  1. 'Basically' if I can do it 10 times out of 20 I could be really low.
  2. I par'd or better 15 holes on plenty of days and still not broken 80. But I am close - only 2 strokes away- and as I have shot even par for nine several times I know I am not far off from getting the index down to 9
  3. Thanks guys it is coming along, I am still not hitting as well as I would like, but I scrape around just fine, hitting 72% fairways and 53% green in my last 5 rounds. Distance is a bit of an issue right now with the current swing, but it could just be the cold weather. I still have lots of work to do, but I hopeful this will be the year I break into a single digit cap.
  4. Hey Guys I have Titleist 910 on the way so I have to clear out a couple drivers to make room. Driver #2 - Price Drop $105 shipped US or Can I have played the quade for while and this is a back up head I have to test out different setups, I am moving on now so I only need one quade so this one is on the block. This is the 'Tour Van' special as you have lots of options of how this club will be set up. Head: TM R7 Superquad. This head has seen lots of use but plays well. Loft: 9.5* Shaft: Currently it has a UST Harmon Tour Design CB 70S but if you would like I can build it up with the original TM Reax 65g stiff flex or made for exotics Aldila NV 65 –S Grip: Ping Red dot undersized grip, but I can toss on a TM Burner regular size if you like or If you have grip you want let me know as I can pick them up $2-$6 for most grips right now Length: 44 ¾ " with the current shaft, a little over 45" with the TM shaft or close to 44 ½ " with the exotics (roughly as I just use tape to measure) Weights: Two 12's, 6 and a 1 (If you need another combo let me know as I have some spares) Cover: I have an old R360 cover on it but if you want an R7 Cover let me know as I can come up with one. If you have question let me know. By the way I ship from Canada to Canada or from the US to the US as I live on the border.
  5. Hey Guys I have Titleist 910 on the way so I have to clear out a couple drivers to make room. Driver #1 – $125 Shipped US or Can This is great driver with a wonderful shaft I am tempted to keep it as the feel of this driver is great, but it does not see enough bag -time to keep it around. Head: Bridgestone J33 460 (in good shape with some wear on the bottom – see pics) Loft: 9.5* Shaft: Aldila NV ProtoPype 60g stiff flex Grip: Golf Pride Multi Compound Green Length: 44 ¾" (roughly as I am just using measuring tape to measure) Cover: Bridgestone J33 460 cover If you have question let me know. By the way I ship from Canada to Canada or from the US to the US as I live on the border.
  6. I have both a GPS and Range Finder. I use the Range finder 95% of the time and GPS only if I have a real problem. I had the GPS first and loved it, but getting real distance to the pin has been a game changer for me with my wedges and short irons.I just have way better info about how far I hit them and how far it is to the flag.I find my GPS it off by 2-3 yards to the middle, then I have to estimate how far the flag is from the middle and it is easy to end up being off by a club. One thing the Laser does not do is measure drives. I like to keep stats on my game and I do miss the GPS for telling me how far I am hitting it. One thing I think people miss is how a laser will relate to you pre-shot routine. I have found the Laser to be better for this as it is much more intentional then a gps and it get me in a better head space.
  7. I am not a fan of the white, but after a bucket of balls I got used to it. Nice driver, real deal.
  8. I was sorting out my bag for this year and I went Driver, 4 wood, 21* hibred 4iron-PW 51*, 56*, 60* Last season I carried 3wood, 5 wood, Hibred and no 60* I have found I have to carry a hibred, I like in light rough and I also tend to hit it better of tight lie. However I also like to have wood in the bag as safe driving option or for certain lies. My Hibred is 210yard club for me and 4 wood is closer to 230 off turf and few extra yards off the tee's. When I am over 200 yards out, anywhere on the green makes me happy so I dumbed two wood and split the difference so I could carry my 6o* again
  9. I have been working on fixing my swing this winter. I spent many years flipping or casting the club, and it was time to get this sorted out along with some other swing issues. I working with a pro once a month and making good progress as well as working on several drills a few times per week. One thing I have noticed is if I focus on a having my hands forward at impact I end up losing a full finish to my swing almost like I am playing a knock down. In function there really no issue with this, the more controlled swing with good impact, flies further, spins more and may have lower ball flight but still high enough. I am wondering if other have gone through the same issue and how you resolved it?
  10. Cally is great to deal with, the re-shafted clubs for once for free just because I ordered a shaft to weak for me (fitted by one of their guys) and called them up to see if they could help me out.
  11. The pro's make mistakes all the time.
  12. Most of my must have in my pocket other then clubs: 1. 5 balls (grab more at the turn if needed) 2. divot tool (pants pocket) 3. foreign coin for ball marker (pants pocket) 4. 2 or 3 eco tees - one last me 10 rounds or so but I can't seem to get me head to accept different tees (pant pocket) 5. towel not on my top five but are in my locker and car trunk (for away rounds) - bug spray, sunblock, and a variety of jackets for all kind of weather. I also carry a laser range finder.
  13. You never seen me ask the question (look up all my posts). I am not S&T; guy myself, but seeing his swing (with old footage from before S & T ) he seemed to have what appeared be S & T swing to me and I was interested if the experts here on S & T would call this S & T or not. From what I can tell he does seem to load up on his left side (insert joke here) and stay on left side. Like allot of people here I just trying to learn as much as I can about golf - I am sorry if you find this offensive in some way.
  14. I can't find a good youtube video of his swing - but it was on the golf channel today and he sure looked like he was stacked???
  15. Not sure why someone would say he does not know the new Ball Flight Laws - Eric gave him that test already:
  16. Can a computer replicate the real world? Kind of... Would I base my purchase on this? No. Get the numbers then try the club in the real world. I am lucky that my club has good demo program and you can take a club out for 2 or 3 rounds before you commit.
  17. I been thinking about grabbing some new wedges with old grooves to use next season.
  18. I am not sure that losing weight is good for your golf game. I been as fat as 260 and as thin as 185. Beyond the extremes I tend to to stay around 200lbs. At any rate my best swing is around 225-230, and when I am down in the 180-190's my swing is a real mess. The added weight seems to slow things down. It might be that Learned to play when I was 230+ and never been under 200 for longer then 2 golf seasons. Anyhow 220 right now, and swinging great. Still I would like to drop 25lbs before April. For me this is pretty "easy" I go on very clean diet with loads of green veggies and lower suger fruits, very little carbs(no pasts, potatos, etc and just one slice of bread day) and lean protein like fish and chicken and then 3 litres of water a day, I do this and then through in some running, swimming biking and golf and I drop about 46-lbs a week. The trick of course is keeping them off. But after a month or two of eating like this, I lose my taste for suger and junk food and tend to eat healthy for a year or two before I get back on the junk food.
  19. I am not sure breaking a rule and cheating are the same thing, not in my mind anyhow. Cheating in sports to me involves deception, you don't just break the rule but you make and effort to avoid any penalty associated with the infraction. Just saying calling someone that broke a rule a cheater is not cool in my opinion.
  20. I used to think the lessons needed to be long and you needed to pound lots of balls, but I got new pro this year and my first lesson he shows up at the tee with 20 balls . The lesson was 15minutes and one of the best lessons I ever had. He charges by the hour so we ended up having three more lessons that went for 20-30minutes that month. Each lesson we only made small adjustments, did a bit a of video came back and made a few more small tweaks. He knows where he is trying to get my swing to, but unlike other pro's he not giving me all the information at once, but slowly working me towards it. It been 6 months now and about 4 hours of lessons broken into about 10 sessions. The video shows a huge change but I barley noticed it as I was making it. I am not sure to many pro's would be willing to work this way as it is not the best way to make money, but it sure has been a fit for me.
  21. I think I would pass on that bag: We have a few golfers at my home club that like to spark up a joint just after the turn. If they see me walking around carrying a giant snickers bar, I may be in for a low speed chase. I am sure you have done so- but if you google this, you'll see this bag has sold in the past on ebay for around $300. It should be numbered as they were only 500 made, and this bag should be numbered on the brass plaque on the front.
  22. I did buy some. I committed to playing the same ball all of last year, and also bought 100 used balls for my shag bag and to use on practice rounds. The odd one would have a bit less pop then a new ball, but for the most part they preformed the same as a new ball after 9 holes
  23. I am sure that is part of it. Of course on live TV all that Mike Breed can see is the ball goes left and the ball goes right. He is not going to catch the positions etc that you can see in slow mo. Even if he did see the flaws he would have to by subtle about what he said. When you get a major champion on your show, you don't want to "threw him under the bus" for a bad swing.
  24. I have been thinking about going to an all inclusive golf teaching centre for 5 days this year. Has any one done this? does it help at all? Any recomendations?
