  1. I did but now I feel pretty confident with it from the fairway or a good lie, but still have a little bit of trouble hitting it from bad lies in the rough. You just need to go practice with it. At least for me I wasn't used to it and then when I practiced with it I started improving pretty quickly.
  2. I've been playing for about 3 or 4 months now. Started playing in the beginning of summer. I used to play a little extremely casually when I was younger, but then didn't touch a club for around 6 years. Played a handful of casual rounds with my junior clubs, but didn't really start playing until the beginning of the summer.
  3. How would you compare these to TopFlite Gamers?
  4. Yeah, I thought that episode was pretty funny. I actually saw Drama on my birthday at Camarillo Springs golf course in Camarillo, CA. The person I was playing actually knew the 3rd person in Drama's group (him and his buddy and then the 3rd person who was an employee at the golf course). We talked to him later and he said Drama came and played there all the time. I also took some lessons at Sterling Hills golf course and my teacher told me that Drama and Turtle had come in multiple times and that they were very similar to the characters they played on the show. He said none of the other main characters golfed. Yeah, this season of Entourage has definitely been the worst, ESPECIALLY last Sunday's episode and the one a couple weeks ago that was a lot about Andrew Klein and his Wife's plot line. It's just too over the top and stupid. Like the whole seen with Andrew Klein's wife barging into the office and yelling at everyone, waaaay dumb. And this episode was possibly the worst. The whole Ashley subplot isn't very interesting, and the Andrew Klein subplot is just downright painful to watch.
  5. I love my X-22's, and think they'd be perfect for you. Offer lots of forgiveness but still gives you room to improve.
  6. I was in just about the exact same situation as you. I have a Blackberry Tour and I was trying to decide between Golf Logix and Greenfinder. I did the test run of both, and although I thought Golf Logix was a little bit better, but it KILLED my battery. I was playing a weekend round, so it was a little bit slow, but my phone died on or around the 15th hole. With Greenfinder I can get through a whole round fairly easily. So in the end it was a pretty easy decision, had to go with Greenfinder.
  7. My phone GPS told me that my friend hit one 380, but i'm not sure if this is correct. I sometimes doubt the accuracy of the GPS at times. I also could've sworn that it landed just ahead of the group in front of us, at the front of a ridge, but when we got up there the ball was lying a bit fartherh up and to the left on the cart path. I kind of think they just got annoyed a bit and punted it a little up the cart path.
  8. Hey thanks a lot for this tip, i'll definitely try it. Do you think you could elaborate at all? maybe a little bit more specific what I want to look for. Thanks!
  9. Hahahaha :) too funny! Especially the last one!
  10. I agree, nothing worse than a group of people playing from the blacks or blues when they shouldn't be there! it slows down rounds soooooooooo much. I can't count how many times i've seen people playing back tees shank their tee shots to the forward tees or shorter or slice them constantly onto another fairway.
  11. Awesome movie! loved it! it's growing on me more and more too since I saw it opening night. It was one of those rare movies where I loved it coming out of the theater and it's kept on growing on me later. Best movie of 2009 for me definitely: 1. Inglourious Basterds 2. Star Trek 3. District 9 I also liked Funny People, UP, Hangover, OK: Julie and Julia, Watchmen, Harry Potter Didn't really like: Public Enemies, Transformers 2, Night at the Museum 2, Bruno, Knowing (turned it off after like 20 minutes, whoever marketed this movie totally was misleading! it was not what I was expecting) And I think that's all the movies I can remember i've seen in theaters in 2009. Oh ya, and i'm utterly anticipating Shutter Island!
  12. Very impressive sir. My hat's off to you. That is a goal which I only hope I can reach eventually as well.
  13. Its a show of team pride, spirit, and unity. Everytime you look at your teammates faces your reminded exactly why you are here competing, and that this tournament is special.
  14. So i've had a pretty frustrating couple of days. I've tried to get some draw on my shots, and i've been able to do it some times, but overall i've been extremely inconsistent, and my contact has been fairly poor. I got some video but I don't know how to upload it from my computer. Okay, i've figured out how to put it up on YouTube. Apologies for the crappy framing! I self-shot it by balancing my Verizon Blackberry Tour :). Please analyze my swing and tell me what you can tell! These swings were with my Callaway X-22 8 iron, and it was during the course of swing tinkering trying to learn to come in to out. I did a slow frame by frame look at it and I saw some pretty cool stuff that i've never been able to see before :) video analysis is awesome, I can see stuff i've only wondered about before. On the last swing on the second video I was even able to see a little shaft flex.
  15. That's good though, you have an opener now if you ever see them again, which you probably will at some point. And the opener is half the battle ;)
  16. Seen a ton of these in the golf stores around this area. It felt like they weren't selling too well, but thats just the feeling I got seeing lots of unsold ones left in stores.
  17. I feel like most average people and football fans are sick of Favre, but they keep featuring it on Sportscenter because like I heard on ESPN the other day, "people can't stop following the Favre saga." Well I think thats because they can't avoid it on ESPN all day lol :( (agenda setting for your Communications majors out there!) Oh well, its another interesting storyline to the season, as long as they stop overdoing it!
  18. Well you made it 8 months without a single 4 putt, thats pretty good in my book ;) haha Well at least your still on pace for only 1 4 putt the hole year so!
  19. Haha, that reminds me a TON of myself. I'm trying to figure out what kind of career path I want to go down that I will be able to do that. My rough plan had kind of been law school and then lawyer, but I dont know if thats going to be too much work and time. I want to be able to golf a lot :) Too bad my major sucks (Communications) and was picked with pretty much only law school in mind. I've been trying to think of other jobs that pay well (I need to upgrade my clubs after all ;)) that I wouldn't mind doing. I'm more liberal arts minded than math, but I'm not too shabby there either.
  20. For casual players such as the person described, I don't think they care about the rules of golf nearly as much as they care about not wasting money :)
  21. It is :) especially where I am located!
  22. Golf teaches a lot of lessons. Working hard, not taking shortcuts. No one is going to hit that ball in the hole for you and if you don't do it properly it isn't going in. Not to mention the fresh air and exercise. Too bad neither of my parents were golfers or interested at sports at all lol. I wish I had been pushed into it when I was younger. Oh well, I might've burned out or something.
  23. Agreed, plus it does the least "damage" to your swing (assuming that you don't wish to have to change it just for this issue).
  24. Ha, interesting post. I'm still in college, so i'm not yet looking forward to getting a real job. Mind if I ask what your job is? Ha, that is a pretty ballsy move. Idk if I'd necessarily recommend it in the first week of high school lol. Just try and get a feel for the place, your going to be spending a lot of time there for the next 4 years. Also, get to know the golf coach! and go out for the golf team! Man, I wish more than anything that I had golfed and went out for the team in high school. From talking to one of my buddies you pretty much got to play golf everyday for free! and you get the practice of competitive events.
  25. Awesome and amazing post! Thanks for putting it in a way that I can understand! and don't worry, i'm good at translating from righty to lefty-ese :) Thank you so much and I begin work on it at the range tomorrow and in front of my mirror tonight :) Now to just get these blisters healed lol.
