It's been a while since I have really thrown one, but I did bend the shaft on my old 3 wood by throwing it tomahawk style up into a big tree.

Well, I get to update a post for the first time in a while. I recently picked up a 2006 Dodge Charger R/T Daytona edition. It is #430 of only 4000 made in the Top Bannana Yellow. You may be wondering why I would buy a rear wheel drive muscle car in the middle of a Michigan Winter. Me too. Actually I love it. It sucks in the snow, but when it's dry it's the most fun car i have ever owned. It is basically loaded. Hemi, navigation, Sirius Radio, 6 disc, black leather with yellow stitching (including Daytona in the headrests), it even has a numbered badge on the dash. I'll update more when it thaws out and I can open it up a little.

Places to play in Michigan?
Jeepthrills replied to putterboy's topic in Golf Courses and Architecture
For making only two Michigan trips, you have chosen some great courses. I hope you chose to come back for more. There are still plenty more to play, although they may be a let down after Arcadia. Right now we are burried under a lot of snow with temps dropping into the single digits tonight. -
TST members running into each other on courses?
Jeepthrills replied to dragonflyin's topic in Golf Talk
I met Golf Cheif a couple years back. He is a ranger at the course I play. He recognized me by my lime green bag and the fact that I am 6' 8". We knew about the common course but had never met before that. -
I was playing Sunday at Westwynd and started off the back nine with a disasterous quadruple bogey on the par 5 10th hole. Eleven is a 410 yard uphill par 4. It was also playing into the wind. I hit my drive just short of the 150 marker. I had 153 to an elevated green and with a moderate wind in my face I took a 7 Iron. The ball was at the flag from the second it left the club face. I saw it land on the green and roll before the ball disappeared. When we got up to the green I asked if my brother saw a ball behind the green. He said no so I told him to check the cup because it was probably in. It was. Eagle 2. It helped turn my back 9 around and I ended up with a reasonablly nice 44.

People need to learn when to shut the hell up...

Try having this happen in a league where it's all friends and family. Was it in the back swing of the putt? If so, then it's total crap and likely intentional. If it was when you were standing over the ball but not mid swing, then it's still bush league but at that point you have to back off. I understand missing the birdie, but that one is on you. I have done it too many times to count, so you are not alone. Golf is always about the shot you are on, not the last one. I think one of the attributes of the better players is their ability to block everything out and focus on that shot. You would have still benn 2 under through 6. Not a bad start. -
With the career change I have been insanely busy and have not been here much. There are a few guys who were interested in a divisional league. Obviously we need to start next week since the NFC East has already played, but it's not too late. Send me a PM this weekend and I will get you in.

That and the fact that I would hate to have to reach into my pocket to check the time. I will always wear a watch.

If I am not available for the draft, will it do an auto pick for me?

I have been enjoying Magic Hat #9 all Summer after my golf league. I picked up a 6 of Magic Hat Hocus Pocus the other night and it was good, but not as good as #9.

Wednesday was the last night of our league and my wife and I were playing in the championship match. I came to #9 2 shots down. 9 is a straight par 4 that from the tips plays about 370. It was playing about 355 that night. My opponent pulled his drive into heather on the left. I hit a bomb. My drive was about 30 yards short of the green. He ended up barely advancing his second and taking an unplayable on his third. By the time he hit the green he was laying 6. I hit a safe approach that ended up on the lower tier of the green. I lagged up to 3 feet and he missed his putt for 7. I rolled mine in and won by 2 shots. Unfortunately my wife struggled all night and lost by 2 shots. We needed to take both matches to win the league title. I did end the year with the low men's average for the 3rd straight season but that doesn't offset the sting of second place.

I have never played Arcadia Bluffs, but I will try to this Fall. Everything I hear is that it is absolutely awesome. I have played both Oakland Hills South and North. The North Course is every bit as nice as it's famous sibling. The big difference is that when you are playing the South, you can actually see where the greats of the game have played. -

Thanks. I played there last year and had a great time, but that was as much due to the group of guys I'm playing with as to the courses I'm playing. I am looking forward to playing Fountains this year. Last year it poured rain on our last day and we missed out. P.S. Three more days till I am done working at my current job and 4 days till I leave for Garland. But who's counting. -

Hawk Hollow is an outstanding course. I played in a scrable there for the Lansing Convention and Visitors Beaurau a few years back and it was great. There is a great little par 3 with what is almost an island green. -
How much are you paying for gas these days?

In the Detroit area it was down in the $3.70's last week but has crept back to $3.85-$3.90. Bastards. -
I am very happy. I like Beasley but I just think he is under sized. Besides, the Bulls already have too much money tied up in high draft picks that are supposed to be the answer in the post (Noah and Thomas). We'll see about them. Aldridge sure would have looked good in a Bulls uniform had they just kept him. I hope 2007-8 was the exception and not the rule. I think they can make a run in the East again. I have a Bull's tattoo on my arm and it is already tough enough being in Piston territory with it.

The NFL Season is right around the corner. If everyone is interested, I will put together the Sand Trap League again. Last year we did one by divisions and also used defensive players. I was thinking about doing two leagues this year. One custom one like last year and the other a more traditional one with an auto pick draft. The first is limited to 8 teams. I am taking the NFC North again. The other can have 10 teams. It will be a standard league with no defensive players. Send me a PM if you are interested and which league you want to play in. If you want in the custom one, let me know which division you want.

I just picked up my Nike Air Zoom Elite's yesterday and can't wait to play Sunday morning. They felt great in the store and Nike has always fit my foot well. -
What is the widest lake you would dare attempt to hit over?
Jeepthrills replied to HytrewQasdfg's topic in Golf Talk
It would seem like I'm in line with most of the group here. 240-250 would be the edge of my comfortable range. I can hit it farther, but as for straight carry I would say 250. -
I just want to know why Noah didn't just swat the little bastards before setting sail on the ark.

There is talk here in Michigan that it will soon be our new state bird.

My countdown is on: 9 days until my last day at my current job and 10 days until I head up to Garland for 3 days of golf with my brother and 14 other guys.
