  1. The suggestion for the R7 425TP is a very good one, I have one and like it very much. Great shape, great feel, and great sound. And, you can get 'em for like 100 bucks these days!
  2. I always think I feel that way, but as soon as I take a week off I'm jonesing to play again :)
  3. Those commercials were filmed 20 years ago, he is now the Dos Equis guy. Pretty legit.
  4. The breakfast chili dog at the clubhouse I had at the turn wasn't treating me right, I was playing alone, no one was around as it was an extremely slow day, so, I decide to let out the biggest fart of my life. I was sure I'd hit a 400 yard bomb after relieving that tension. Anyways, long story - short, the cart girl (who is a total babe) decided to cut through the trees to ask if I wanted another beer right then. By the time she spoke, it was too late to retreat, the spectre had begun to leave my presence. Needless to say, I didn't play too well the rest of the day, and she never did come back.
  5. -6 inches, but I broke a little piece of the tee off at least 2 yards.
  6. its pretty darn easy, I've even had to change a grip in a hotel room once without a vise and my handy little blade (bought a last secon replacement hybrid at a 2nd hand shop). I did it with a pocket knife and my muscles. It helped that the grip tape was water and soap activated of course. Worked like a charm
  7. I'll hold my breath for the Burner 2.30c featuring the 14.5* 8 iron. I've never had a bad TM product, but yikes, you get beat up in trade-in value since they have 12 releases of the same product!
  8. When I first started playing i really liked the Nike PD Softs...could get them for bout 10-15 bucks a box.
  9. The cause of, and solution to, all my troubles.
  10. Like previously mentioned, its best to get fitted. You will be suprised at how much actaul flexes vary between manufacturers, despite what letter is silk screened onto the shaft.
  11. The layout was indeed quite interesting. I liked #8...it was dogleg left w/heavily wooded stream running across fairway, and only a tiny space of open air between two giant trees to hit your ball through, with giant lake on other side. #9 was cool too because the green is on a severe uphill slope. And the people there were as nice as can be too...I find the junkier the muni...the nicer the folks. I just did not like the crab grass mountains, and what looked like hundreds of anthills on each and every fairway. PS- Aren't you looking fwd to UT vs UTEP? I know a ton of UTEP folks here in Dallas...and eventhough UT will (should) womp them, its gonna be fun to follow.
  12. A: Putting for sure Q: What is the most dangerous thing you've ever done (on purpose)?
  13. LOL. I second that, I must play this course now...who wants to fly out with me?
  14. A lotta folks have mentioned they have played the worst courses...but I am fairly certain I have actually done so. Twin wells in Irving, tx is the place. My friend lives 10 mins away so we decided to get 18 in. There were so many ant hills on the fairway that it resembled a minefield...And if it wasn't that, the grass swallowed several of our balls...it'd be okay if we were way in the ultra tall rough, but these were spots 10 feet off the fairway. Wasn't even worth looking around for our balls... Just drop one and move on. Oh yes and Mosquitos gAlore! Twin wells...malaria wells. Some tees only had one marker also. Anyways why am I so compelled to post this? Well for one I want to lay claim to worst course played, but more importantly, even with ants and Mosquitos and aparent lack of lawn mowers at this place.... Can u believe I had an absolute blast??? Oh golf, how I love you sometimes. You are an odd mistress!
  15. that is so awesome! thanks for sharing that.
  16. Is your chili more soupy, or thicker? I actually like mine more on the soupy side. Anyways...it looks so divine...if you give me a piece of cornbread and a tall beer on the side I'd be in HEAVEN! Thanks for the pics!
  17. This is my sister Kodos! (manly voice) LOL.
  18. I got to watch on TV...and I couldn't help but think the crowds looked very light, thank you for confirming and posting your report. I will probably drive to Houston for the LPGA Tour Championship in Nov. I have a Precept hat that I want Paula Creamer to sign...maybe I'll get lucky...oh yeah and I am going to ask her to marry me (just kidding). Anyways, a question to ask you if I may. I heard that at LPGA events the players and caddies are a lot more interactive with the fans and so forth, and mingle a bit more...was this your observation? Might be fun to bring my friend and her little kids if that is the case...you know meet some real pros.
  19. I've never seen a UFO before, and some friends mention that they have seen them before (most accounts are a light zipping around and then dissapearing). Just curious if anyone out here on the forum has any UFO sightings they can recall and what exactly it was that lead them to believe it wasn't an airplane or maybe piece of fuzz on their eye lashes (lol).
  20. Today I played military golf...you know left, left, left, right, left. Club felt akward in my hand, like it was some sort of medieval device. Pretty disgusted with myself... especially considering how well I played just a few weeks ago. Anyways, for guys that have hit a rough patch, do you think playing through it or taking a break is best? Oh well, at least it was still relatively fun.
  21. I struggle with hooking the ball too, so I tired this today and it worked quite beautifuly. It was almost impossible to hit the ball out of play. It did feel wierd teeing the ball low though, and having my body aimed left...it was very unomfortable. I did pure one attempt accidently when my hands released... and I never did find that ball, it just sailed straight as can be...into the wilderness. If I am honest with myself though, I cannot really call it a power fade...its more like a 230-240 yard bananna ball of accuracy. I lost a lot of my rollout yardage, but I think this will be a good shot for me when I am struggling with driver. So thanks for the tips all, and the OP for starting this thread.
  22. Yup, that's firefly vodka...that stuff will blow your head off w/o you even knowing...and it tastes just like sweet tea that you get at grandy's LOL.
  23. Hard to beat Beam and a splash of water...but I think you might not have a taste for that right away. For you I suggest a good ole' gin and tonic after a round or with your lady friend...hard to beat that, especially for refreshment. If you want something a little sweeter, like as a desert drink, I suggest a double Amaretto and Ginger ale w/2 limes.
  24. Thanks much UTTX! On a diff subject (not too diff bc its about weather) can you believe I am looking fwd to winter golf in a few months? I like playing in the cold...and I don't mind walking it either.
  25. Thanks for the replys ya'll...a lot of times when you call they are like 'oh yeah sure its dry enough, come over and give us your money' LOL, just kidding, but I can imagine the slight chance that might be an issue. Once again, thanks folks. Tomorrow AM I'll give Firewheel a call.
