  1. I am in the same boat. I have a R580XD 10.5 and launch it a little high but I have the stock reg shaft in it. I have been looking around for a conforming R510 in a 9.5 loft but realise that I must do my homework on the shaft. If I get a head and then try similar clubs ie. 9.5 loft, with differing shafts do you think I will get a reasonably accurate assessment of ballflight?
  2. I gave the X speed a workout at a Titliest/Cobra demo day and I have a relatively moderate swing and the distance was awesome. I tried the new D1 and D2 and preferred the the D1 and the Cobra X Speed of all the drivers I hit.
  3. Do you have problems with blisters in your Nike's? I have had two pairs in the past and have had heel issues. I would like to buy the new SP-6's also but am afraid they will rub my heels raw.
  4. Sorry fellas I posted the link to Star Grip's website incorrectly, see below: www.stargrip.com
  5. Has anyone had experience with Stargrips? They claim to have the most even thickness around the shaft, possibly influencing your shotmaking. http://www.stargrips.com/
  6. Can't fault Mizuno irons (see signature). I have had them nearly twelve months and have dropped 6 shots. I think I can put that down to improved accuracy in the fairway and more confidence over the ball.
  7. I bought a Ping Anser 2 BeCu on ebay 2 years ago and would never use another putter. It is a good roller on fast or slow greens. I think I would like to be buried with it so I can use it on the hallowed greens in the sky.
  8. I am unable to get sound for the videos. Any ideas??
  9. I have come around Digital Divot which gives some cool graphs and you can record more stats than your just strokes. http://www.digitaldivot.com/framesetHome.aspx
  10. Can you post some pics of your Nakashima irons? In Australia we don't get a lot of choice in brands and I have never heard of them. I take it there are other Nakashima clubmakers like yourself? Tom
  11. I think that getting mentally relaxed is the most important key to a good round. It takes time to forget about what has happened previous to arriving at the course. With practice putts I agree that the short ones are the confidence builders that allow you to have a go at the one putt on the first hole, instead of being tentative. The first hole at my home course is a par 3 190 yards from an elevated tee. If I can walk up to the tee with positive thoughts about the hole, instead of remembering when I last blew out, then my round is ok.
  12. I use a Nickent Ironwood as I had trouble with long irons, it really replaces a 2 iron though which I have never had in any iron set I have owned. I like the Nickent however I have the tendency to put a big draw hook on it when I really go after it. I am really keen to demo a Sonartec but for some reason reps don't seem to frequent Australia. I wonder why!
  13. I would choose a 5 iron as I need a little more distance with my shorter swing. Really cool thought though, has anyone ever tried it out? Even for nine holes?
  14. I have been using a Nickent 3DX Ironwood 17 deg hybrid for 8 months now and would never try and hit an equivalent iron. I love the versatility of the club, grip down and use it for punching below tree limbs or out of thick rough. I find that I get a strong draw when I middle it whereas I tend to have a straighter ball flight with my irons. Does anyone else notice that??
