  4. I see you have Troon on there, both courses. If you aren't worried about money, is the TPC Stadium course worth it, or is Troon still better?
  5. Duffy, where are you going to be staying?
  6. how much did your journey cost.....golf wise that is.
  7. ok, so I found World Woods on a ranking. It is #46 on the top 100 public courses in the US, but nowhere close on the actual top 100.
  8. Ya know, I have looked up and down many of the top 100's lists, and still can't find any with Pine Barrens on them. Let alone any from Tampa. http://www.golfdigest.com/rankings/c...estgolfcourses
  9. I have tickets for Wednesdays practice round for the Presidents cup.
  10. So, I took a trip to Lake Tahoe, NV this weekend in hopes of playing Edgewood. The weather was a bit unpredictable, so we ended up playing a place called Eagle Valley (West) in Carson City. I started off horrible, bogey, bogey, double. OUCH. Then I picked it up, with two birdies and four pars to finish the front. I ended up shooting 74 (two more birdies on the back). But the #8 hole made my day. It was a 571 Yard par 5. Straight, with water about 75 yards in front of the green from the left. I hit my drive about 310. (I average about 285, but I know everyone will say they doubt that, but oh well. ) So, I had about 260 in. I am very up and down with my 3 wood, but when I do hit it right...it is right! I hit my 3 wood about 12 ft behind the hole. Me and my dad were pretty stoked. I missed the eagle putt though. So it was playing VERY slow, so we played 7 and 8 again. And on 8, I hit my drive almost the same exact spot. I hit my 3 again, this time about 8 feet past the hole, and this time made the putt. I was so stoked.
  11. I went there last month when I played Spanish Bay. I did not playt it, but got the Dukes card from there to play SB and Spy cheaper. It looks pretty nice though.
  12. My folks live in Spokane (Liberty Lakes), and its great up there. The BEST is 30 minutes outside of Spokane in Coeur d'Alene Idaho. They have 3 TOP NOTCH courses there. The Club at BlackRock - #27 in the country, but is as private as can be. The Coeur d'Alene Resort - #75 on top 100 public. The one and only "Floating Green". Beautiful Beautiful Beautiful! Circling Raven - #61 on top 100 public. Also #3 in the country on casino/golf combination.
  13. oh man, that was one of my next nice courses to play too!
  14. this was a pole done by abc or somebody
  15. 1. Shadow Creek Golf Course -- Shadow Creek Golf Club, Las Vegas, Nev . - $500 2. Pebble Beach Golf Links -- Pebble Beach Resorts, Pebble Beach, Calif . - $495 3. Old Head Golf Links, Kinsale, Ireland A round of golf costs nearly 295 euros. In July, that'd cost visitors a whopping $461 . 4. Pinehurst No. 2 -- Pinehurst Resort & Country Club, Pinehurst, N.C . - $410 5. The Royal Birkdale Golf Club, Southport, England A round of 18 holes here will cost golfers £165 to £195 per round, depending on when you go -- that's $327 to $386 . 6. The Royal Melbourne Golf Club, Melbourne, Australia The historic and celebrated Royal Melbourne Golf Club is rather exclusive, compared to some of the other clubs on the "most expensive" list. 16. When I graduated high school, I was just over a 3. I took some time off when I bought my first house when I was 19 (had no money to play golf). I started back up when I was about 22 on occasion, and got back into it full swing for the last three years or so. I still can't get down past a 6. And now, I am up to a 7.4. Maybe I should actually practice, instead of just playing once a week. I'll go for a week, playing twice, hitting the range twice....and putting a lot, to the next week not even playing or practicing. I think I need a bit of consistency.
  17. The most important role of slope is leveling the playing field for players of different skill levels. For example, let's say Player A and Player B average a score of 85 for 18 holes. But Player A's average is established on a very difficult course (say, a slope rating of 145), while Player B's average is established on a very easy course (say, a slope rating of 95). If handicaps were simply estimates of golfers' average scores, then these two players would have the same handicap index. But Player A is clearly the better golfer, and in a match between the two Player B would clearly need some strokes. Slope rating allows the handicap index to reflect these factors. Because he plays on a course with a higher slope rating, Player A's handicap index will be lower than Player B's (when it is calculated using the slope ratings), despite the fact that they both average scores of 85. So when A and B get together to play, B will get those extra strokes he needs.
  18. Man, that course is going to be tough. 76.6 rating from the tips, with a 137 slope.
  19. Keep it up Marshmellaw! Yesturday, I was 2 under on the back nine going into 18 (2 over total). I was stoked because I haven't shot an under par round yet this year, on either 9 or 18. So I played it safe. 4 iron off the tee, 6 iron in, 2 putt.....easy right? Well, I hit my 4 iron about 220 off the tee, but just off the fairway. So I had a 5 iron in, about 200 out and had to make sure I got over the bunker in front of the flag on the right side of the green (water all in front and right of green, and fountain behind). So I put it in the sand. Calling this sand would be generous. It is more like clay. So I tried to dig my 60* into it, but still couldn't, and scolded it past into the fountain. I have never been so close to tossing one of my clubs in the lake as I was yesturday!!!! So I take my drop and stroke, and pissed off just go up and hit my 5th shot quick. It was about a 15 yard chip, braking to the right down hill. Sure enough, it goes in to save bogey. Everyone in my group was happy for me.....me......I just go to my cart, grab my bag and walk to my car. After the fact, it was a great way to save my 1 under for the back.
  20. Hey Cesar.....where you from man? Looks like you are playing the same courses as me!!! Where about do you normally play?
  21. Amen, my folks live in Spokane, about 30 minutes west of Coeur d'Alene. My Dad and I play there every year. We also go to Circling Raven, about another 30 minutes East of Coeur d'Alene. Circling Raven is ranked #61 on Golf Digest top 100 public courses. Coeur d'Alene Resort is #75.
  22. I just got back from playing Spanish Bay a few weekends ago, and I would have to disagree with you. I had an absolute blast at Spanish. The course was very challenging, but all the holes were wonderful. The other three guys I played with, have played Pebble, Spy x 2 and now Spanish within a month. They all said they would much rather play Spnish Bay over Spy any day. You get more ocean holes, and they said the play was just better. Especially if you like the links style courses. Shot an 84 from the black tees.
  23. wow, after all that golf, are you going to even have any money to pay for the caddies? Those courses aren't cheap, and you are playing them all. Have a blast!
  24. The Coeur d'Alene Resort is the prettiest course I have ever seen. It's not hard at all, but playing the floating green is wonderful. Who would have thought such a gem would be in Idaho.
  25. If you live in Cali, and don't mind the drive....the best buy is the Duke's card. It is from The Old Del Monte Course. It's $300 for the card for the year. You can play Del Monte for $45 (normally $100), and you and your foursome can play Spyglass for $185 (normally $330) each, and Spanish Bay for $125($225+) (playing there on the 20th)
