  1. I guess I may be in the minority but I don't think Kuchar was being cheap or unfair. If anything I would say the local caddie should be the one looked at as selfish. I look at it like this, Kuchar offered his terms before the tournament started, the caddie agreed to it. The outcome is unknown at that point, if the caddie felt like he had a chance to win the tournament he should have spoken up and agreed to a specific amount in case he won. I try to put my self in the caddies shoes, I would think it was a cool experience just to be able to hang out with a pro and get a behind the scenes look at things. That alone would be worth more then the cash he asked for. To me it seems like the caddie took advantage of the situation afterwards saying hey I can get some money out of this now that he won.
  2. I'll give it a go.
  3. I just started this year, my goal was to break 100. I shot a 99 one day and was happy with that. I play with a group of guys who only play once or twice a year and they shoot low 90s normally. I think some people just have a more natural swing and others such as myself have to constantly work on it.
  4. I would like to see a koepka/Mickelson duo tomorrow.
  5. The only reason I can think of is Phil has been putting so well this year. Maybe the theory was Phil would carry Bryson on the green and could get them out of trouble if Bryson missed the green which he has been doing. Still I agree with you strange combo.
  6. Good point shows how observant I am, didn't even notice that lol
  7. I didn't like that duo, I always thought Bryson was hit or miss this year. When he is on it looks good but when he is off it seems really bad. Wow USA can't buy a put this afternoon.
  8. I wish the teams had two distinct colored shirts. A lot of guys wearing the dark blue shirts. Throws me off a bit at first glance. Not a huge deal would just like to see some color disparity.
  9. While watching my swing I snapped this still frame. I noticed at this point in my swing my hips appear to be rotated as much as my shoulders. Correct me if wrong but shouldn't my shoulders start rotating then the hips follow after? In other words my hips shouldn't be moving in unison with my shoulders.
  10. Trying to work on my center turn. Still doesn't look pretty but I was able to hit some decent shots on the course today. I feel like I may be standing to upright during my turn. Also my feet maybe to far apart. Just re watched the Videos am I standing too close to the ball? Never noticed it before but I am thinking that may also be the case.
  11. I think it would be a lot of stress, remember you never will win a tournament. The thought of always chasing a win and never getting it would drive me nuts.
  12. Good point! I still think I have to go with option B, I golf with friends from work a couple times a month. I don't know if I would want to give that up. Also I am an introvert so I don't think I would like the spot light.
  13. Tonight as I was practicing I had this thought and found it kind of interesting. So you have to use your imagination but I am going to present two options to you and you can only choose one. Option A: you are given a magic pill that allows you to make a living playing on the PGA tour. You make a good living and have all the endorsements and sponsors you could ever dream of. You compete against the tops players in the world on the best courses in the world. You finish your career with top 10 and top 5 finishes but you will never win a tournament. The flip side is you can never play any local golf with your friends or family again. Option B: You pretty much continue your golf career where you are now, never make it to any professional level. You get to spend your life playing golf in beer leagues with friends and family. You don't make a living from it, no fancy sponsorships or endorsements. I can go back and forth between both options, I think I finally settled on option B. I don't make a lot of money now so I know I can be happy with out ever being rich. I think spending the time with friends and family means more to me. So what option would you choose and why?
  14. Here is one with my 7i, I will try and get DTL view up also.
  15. I posted a my swing video, it's not pretty lol. I have never watched my swing before and I now know why I suck lol
  16. I've been Playing Golf for: 1 year My current handicap index or average score is: 27 My typical ball flight is: slice The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: slice with driver, hitting it fat with irons. Figured it was time to post some Videos. It's my first year playing so bear with me here lol. I hit a lot of slices with driver, I tried collecting it by using a stronger grip but now I hit it too far left. I know my entire swing needs help but I will take any and all advice. So just by watching my Videos I will post my impressions ( other then it sucks and I should stick to driving the cart and not the ball) I think I move too much in my swing, I have a hard time staying balanced. I also struggle to get my weight forward.
  17. I'll be playing in my first tournament tomorrow. It is a fun tourney, 3 man scramble with an over sized cup. This is my first year really playing golf, I am a high handicap so I figured this would be a good tournament to play in. I am looking forward to it even though it's not a typical golf tournament, for my skill level it's an exciting way to still get out and compete in something. The tournament has some rules I found to be neat, you have to use each team members drive at least 3 times during the tournament. They have 4 handicap brackets. The way they determine your handicap is after you complete your round and turn in your card they roll some dice, the number they roll determines what hole they use to start calculating your handicap. This way you don't know what holes will be used to determine your handicap beforehand.
  18. Thanks for all the responses, I will try and get a swing video up. I would like to get at least an understanding of a what my swing is doing.
  19. This is my first year playing, currently have an unofficial handicap of 25. I have been slicing my driver pretty bad. A friend of mine told me to try a stronger grip position to close the club head faster. I gave it a try and stopped slicing, now my shots start and stay too far left. I guess my question is 1) is a stronger grip a legitimate way to fix a slice or is it just putting a band aid on it? 2) since my shots are going so far left now is it a matter of finding a sweet spot between strong and neutral grip to straighten out my shot?
  20. I had a group of younger gentlemen in front of me on the course one time. They had an external speaker on their cart and had music blasting the entire round. I didn't say anything since it didn't bother me but I could see how it could be annoying to others.
  21. I just put on winn dri-tac grips on all my clubs and I love them. I haven't played in the rain with them so I can't comment on that. I have played with glove and without a glove and didn't notice a difference. I put the mid size grips on and I love how soft they are.
  22. I am just a beginner so take my comments with a grain of salt. I was struggling with my driver, I found I was trying to take to big of a back swing (like you see pros do) I tried to shorten my back swing a bit and it has helped. My reason for this, I was having a hard time getting my body to come back to the right position after really winding up my back swing. With a shorter back swing it is easier to get back into the right position. I don't crush my drives I hit around 230 average sometimes get it out to 250.
  23. I normally play by myself, when I do go out in a group we all shoot about the same score and still play from the whites. If it is really crowded we split into two teams and play scramble golf which speeds it up. The way I see it is as long as you aren't taking forever to look for balls and are moving as fast as you can I don't care about having to let people pass. I paid the same price to play golf as they did, just because my skill level is different from them doesn't mean I should have to play from shorter tees.
  24. I play from whites, I normally shoot around 110. I am trying to improve my game it's my first year, I am not so worried about what I score. I find it easier to be consistent when I play from whites no matter what course I play. It helps me track my progress. I suppose I could move to the senior tee and save a few strokes but I feel like that isn't helping me improve.
  25. Decided I would give my never used 3h a try today and quickly realized why I never use it lol. Tried it twice both times I sliced it so bad my ball flew over the highway that runs along side a par 5. It could be that I just suck (at least today I did) I wasn't able to hit any club I grabbed. Ended up tearing up my score card on the 7th hole and focused on fundamentals instead of strokes.
