With how well GolfCard works on my Android phone, I can't think of any situation where I'd actually end up using a laser.
  5. I am in the same boat. I'm 28 and in good shape, but switched to a Clicgear.
  6. I predict that Favre will retire during halftime, come back from retirement for the second half, and then retire for good during the post-game press conference because his ankle snapped off during the fourth while being tackled by Will Smith shortly after heaving a ball up into the air, which was intercepted by Malcolm Jenkins.
  7. The P3s just came out a couple of months ago, as did the Verve series of drivers. The GX922 came out last year, I think. So if there's a pattern there, they will be releasing an updated TaylorMade clone next spring.
  8. I see Titleist is generally the #2 driver and wood on the tour. What's #1?
  9. Well if you look at my sig you'll see I have a bag full of Gigagolf clubs! I'm cheap and cannot justify spending $400+ on functionally equivalent clubs ;) I think they're great. They're really attractive, very well made, and play great. The only thing I don't like about them is the goofy name stamped into them. I got an email today with a coupon code for 20% any of their hybrid+iron sets. The P3 seems to be the cheapest. The code for the P3 is HYS001.
  10. Wow, Gigagolf is selling a full P3 hybrid set (3,4 hybrid, 5-PW irons) for less than $150 at the moment.
  11. I highly recommend Gigagolf. I think their clubs are by far the best you can get for the price.

  13. Interesting. Those VR half-cavity irons are rather good looking.
  14. Yes, very nice. Every bit as nice as the clubs whose designs they largely copy.
  15. Their designs are obviously copied almost exactly from Ping, Taylormade, and Callaway. But they're clearly not being sold *as* those clubs. They are clones - they are not counterfeits.
  16. I don't see it your way. In fact, I am quite confident you are completely wrong. Any club that conforms to the rules - that includes cavity backs, muscle backs, hybrids, whatever - can explicitly be hit using any part of the clubhead you want. The rules of golf make that clear. They do not state that you may hit with any part of a conforming clubhead as long as that part conforms to the "face" requirements. It says that a conforming club has a certain type of face, and then goes on to say that you can hit with the back of the clubhead as well.
  17. I agree that the golfer was at fault, but disagree that the club pro acted in any way appropriately or responsibly.
  18. I agree that the pro shouldn't have done quite what he did. If it was an expensive club, I'd expect the club to take care of it without ever involving me in any way. If it was a more modest club, the pro should have done something to insulate or protect the players while on the course - he should not have allowed the damaged party to search the course for the offender. This could involve taking the driver's information and catching the players when they were done, escorting the driver to the players, or having the driver wait while the pro fetched the players from their hole and brought them back to the club house to work it out there.
  19. Nice thing is you can order a whole set and have 30 days to play them and send them back if you don't like them.

  21. My whole bag is GigaGolf. Impressively high quality clubs and great customer service. The stock graphite shafts don't seem to really work for me. I recommend upgrades.
  22. I dunno if I'd like it. I'd be a little nervous with someone I didn't know watching every shot. I'd also feel bad that they didn't get to play. I'd probably offer to let them take a few shots.
  23. I'd feel lame with a cart. That's the game. I'll carry, thanks.
  24. That's silly. I used FreeCaddie on my Touch Diamond and now use GolfCard on my Hero. Never left a course with a dead battery, and I use the GPS on every single shot. My buddy does the same on his iPhone. Plus, spare batteries are cheap, as are portable USB chargers. That golf mag gets a bunch of advertising money from GPS manufacturers, not app developers.
  25. That is fantastic. I'd actually pay $50 for one.
