hahaha...I didn't look that far into it. And those were public courses, the ones that us minions can play.

They did this a few years ago with Sergio and TaylorMade.

I was just in the one in Scottsdale and bought some ProV1's. But I bought them at normal price ($45), not $36.99. -
Well, there is another way you can look at it. I like rankings, and I think Golf Digest does it the best. If you look at their "Top 100" rankings, which is the best for most of us because we don't have tons of connections, the states are a bit different. It would be: 1. South Carolina with 11 of the top 100 2. California with 9 3. Michigan with 8 4. Hawaii with 7 The only thing I don't understand is how GD doesn't have any AZ courses in the top 100, thats my only beef with them.

I would have to say the top two are California and New York. And I would lean towards Cali being number one...well, because I am from here. They both have the most in the "Top 100", 11 each. New York seems to have more of the top #ed courses, but Cali seems to have more that are public. Plus, to me, they have the BEST DESTINATION area to play golf in Monterey. The Monterey area has 5 "top 100" course wich are Cypress (allways a chance to be #1), Pebble Beach (# 1 public course), Spyglass (some say is better than Pebble), Peninsula C.C., and the Preserve in Carmel. And this isn't counting Spanish Bay and Poppy Hills! And a few hours away you have Pasatiempo, and the courses at Olympic Club in San Fran. And all those course down in L.A, San Diego, and Palm Springs........ all I can say about California is WOW!

Looking for a new Travel Cover

I absolutely love my bag. Its a hard shell that you take the top off and can use it as your bag. I get compliments on it at every airport I have ever been. I was so afraid of getting a soft bag because I thought at any time a suitcase could fall on it and break something. -
Not bad at all....looks just like it would have coming from the CS.

I have the 56* Z TP Smoke.....and I know a lot of people on here don't like them, but mine is my favorite club in my bag (beside my Scotty). I have an original RAC 60* that I need to replace with the Z.

I absolutely love FootJoy Stasof. When it rips on me, it is only on the outside palm, never in the fingers.

Taylor Made 200 series irons - loft question
GolfinGQ replied to TopWalker's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Here ya go. TM has a vintage part on their page to look at ALL the clubs they have ever made. http://www.taylormadegolf.com/#3014 Select year: 2001 Clubs: 200 series -
The weight loss will come as long as you stick to it. I started this year at 242, the heaviest I have ever been. Me and four guys threw $100 each in the pot on who could lose the most weight % in three months. This Saturday is our weigh in....and I am currently at 204 lbs. I won't be too upset if I don't win the $500 because it is getting me back into shape, but it won't hurt to ass to the new set of irons!!!

How long do you keep your irons?
GolfinGQ replied to GolfinGQ's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I understand TM and the delofting, but on the TP r7s they are not. The lofts are the same as I am using now. And I understand that EVRY single company makes great clubs, I just don't like NIKE. Obviously Tiger would not be with them if they didn't make good stuff...or paid him TONS of money. And yes, TM makes the TP MB Forged irons (smoke). -

I have no problem with other sets, but why stray away from something that has been working. I tried the r7's wen the first came out and loved them, but didn't buy them because they are oversized, mine are midsized. But, at the time, I wasn't playing enough to start hitting a players club like the TPs, but they too felt great. Golfsmith was having a great deal, 15% off, and these clubs have never dropped in price ($699). I wanted to get them before they run out. As for other brands, I HATE Callaway and especially NIKE. I think NIKE became a joke when they made the Slingshots. I would try Mizunos and Titleist, but I like the way TaylorMade is going in their technology (besides the r9 line). -

I am debating on getting new irons. I almost pulled the trigger today, but didn't do it. I have had Taylor Made 320 series irons since 2001. I have loved the r7 TP irons since they came out, and I was going to get them today because they were having a sale, but decided not to. In my head, I am thinking I need to hit my irons I have now better before I get better clubs. But, then I was also thinking that the TP's are from 2006 - 2008. Should I maybe look at current technology? (I hate the R9 line). Tomorrow is the last day of the sale...I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO?!?!?!?!

Scottsdale trip in less than a month
GolfinGQ replied to GolfinGQ's topic in Golf Courses and Architecture
Ok, so I just got back from a wonderful week in Scottsdale. I played pretty well, and played with some great people. Started out with Grayhawk, which I think was the toughest out of the 5 that we played. Shot an 84 with not hitting the ball that well, so I wasn't too upset. Then we played 36 at Gold Canyon. Sidewinder wasn't too bad, great for the price. $175 to play both and lunch. I played my best golf at Dinosaur, where I shot a 74. I think I only missed about 3 fairways all day. Condition wise, I think this track was the best. Played Troon, but now I guess they mixed the 9's from Monument and Pinnacle. A very nice course, shot an 80 on a somewhat windy day. TPC was last, and a bunch of fun. The caddie pissed me off because he was giving us this whole story about why not to go for the green in two on 15, and how all the players he tells to layup and listen play the hole better. Well, after a good drive, I listened to him and layed up. I had 190 to clear the water, 207 to the hole. So I played a second ball, and hit it to the middle of the green with my 5 iron, I was pissed. He told me I probably wouldn't have done it if it was my first ball....needless to say, he didn't get a wonderful tip from me. I ended up shooting a 78. All in all had a blast. If I could play just one again, it would be TPC just becaue I think I could have donw much better, but the best would have to be a toss up between Dinosaur Mountain and Troon. And being everyone was up there playing golf, I talked to a lot of guys who played both We-Ko-Pa courses, and about 90% of them said hands down Cholla was better than Saguaro....even the caddie at TPC said the same. -

Ok, I leave for Scottsdale tomorrow morning. So excited, can't wait (too bad I am starting to get a cold). Booked all of our golf.... Monday - Grayhawk Raptor, Tuesday - 36 holes @ Gold Canyon (Sidewinder then Dinosaur Mountain), Wednesday - Spring Training game, Thursday - Troon North, Friday - TPC Stadium Course, Saturday - Spring Training game. Didn't get We-Ko-Pa in there, dad really wanted to play TPC, I really wanted to play Troon, and got great deals on the other two. -
The shirts and the design aren't that bad, but the logo is what kills it. I like the whole argile look.....but crossbone skull with clubs is a bit much. I don't think it has anything to do with being "edgy", its focused on the younger generation of golf. Its almost like the bigger, gaudy belt buckles the younger guys are wearing, or the loudmouth pants (those are rediculous). Look who wears it, Mike Perez from Big Break. I would personally wear some of their stuff if it didn't have the skull logo. One of the big companies should go this "style" route, they would get a lot of new business.

It is pretty sad when you have to turn down playing Spanish Bay for $125....cause I leave out of town that day. Pretty bumbed out, but I know I get to play some great courses next week. Hopefully when I get back, all will be made up for because I hope to play Spyglass for $185. (fingers crossed)
