Poor lamb- He’s just coming back after 6 months out! Meanwhile on Sky TV Faldo is on top form. Wry and entertaining.

Here in England a player must submit 3 rounds worth of golf scores(or 6 x 9 holes scores) for their handicap to be assessed. If these rounds are in a competition they are marked as For Handicap and the player plays off scratch. Seems fair enough.

It’s a beast of their own creation. What do the players think of the atmosphere? I would not enjoy playing there. Although if I was a multi millionaire golfer on the PGA tour I expect I could put up with it quite happily

The best way IMO is to slow cook Prime Rib. The slower and cooler the better. Sous vide is an option but the high fat content of ribeye makes it better suited to roasting. My preferred cooking time is 12 hours. The first 2/12hours to get the internal temperature to 53C ( 127F) and the remainder maintaining this temperature. After cooking the meat can be seared and like sous vide it requires no resting. I have cooked over 10000 joints of beef this way and it is very reliable. It helps to have a pro level oven. In a domestic setting it’s tough to be so accurate but @iacas has it about right with his times and temps. Beef best served with a sea of Yorkshire puddings.

100% . Although brown would be the correct colour!

Yes they are, but it’s less of a problem.

I’m getting pretty tired of LiV and the PGA tour but Viktor Hovland says he has no plans to join LIV Golf but attacks PGA ‘arrogance’ | LIV Golf Series | The Guardian The world No 4 criticised the ‘arrogance’ of PGA Tour management but said he has no plans to join LIV...

The hit was pretty hard. I thought it would be penalty and an exclusion as soon as I saw it( not based on my opinion of the hit but just what I thought the refs would do.) Football, like Rugby, is an impact sport. The nature of the game is inherently dangerous. Rugby is currently trying to change the rules of the game and the culture to minimise the risk of serious brain injuries and trauma caused by concussions. To truly make the game safe means changing the sport so much that it is no longer the same game. It’s the same for the NFL, a major part of the attraction IS the impacts and collisions. Take it away and we might as well watch basketball. part of the driver for Rugby trying to make itself safer is threat of future lawsuits from ex players and their families. Is it the same for the NFL? I love watching Rugby and NFL, and I loved playing Rugby, but I’m pleased my kids did gymnastics and soccer( although sadly neither stuck at golf for long)

US college football has such a terrible history of corrupt and criminal behaviour that the UM spying scandal is child’s play really. Too many sticky fingers in too many pies.

That’s very nice work btw…..

I have the Mizuno below. It’s very comfortable and very good on the waterproofing, though that may not be so important if you don’t live in the Lake District. ☔️☔️ BR-DR1 Stand Bag - Mizuno Golf United Kingdom & Ireland Discover the BR-DR1 Stand Bag - A totally waterproof stand bag with seamless construction to protect...

Just win Baby! I first started watching the NFL in the eighties when it first came to UK tv, and finally I went to the Titans-Ravens game at London a couple of weeks ago for my first NFL game. The Tottenham stadium is fantastic, the atmosphere was great despite the game being only of average quality. The Titans were poor and Tannehill especially. Lamar was close to being good, so it was no surprise the Ravens are improving.

Absolutely, and it also means the team are 100% committed to designing the car to suit the lead driver, and designing strategies to protect Max. (This has not been required this year. ) Schumacher was so clearly better than his team mates at Ferrari that he benefited in a similar way. I don’t think there is any driver on the grid who would beat Verstappen over the course of a season if they were all driving RB cars and only a few(Hamilton, Norris, Alonso) who would win more than a couple of head to heads.

Well played Lexi Thompson, but she should really make the cut easy playing in a kids tournament.

Hit the best shot of the year today. Par 5 15th into a gentle breeze. There is a ditch running across the fairway at an angle so hit 3 Wood out to the right. I was left with 245 to the pin and hit another 3 wood which did not leave the pin the whole way, landing on the green and rolled up to 6ft. Holed the eagle putt as well, which was nice.

Tiger frequently looked out of place at Ryder Cups, especially his earlier ones. He didn’t do well with partners, or sometimes his partners didn’t play well with him. His singles record was ok though IIRC.

Sort of agree. Ever since Kiawah the noise of the crowd has been excessively partisan. There’s almost no appreciation for good golf played by the “other “ side. It’s the same “home” advantage as other sports now. It means though that when that rare away win happens it’s going to be really deserved. Although if you play as poorly as the US did on the Friday you don’t deserve to win much.

So much TV time , so few golf shots shown. Absolutely shite coverage. Too many adverts, focus on the action please.

Some good golf being played this afternoon . Hovland looks like he could be next world number one. Cantlay v Rose is a real humdinger.
-
Well it’s being reported on Sky Sports , so maybe it’s got legs.😀 Cantlay and Shauffle both mentioned in the article. Surely they should have turned down the invite to play in that case. Ffs

Well it’s a simplified description so that even a bird can understand it….
-
Because like many people you don’t understand the system. Vegas odds don’t necessarily reflect the probability of the event. Just an indication of where the balance of bets they have taken lies. Bookies make their money whoever wins then. Equal levels of risk and a built in profit margin of 5-10 percent. The house always wins.

Sergio is not eligible for selection, he resigned his membership of the DP Tour. So he couldn’t be picked. The same goes for Poulter and Westwood. Richard Bland was still eligible but …..well he’s Richard Bland
